Thank you everyone, for your patience. I've finally posted my newest story, which I'm calling Legacy Unbroken.
This is the intro blurb:
----------------------------------------
For six generations, his family has held the title of Hero of Farathun. Now, his father lies dead, dishonored, stripped of his title. He is only a boy, untested, unnamed, unready to take up his father's sword.
But that doesn't matter, because he has a plan. Three simple steps.
1) Master the sword
2) Earn his name
3) Take back his father's title
It doesn't matter that it's impossible. It doesn't matter what challenges he will face. His family's legacy will continue, unbroken.
But when opportunity comes knocking at his door, will he be ready to seize it?
When a new teacher finds him, and challenges all that he thought was true, the boy is whisked away on an adventure that will take him far beyond the bounds of his home. He'll learn, and grow, and gain strength. He will find his place in the wider world, and leave his mark in history.
Or die trying.

I've got the story fully plotted out, beginning to end. I expect it will take around 8 months or so to finish, so the Law of Averages will be returning early next year. I've been working really this month to crank out chapters, so expect frequent posts. Two or three times per week most likely.
Legacy Unbroken is high fantasy, rather than science fiction. I completely understand if that's not your cup of tea, but for those of you who enjoy a good ol' fashioned Hero's Journey filled with swords and (sort of) sorcery, I'd encourage you to check it out. For the rest of my fans, sit tight, and the Law of Averages will be back before you know it!
My Patreon will also be changing. The excitement of starting up a new story has made me massively productive, and I've found myself with a decent number of chapters saved up. For the Law of Averages, I only offered 3 extra chapters on my Patreon. I haven't finalized this yet, but that number will probably go up to 10 or more for Legacy Unbroken.
Again, I'm not offering that many quite yet, mostly because I worry about splitting my audience. I enjoy reading comments and theories, and it's nice to see you all argue with each other's ideas. I'd really like people's opinions on this proposed change. Many stories I read offer 10-20 chapters extra on Patreon, and don't seem to suffer for it, but I want to hear the opinions of my audience. The extra income would certainly be nice, I must admit.
If everything is kosher, and I am able to consistently maintain my current writing speed, then LoA will also see an increase in bonus chapters once it returns.
Once again, thank you everyone for your support. I never expected this story to grow so much. We've consistently sat in the top 40 stories on the rankings, and I have nearly 3000 followers. I am immensely greatful to each and every one of you. Nothing makes me want to write more, than knowing people want to read my work.
As always, comments and criticisms are welcome.
I hope you enjoyed reading the Law of Averages.
Thank you, stay safe, and I hope to see you all in Legacy Unbroken!
