I've finally found it, after wandering the desert and getting a grasp as to how this world works I've found it, Castle Outerguard. The place where the final battle happened a hundred years ago in the war against the Eternity cult. After being kicked out into this new world I've had trouble getting my bearings, the lesser species don't like lizards most likely out of jealousy and will attack on sight. After scrounging around the corpse's belongings for food and water, id also come across a book or two and read it all. This was how I learned of the wars between the eternity cult and the rest of the world.
When I had approached, some cretins were sitting around a campfire by a broken bridge that separated me from the castle. Peculiar, they didn't seem to mind I'm a lizard and looked as if they could hold their own in a fight, could be useful as meat shields if we come across anything inside. Examining them showed that one was a Dwarf, coal black hair with a well groomed beard sat at the fire with a two handed axe on his lap, across from him is a well built human with a shield on his back and to his side laid a shortsword sitting on the ground.
I warily approached the two and introduced myself.
"Hello, my name is Aeiya"
"ello lass! names Thogar Ironside, and this is Allistor. He dun't talk much."
The sheepish looking man on the opposite side to him said
"h-hi."
I was about to sit around the fire with them to build trust but was interrupted, a shirtless winged man started flying toward us. I pulled out my axe and dagger in case he attacked, Thogar pulled out a comically huge for his side giant two handed hammer. Allistor didn't seem worried and hadn't even gotten up.
The monster put his hands up in defence.
"Wait, wait! Not a monster I swear!" he furled his wings as he was talking.
"Just a little magic, cool right?"
"isn't magic frowned upon by you people? you kill anyone that uses it." Aeiya said in a curious tone
"maybe over here, but back in Zilförd, magic's commonly used. Now that we're done with the history lesson. Why don't learn the magic man's name?"
"The names Duncan, came here to explore, and if im lucky, treasure"
"Treasure eh? from the looks of it all of us could use some. Anyways! I'm Thogar Ironside, this is Allistor and Aeiya" pointing at us respectively
"The scaled one seems a bit..... misinformed. On the other side, we have Allistor how doesn't talk all that often."
"Now that introductions are out of the way, why don't we all head on inside and find our treasure."

we all looked at the ravine that separated us from the castle, it went deep down and you were likely to die if you fell. I had spotted a tree that had fallen on both sides of the ravine but it didn't look quite stable enough to hold us, just to make sure I wasn't the one who died, I decided i'd get Thogar to cross.
"hey Thogar, think you could cross that? You're probably the lightest one here seeing as how short you are." His reaction was more volatile than I expected it to be from his previous easy going attitude.
"Are you insane lass?!? Look how far down that is." He kicked a pebble down the ravine and it never sounded like it stopped.
"Then do any of you have a rope? We can get Duncan to fly over and tie a rope down so we can cross, just make sure not to let go."
nobody verbally responded but Duncan flew over and pulled out a rope, tying it around a tree. Now all we have to do is shimmy our way along it.
"Well if it's such a good idea, then why don't go huh?"
And so I did, I gripped the rope tight and dragged myself across, I was used to something like this back when I was a guard, the training was hell but it did make me much stronger, I'll give it that.
As I was crossing, I looked down, now lizards don't get scared but we can feel uneasy and stressed, this was definitely one of those times. I kept going but it constantly felt like I was slipping off the rope, grabbing it wrong would lead to me foolishly dying in front of these lesser beings.
so through all the stress, I had made it to the other side, I proudly turned around and said
"wasn't that hard, if your such a manly dwarf then cross it" to my surprise, Thogar shrugged and simply crossed like it was no big deal. Must be because he's so light.
Allistor was next and he looked extremely nervous, he put his clammy hands around the rope and crossed, he let out a breath of relief once he got across. We all turned around to face the castle and the hulking doors that were battered, time and time again but still standing.
"Beautiful ain't it, you know this is where the final battle of the war of life took place right? it's a magnificent tale to hear" Thogar looked up in awe at the castle, probably some foolish childhood dream to be here.
for the first time in a while Allistor spoke
"It really is huh, well we should probably get a move on before somebody sees us. Never know what kind of people lurk around here."
and so we walked through one of the holes in the door and entered the dark castle, wondering what lies in wait for us.
