Rain filled the empire’s great capital during the night. As a carriage was going along the lantern filled night, a tall and lean man could be seen inside, wearing a black and red suit with black hair. He was sitting there without moving, looking out at the rain filled streets. The man’s carriage headed to his home, the home of the Dunat Household.
The carriage man called out to the man through the rain as it heavily poured on him,
“Master! We are approaching home; please hurry the madam should be giving birth right now!”
One would typically rush out at this point, but the man just grabbed an umbrella at a leisurely pace and began to walk into his home.
“I am home.”
As he walked into his home, he announced himself in a not too loud or low voice.
“Welcome home Edward; you almost did not make it. Less chit chat and follow me in.”
A man with black hair and grey hairs starting to show, dressed in a gown adorned by magical crystal’s called Edward to follow him.
“Yes, father.”
Edward answered the man and started to follow behind him to a room located to the left of the entrance, as they walked in they heard a scream.
“AHHHHHHHH”
A woman was lying on a bed screaming in pain with fiery red hair dishevelled; you could tell she was a woman who did things her way.
“It is a boy, congratulations madam.”
At the same time as the two pair of son and father arrived by the side of the woman, It was announced that the child was a boy by one of the people assisting the lady.
“Give him to me; I want to see my baby boy.”
The red-haired lady demanded the child. Just as the maid was about to do so, the father of Edward stepped forward and took the child into his arms and announced in a stern tone.
“You may leave now.”
As he said this, the maid backed out, and it was just Edward, the mother of the child and Edward’s father holding the child in the room.
“Hey now Emily, do not give me such a worried and resentful look. You know I want him to succeed just as much as you right?”
Edward’s father walked toward Edward’s side once more while holding the child who did not cry this whole time. He felt Emily’s gaze burning his back.
“Until I know he is safe I will continue to worry so please hurry up Abner.”
“I agree, father. I also wish to see my child’s talents.”
With both of them urging him on, Abner felt no need to waste any more time, so he proceeded to use one hand to hold the child and the other to hold a piece of paper. He read out words filled with strength.
“Eyes of the Scholar search for the true strength of this lifeform before my eyes.”
Words appeared on the sheet of paper as power flowed through Abner to the child then onto the paper. After this action, he looked at the paper and smiled.
“A healthy young and powerful general has been born once more in my Dunat family ahahaha!”
After hearty laughter, he handed the child to Emily and read out what was on the paper to them.
[TALENT STATUS]
Life: B

Fortitude: C
Vitality: A
Intelligence: S
[SKILL’S]
Leadership: SS
“Why is that skill there?”
Edward's eyes revealed a glint of sharpness as he questioned Abner.
“How should I know? All I know is that you have given birth to another strong person and heir to our family, and for that, I am thankful to the god Lionheart for allowing such great strengths to be born in my family.”
Emily was holding onto the child with a loving look on her face full of smiles. Edward approached her and began to talk.
“He will be named Jason just as you asked for.”
“Jason, Jason. That is your name. Edward, with this I do not need to worry anymore right? Jason will be safe now right?”
As Emily continued to call out the name or her newborn child, she asked Edward what was worrying her most.
“I would like to know the same, is it done father?”
Turning to face and ask his father this question, Abner smiled in response and responded.
“Of course! He is now a part of the family so why would he ever be in danger? You two relax and enjoy this joyous moment! I will go and tell the king of this joyous occasion and request a small feast to be held tomorrow in celebration!”
As Abner said this, he began to turn and walk out of the room.
“You heard him, Emily. You no longer need to worry about our child being killed.”
Emily heard those words and thou she was relieved; she could not be pleased. Many things were going through her head, fear that if they deem her son too dangerous they will kill him, fear that if he is considered to be not good enough they will kill him. She loved her husband Edward, but she knew he would choose the household over her.
“I cannot help but worry...He has not cried even once during this time. Why is he not crying? And that ridiculous ability. He has been born to lead, and you will force him to do so.”
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
Edward looked down on his wife and his newborn child with cold eyes.
“You chose to be in this family and situation; you also knew what would become of having this child. You have no right to be getting sentimental now. He will become both the heir to this family but also a leader who will command many lives and have blood dirty his hands. This is the future he will lead.”
Emily looked up at her husband with worried eyes on the verge of tears.
“Do you think I want my baby boy to die on some lonely battlefield!? You will defend him and help me grow him so that he is strong enough to defend himself! Am I understood! Edward!?”
Changing from being upset to angry, Emily’s hair began to glow as it hung down around her and her child while she got worked up.
“Calm yourself. Do you wish to scare Jason? He is watching you. He also has dark red hair. Maybe he even has the same ability as you. Do not show a bad example.”
“Then give me your word!”
“I give you my word. I will grow Jason into a fine commander and a man strong enough to defend everything he wants.”
At Edward’s words, Emily began to calm down slowly. Right after doing so, she started to think of why her son was not crying like most other children and just stared at her.
“I wonder if he knows what is going on right?”
Edward blurted out after thinking for a bit.
“Maybe, his intelligence is rank S which has never been seen before. So maybe he already knows what is going on?”
At Emily own light-hearted joke she began to smile.
“I think this is enough. I need to go. I suggest you get some sleep, you must be tired from giving birth, and I am sure Jason needs sleep too. Do not hold him for too long since there will be much time to do so tomorrow.”
