Chapter 8 The Magic Card

Dante got the feeling that someone was looking for him after they left Mystical Pets Of Mystery.

He could not afford to attract the attention of too many women right now. But if it's a powerful woman who is looking for him, then that is a different situation.

Weak women trying to get close to him would only result in them being killed off quickly by Freya. She is someone who only respects the strong. It's very much a situation where mercy is for the weak.

If you're strong, there is no need to show anyone mercy, even the weak.

Walking down Diagon Alley, Freya and Dante walked into Gringotts Wizarding Bank. Dante wanted to exchange some gold for some of the local currency of this world.

Walking inside of the Goblin-run bank, Dante marveled at the fact that the wizards of this world would trust all of their money to another race other than their own.

But from the history that Dante recalls, they rose in rebellion against the wizards of London; one of the main reasons for this was the theft of the Sword of Gryffindor.

The humans actually had the nerve to use a goblin-made sword as a symbol for a Hogwarts house. That would enrage anyone who spent so much time making something.

Looking around the bank, he saw a lot of goblins. But none of them had wands on them; they must not have been allowed to use them after the rebellion.

But Dante has to admit that the various charms and hexes, not to mention enchantments, that riddle this bank are indeed impressive.

When Freya and Dante walked up to the counter of the nearest open goblin bank teller, Dante looked at him with a serious face and said, "I would like to open a vault here at Gringotts and exchange for some local currency."

When Durgin Blackforge saw Dante and Freya walk into the bank with the strange animals on their shoulders, he began to analyze them.

Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.

Gringotts does banking business all over the world. So he could immediately tell that these two were not from the Wizarding World of London.

Then they would be foreigners then, but from which country and why are they allowed to come here unescorted? If they can wander Diagon Alley by themselves, then they must be wizards of significant standing in their own Wizarding communities.

"My name is Durgin Blackforge, and I assume by the way both of you are dressed that you are visiting from a foreign wizarding community."

Dante was pleased that this Goblin assumed that they were foreign wizards. It would make things a lot easier going forward if they adopt this identity as a wizarding couple migrating to London from America.

Dante chose to use America as their original place of citizenship. That would be able to explain a great deal of their cleanliness and different thinking and speaking styles.

"Yes, we are a couple that recently moved here from the United States Wizarding community."

When Durgin Blackforge heard that they were from the United States, he became far more respectful. If there is one thing Goblins love, it is capitalism.

Because the Gringotts branch in the United States is the envy of Goblins around the world. Due to the massive wealth that flows through a free capital market.

It's also a great place to launder some money if you want to get rid of something dirty, like books about dark magic.

Durgin Blackforge made the immediate choice to offer to be the personal banker of these two.

"I'm more than happy to help you open a vault here at the London branch of Gringotts. Would you like to make a deposit now? We also feature some of the exclusive magic card technology that has recently become popular in your home country."

With the modern knowledge that Dante received from Freya, a magic card would be the equivalent to a muggle credit card. Dante was pleased with this; then, he would not need to waste time worried about the local currency exchange.

"Durgin, are the stores in London able to take a magic card?"

Durgin nodded his head, saying, "Yes, in fact, it's quite easy. We handle the actual transactions on our end. All a store has to do is tap their wand on the magic card; then I, as your personal banker, will handle the payment details without you needing to worry about anything. This is a service that we only offer to our most exclusive clientele."

Dante was happy with this arrangement. If there was one thing he did well, it was robbery. Well, he does many evil things well, but that's besides the point. Dante is incredibly wealthy from all of the loot he's taken from his campaign of destruction over the years prior to his retirement.
