It was midnight. The full moon shined brightly accompanied by the vast stars in the night sky. There laid a large city bustling even upon the glowing moonlight. The howling wind peered into a large, empty room, where the drop of a pin could be heard from miles away. In the room, a single bed could be seen at the entrance. Anesthetics, syringes, medical kits and other tools were neatly placed on a table beside the bed.
Three people surrounded the bed, while one was seen on the bed. A sharp scream echoed through the vacant room. Currently, Queen Alesha was holding her husband’s hand tightly, giving birth. In all her life, she had never experienced immense pain like this before. King Kulyrith, the Queen’s husband, comforted her as he said, “Just a little longer, Honey!” The doctor instructed her to keep pushing. The nurse stepped in whenever the doctor needed assistance.
Minutes flew by quickly. After ten hours, the baby could be seen. First came the head. Then, King Kulyrith could see the shoulders. Next, the arms came through and then the feet exited. A baby was born. His skin was fair and his eyes were shallow, but in it shone a burning passion. Queen Alesha let out a long breath of relief.
The doctor cut the umbilical cord and wrapped the baby in a towel. The doctor checked if the baby was healthy. First, he checked for any skin infections or colour deficiencies. Then the doctor checked both ears to see if the baby could hear as well as any newborn ear infections. Lastly, the doctor checked the hip for stability and balance. If there were to be any issues with it, then the baby wouldn’t be able to walk properly. He handed the baby to King Kulyrith.
The King took the baby in his arms and let out a bright smile. Then, the baby started crying. The king expected this. What baby didn't cry after all?
“What a cute little boy you are. From this day forth, you will be named Richard,” King Kulyrith said firmly. Richard would be his pride and joy. One man to rule the kingdom. One heir. The kingdom would continue to rise.

Before Queen Alesha could hold the baby and kiss it, she suddenly started breathing heavily again. King Kulyrith looked at the doctor implying, “What is going on?” The Doctor did not speak though. Although he wanted to interrogate the doctor, he needed to focus on his wife. Queen Alesha let out a large shriek; something was coming out. There would be twins today!
After a short amount of time, a baby slithered out. Unlike the first baby, the second time was quite smooth. The pain was decreased and the amount of time it took was short. They weren’t sure whether it was because the second time was easier or because the baby made it easier by willingly coming out efficiently.
After finishing, the doctor bowed toward the king and said, “My sincerest apologies for not informing you of the second child. The Queen wanted me to keep it a secret and surprise you. Although it was against my better judgement, I obeyed her.”
Again, the doctor cut the umbilical cord and inspected this baby carefully. This baby was dazzling. The baby had large bright eyes. His skin was soft and white. His body seemed perfect. After wrapping the baby in a fresh towel, he wanted to hand the baby to King Kulyrith but King Kulyrith was currently holding Richard.
After putting down Richard, he started crying louder. King Kulyrith passed Richard to Queen Alesha. Queen Alesha looked at the baby. It was average and normal.
Then King Kulyrith picked up the younger baby. The younger one looked deeply into King Kulyrith’s eyes. King Kulyrith frowned. He had no need for a second son. Although he didn’t care much for this child, he had to name it. He was about to name the baby when it spoke.
“Papa!” the baby said as it reached out with its hand toward King Kulyrith. The baby smiled, but King Kulyrith displayed a different expression. He was shocked. Nowhere in history had a baby spoken so quickly. Babies took time to develop but the intuition of this child was insane. It was most likely a fluke.
“Dear, what should we name this one? Seeing as how you wanted to surprise me with it, surprise me with a name” King Kulyrith asked. He was still a bit dazed, but he kept his composure.
Queen Alesha sighed in relief. After giving birth, she was simply too tired to laugh. She knew her husband was shaken and angered by the second born. Usually, he displayed a grand aura. After pondering for a while, she came up with a simple name. “He shall be named Alex,” she said. She kissed both children on the forehead.
News spread quickly that the Royal Couple had an heir. This was big news to all in the kingdom! There would be an heir to the throne. The King now had a child to pass the throne on to. This would secure the kingdom and there would be a new representative after King Kulyrith died. Overall, the prosperity of the kingdom was visible. At the same time, this also bought a new issue. King Kulyrith feared the second born would attempt to usurp the throne from Richard.
