Day by day, doing the same old thing, with little to no change to your life.

This describes the life I'm living. A life more mundane than the blue sky.

But it all changes today.

It began when school had just ended. Sitting in the corner of the classroom, I did a light stretch as I yawned.

Sleeping in class is the best...

As I lazily scanned the classroom, my gaze landed onto a certain crowd. All the popular people in my class were congregated there. As they chattered noisily, I hastily shoved my stuff into my bag and left the classroom.

As I reached the door, a voice called out to me.

"Hey Ratchet!" A lovely voice called out to me.

Sighing, I turned my gaze to the owner of the voice.

Cheryl, the angel of my class, as well as my middle school classmate.

How we became so 'close' was because of this. For some reason, I was always put into the same group as her in projects. As usual, I contributed very minimally and was missing from meetings most of the time. Cheryl was the one dragging me back to attend these meetings, causing me some distress and hate from my classmates.

When I found out she was going to the same high school, and the same class, as me, I wanted to cry out loud.

"Hey." I grunted a response and quickly left the classroom.

'Safe...' I thought. As I left the school, I went to a hardware store nearby to pick up some building supplies and a new hammer, since my old one was broken.

Why would I buy this, you wonder? Well, let's just say I have a deep interest in building.

Shoving everything into my bag, I took a small detour on my way home and strolled along the lake in a park nearby. Whenever I feel stressed out, nature always seems to calm me down.

Sitting on a bench, I breathed deeply and enjoyed the fresh air. At the corner of my eye, I noticed some movement in the lake. Observing closely, I watch a fish jump up into the air, followed by a huge monster-like fish swallowing the tiny creature in one gulp.

"W-What the hell!?" I exclaimed loudly, frozen on the spot. Behind me, I hear a faint sound of splashing behind me. Getting off of my seat, I turned around to find a slime.

Yes, a slime. You heard me right.

What is a fantasy creature doing in reality, I have no god damn clue.

With my instincts compelling me to run, I grabbed my bag and ran out of the park.

"What the hell is going on!?" I shouted out loud, gasping for air.

A wolf's cry echoes throughout the sky.

"..."

Must have heard wrong.

I must be hallucinating. This can't be real.

As I ran along the path, I finally made it to the crossroad. Almost home.

A loud howl rang throughout the crossroads. A wolf strutted proudly as it walked past me. As I attempted my great escape, it faced towards me and growled menacingly.

"Shit!" I cried out in fear, my legs rooted to the ground. As the wolf approached, I remembered my hammer in my bag.

The wolf growled as it prepared to leap onto me. Digging through my bag, I took out the hammer, wielding it as menacingly as I could, so as to scare the wolf off.

Not feeling the least intimidated, the wolf launched itself onto me. I threw my bag into its face and used the sharp end of my hammer to jam it into its skull.

Howling in pain, the wolf struggled to escape, tearing itself out of the hammer and leaving a large gash on its head.

Seeing the blood flowing out, I grinned. Adrenaline began to flow through my body and replaces the fear in my heart.

'Serves you right. I'll fucking slaughter you!'

Gripping the bloody hammer, I slammed down onto the wolf's exposed skull, crushing it. The brain splatters into a gooey mess as the hammer smashes into it.

A message appeared in my mind.

Shaking my head, I panted heavily, dropping the bloody hammer as my sense returned.

"Shit, what have I done?"

Another message appeared in my mind.
