Prologue

A simply dressed man with light brown skin stood in an empty metallic room in the Madan Space station, which was named after him.

The room only contained one big window which he was looking through at a round metallic structure that orbited Earth. The man was visibly disheveled, having long but unkempt hair and dark circles under his eyes, yet he smiled as if something wonderful was happening right in front of him. He smiled even brighter and shouted.

"Finally! Jesus Christ! Those irritating motherfucking pieces of garbage will finally see my genius. Why did this shit take so fucking long?!"

He stared and waited until he looked behind him where a neat and handsome man wearing a suit was standing, holding a square device with a big red button on it. The handsome man grimaced.

"What? Are you expecting me to answer?"

Madan, or Nero as his friends called him, smiled brightly with a hint of cynicism.

"Yes Alden, that's why you're here."

Alden looked at him with an uncaring face, showed Nero the device, his index finger from his other hand, and started to bring it very slowly towards the button.

"Stop!" Nero shouted. "Why are you always doing this? I'm just joking!"

Alden stopped, looked at Nero, and frowned.

"Because you made this stupid big red button that can set off the biggest project in the entirety of history just by clicking on it by mistake."

Nero scratched the back of his head and smiled.

"Well, there was no other choice! If I'm going to start the biggest project ever, I need to do it while pressing a big red button!"

Alden looked at him with his uncaring face, which changed into a weird, unnatural, yet genuine smile.

"You know what? I agree."

Nero made a horrified face.

"Holy fucking hell stop smiling. Your smile is terrifying."

Alden stopped smiling and looked at his beautiful watch. Again, he showed him the device and showed him his second finger on his other arm.

"Wait!" Nero shouted.

Alden didn't stop. He started to bring his finger closer and now he looked serious.

"What are you-"

Nero knew what was happening, and so he ran towards him.

Alden continued to bring his finger closer, ever so slowly.

Nero jumped towards Alden. "NO!" he shouted.

A second before Alden pressed the button, Nero managed to press it while in the air. He crashed into Alden and they both fell.

Nero immediately jumped up and ran towards the window. "Shit!"

Alden got up a second after him and started running as well.

They both stopped in front of the window. Nero was the only one panting.

He looked at Alden angrily "You almost ruined everything!"

"No." He answered calmly. "It was just time."

Nero was about to answer, but the huge metallic structure started to expand.

They both forgot about the conversation and stared at what was happening.

"Fucking beautiful," Nero said.

The side that wasn't in front of Earth's surface opened.

From the structure came out very thin lines of metal that started to expand around the earth.

It took some time, but the lines started to take the shape of a net. The net was very thin, almost invisible.

Finally, the net connected around the Earth. Suddenly, the lines stopped. The process made no sound from beginning to end.

"Today will be the day when humanity breaks a law of nature," Alden said seriously while looking through the window. " It will be the day when humans will finally be free of the burden of not knowing what will happen after their deaths."

A second after he finished, the metallic net started to shake and stopped. Then, it started to contract as if undoing the remarkable transformation, until it was back to its original form. The round structure that was back to its original form was starting to fly towards Earth's surface.

While it was happening, Alden turned around.

"Let's go, Nero, the answer is right around the corner."

"Yeah," Nero answered nervously.

They walked around the station, exiting and entering rooms and corridors. The station was huge, so it took a while. Nero usually made comments about the amount of time it takes to travel to the station, but not today.

Suddenly, they heard clapping, cheering, and whistling. Nero became more nervous.

"Shit. It's really happening."

They knew that the cheering sound of the station's crew was because the structure made its way back to earth, and the mission was a success.

Alden didn't answer, but he looked nervous as well. Alden never looked nervous until today.

Finally, after a long walk, they got to the room. The room had one black screen. It was big, about the size of a human, just a bit higher from the floor. Nero and Alden didn't talk. They just looked at each other, Nero nodded, and Alden pressed a button.

The screen turned on.

They both looked at it. It was black, but there was a tiny white dot on the right side of the screen.

Alden and Nero looked confused. Alden approached the screen and started to zoom in on the image with his fingers. As he inched closer, the dot split into two.

Nero looked seriously.

"What is the meaning of this?"

"Be patient."