Like that Edward began to walk towards the door but stopped just before stepping out at the call of Emily.
“Edward.”
“Emily.”
“Thank you. I love you.”
Without turning his back, Edward said back to her.
“I love you too.”
Just like that Edward walked out of the room and continued to walk out of the house after informing a maid to take care of Emily. By the time the maid arrived Emily was already asleep with a smile on her face holding her sleeping child in her hands.
Abner was walking through the hallway in the castle of the king, on his way he would see guards and maids bow their heads every time he walked by. Approaching the king's chambers, he saw the same two guards and started laughing.
“Hello, boys, Ready to try and stop me again?”
The two men already had their swords drawn in one hand with a spear in the other pointed forward resting on their arm as it was aimed towards Abner. You could not see their expression from behind there helmet, but you could sense they were both ready to stop Abner.
“You're not talking again? Come now, you must at least try to talk to me sometime ya know. Maybe you could get some useful info?”
The two guards stood silently at Abner provocation and stood ready to defend the king's study at any time needed.
“Fine, suit yourself, but you cannot stop me like that.”
Abner immediately turned to mist without even chanting and then from this mist it spread toward them.
“Block the path of evil and defend they honour Wall of Light!”
The left guard grabbed his spear and slammed it on the ground and created a wall the mist could not go past.
“Ho ho very lovely, I guess I cannot sneak past like normal. But I think you are looking down on me.”
Water started to drop down from the mist and created a few small puddles, at the same time images of Abner appeared in the fog and started walking towards the guards While chanting.
Immediately as this happened, the right guard rushed forward and stabbed with his spear defeating an illusion of Abner and slashed through another, Like a wild wind he began to search for the real Abner. He believed they could not defend the door. So he rushed forward and decided to defeat him first, after all, he was not good with incantations like his partner, and he did not think to work together like last time would work since it failed last time.
Abner and his illusions finished there incantation when there were less than 10 of his left, and small icicles appeared around all of the illusions then were immediately shot toward the guard defending the door.
“Get lost!”
The guard left behind to defend did his job well enough. He blocked all the attacks even at the cost of his left arm freezing up since it held the spear. As he looked back to his teammate who rushed forward expecting to see Abner on the ground, he was upset only to see his partner standing there not moving.
“Hurry up and finish the illusions off!”
A voice of pity rang out.
“He cannot move, he stepped into the puddle, and he is smart enough to see what spell is ready to be used from such a close range from the magical fluctuation.”
Taking a look at the guard defending the door saw an electric spell ready to be used, he only admired that. The ability to create an illusion and ground to hide while creating a trap which were the puddles and attacking all at the same time from within the trap. This is what it took to be the king’s Royal magician.
“We have lost once again.”
With those words, the mist slowly disappeared, and Abner appeared from it with a fireball floating in his hand.
“Yes you have, but you did well. Stopping my mist from spreading out and attempting to attack me before I could finish you was only normal, but you must be more careful. A mage is something that controls nature, everything that the gods gave us can be used against you.”
As Abner used the fireball and split it into many little ones and tried the room and melted the guard’s frozen hand, he smiled to them and told them words of encouragement.
“Try again next time; you are the guards of the king's chamber. I am sure you can do well enough to beat me soon.”
Walking through the door to the king's study, Abner felt a sword edge rest upon his back.
“Come now, you know I just fought a battle. Can you not cut me some slack? Besides, you are my butler! What kind of joke are you pulling putting a sword to my back? You’re older than me for crying out loud! Without magic how the hell do you even move like that?”
Just as Abner had said this, Sebastian, his butler, who was currently in a red and black tuxedo and held a sword to Abner’s spinal cord said: “You are in the presence of his Majesty the King. I am only doing the right thing as your servant by stopping you from being a fool.”
At his own servant's remark, Abner could only smile wryly.
“Oh come on, are you telling me not to battle my way into the king's chamber? You know I started doing this ever since the change of guard. How can I stop this fun habit now?”
Feeling the blade being pushed forward, Abner started to edge ahead a bit and answered quickly.
“OK OK! I give in! I am done with the silly games for now so put the sword away ok?”
The sword was pulled from his back, and Abner adjusted his posture and turned to the lord he served and got on one knee.
“Abner Dunat greets his Majesty King Maytek the III.
An aged man, looking to be in his late 50’s about ten years older then Abner.
“Welcome, so? How did it go?”
Standing up, Abner responded to the king who did not even raise his head to talk to him.
“A boy, a boy with a skill for leadership already at the level of SS. Same with the intelligence of S, he did not even cry when he was born, he just stared at us.”
King Maytek turned his head up to look at Abner and with sharp eyes asked him.
“And your judgement? What do you think of it all?”
Abner apologized to his son and daughter in law in his heart.
“Dangerous, It is scary to think how strong that boy will become when he leads an army. Though his ability as a soldier is average, his ability to lead is scary.”
King Maytek could only groan at little at his old friend's response of his grandchildren.
“I see, well let us see how it goes, no child is born with blood on their hands or with thoughts of taking a life.”
With that response, Abner brightened up a little.
“Understood.”
As Abner was about to leave, King Maytek called out.
“Thank you, Abner, without you all of the Empire would be gone.”
To the king’s look of gratitude and words, he responded with a smile and said.
“I live to serve, after all, my King.”
