Hm? You want to hear the Legend of Lefty? Alright. I can tell it again.
Long ago, on the majestic Isle of Att, there arose a great and powerful evil. An inhuman force of tyranny and destruction which cast the continent into chaos, and waged a Dark War against all who walk the earth.
Legends tell… that when all hope seemed lost, a lone hero rose up to oppose the darkness. A great warrior, who's strength and cunning freed Att from the cold winds of death, and brought about an age of unparalleled peace and prosperity.
This... is not that story.
It’s connected to that story, but The Legend of Lefty takes place a while after that, in a post-darkness world that hadn’t known any “great evils”. I mean, don’t get me wrong, there were still bandits, and bigots, and a fair amount of political strife. Some unfortunate people wallowed in poverty, while others lived lives of splendor. And in a few places… wise elders were mistreated by people they cared about! … but aside from that, most of the land’s inhabitants were… fine. Thanks to the actions of that hero, they didn't have to experience the horrors of war, or live through any of its soul-crushing side effects like famine or pestilence. All in all it was a pretty good time to live, if not a bit boring

Of course, things never remain boring for long do they? It seems like someone always finds a way to… shake things up. And that’s where Lefty comes in. He came of age in that time of great stability, long after the Dark War had ended and its hero turned king was laid to rest. He was not born into interesting times, but he was determined to make them interesting. And to understand why he did that, and how, we need to travel back to when he was naught but a naive young sand miner, living in a town that was strange beyond belief.