Alden continued zooming in. Bit by bit, the dots became larger and clearer. There were two grey dots in each white dot now. Later, it was seen that the grey dot contained a black dot as well. Alden continued for a while until the dots filled the entire screen.

They were very clear now. There were two white oval objects, each containing a beautiful silver round object having a cloud-like texture with small black lines here and there. In the middle of the silver object was a perfectly circular blackness.

Alden was weirded out.

"Weird. Those look like eyes. Maybe if we zoom closer we will see something else."

He looked away from the screen and to Nero, and was surprised.

Nero was shaking, sweating, making a horrified face. He looked possessed.

He looked at Alden and said quietly.

"B-because… T-those are e-yes..."

Alden was confused.

'Was it one of Nero's jokes?' He thought. 'He never looked so real while making them until today. He has certainly improved his acting skills.'

"We don't have time for your jokes Nero."

He looked back to the screen and was about to zoom in. Suddenly he started shaking, at the beginning, it was almost unnoticeable, but it intensified until he almost couldn't stand. He started sweating profusely.

"W-what is happening?"

He started looking around, searching for the origin of this feeling. He felt terrified, like he was about to fall from a great height, or like he was standing in front of a predator that he knew he had no chance of escaping.

He looked around, searching frantically for the source of this feeling by instinct, but suddenly he stopped. He looked at the screen again, horrified.

The eyes. The beautiful and flawless eyes. They looked at him! He was certain they weren't earlier!

While shaking, he started to feel a liquid dripping from his nose, eyes, and ears.

He heard something fall, and suddenly, the world turned black.

Then, he heard it. The voice.

------------------------------------

A normal looking teen wearing normal clothes was sitting on a comfortable sofa in his yard. His black hair was calm and unmoving because it was a calm night, but his brown eyes were shining, it was a big day after all!

Today, the famous scientist Nero Madan will do his big secret experiment!

Although no one knew what the experiment would bring forth, most people were excited.

This was Madan after all. The scientist that made it possible to walk on ships in space. The same one that solved the food problem in most of the world! It has to be something incredible yet again.

It was said on the news that everyone would see his experiment from the outside, no matter where you're from. 'That is crazy!' Boris thought. 'That means that he created something huge!'

He was excited.

His big brother Callum, a tall and handsome looking guy, sat to his right. He had black hair and green eyes, and was dressed fashionably. He was looking serious as usual, but there was a spark of excitement in him as well.

"It will be a special birthday Bo, isn't it?"

"Yeah, but I still expect a present."

"Well, I'll buy you something. A small plushie perhaps. It's your sixteenth birthday after all."

"Shut up!"

They both laughed.

Their dad, a big bearded fellow wearing simple clothes, was flipping burgers on an outdoor grill near them. Their mother was sleeping inside with their three year old sister.

He looked at his watch and shouted "It's about to start! Boris, Callum, get ready!" and sat next to them hurriedly.

They all looked up expectedly.

Suddenly huge metallic lines formed above them. 'So fast!' The metallic lines create a huge net that seemed unending.

"Whoa," Boris said uncontrollably.

Suddenly the net stopped moving.

A couple of seconds later, the metallic lines shook, and big winds started to form. It started to feel colder, and the grill fell from the strong winds, but they didn't care.

As suddenly as it started shaking it stopped. Then it started contracting and a couple of seconds later the net vanished as if it never happened.

They sat there for a minute, amazed at what they had seen.

"That was amazing," Boris said.

"Yeah," Callum said

"It was very cool, but our food is ruined," their dad said disappointingly.

"How can you think about food after watching that?!" Boris exclaimed

"Because I made it" He said while standing up and smiled. Then he went to clean the mess that was made from the grill falling down.

"Let's go," Callum said as he stood up and went to help clean the mess.

Boris stood up as well. He started walking towards the mess when he started feeling like someone was watching him. 'You're sixteen already, stop being so anxious' he thought.

Then he started shaking. He looked at his hands which were visibly shaking, then at his brother and father who were as well. They were all confused.

"Wha-" he was about to talk but the world turned black.

'What is happening? Did I faint?' he thought.

Then, as suddenly as he fainted, Boris saw two majestic perfect eyes with grey pupils with cloudy texture.

He felt like they were looking at him, at his soul.

And then he heard the voice.
