In the history dragons rampaged a lot of times. During the Imperial Golden Age or as some call it „Before Great Dragon Rampage”, studies in the field of magic were led by a lot of small groups. The biggest one of all this groups was the sect of truth-seekers, those which main field of study was the dark art of Thaumaturgy. Their research subject were many, but with every completed one they strayed further from our world and started examining the Void. The supposedly empty dimension named Void, by The Great Thaumaturge Hockenheim Orkl, the one who predicted The Great Dragon Rampage in the year 598 of Imperial calendar or 100 years b.g.d.r..

“Okay that’ll be it for today kids” – Professor Stornel stopped his history lesson with those words.

Kids with visible dissatisfaction on their faces started swarming the scholar. Only one kid was getting ready to sleep, he was around five years old, had black hair and beer coloured eyes. His figure emitted some kind of mysterious energy. It intrigued professor, when he was going home he asked the caretaker about the kid.

Caretaker told professor that he was supposedly a child of void believers and was supposedly experimented on, but no one from the orphanage really knew because he came here with a hooded man that vanished as suddenly as he appeared. Caretaker told scholar that the kids name is Gerd.

After hearing everything from her Stornel went home and started looking through books. In one of his tomes from forbidden section he found research on voids mana and its work with our worlds mana. There he found out that those two types of mana collide with each other making it impossible to use void as mana battery. Yet he clearly felt voids presence from Gerd. “I should look through newer records on void”. – Mumbled Stornel.

During next ten years professor Stornel travelled through ruined research facilities of truth-seekers, looking for clues on how could Gerd emanate such aura, when he stumbled upon a book hidden away in stash of monastery of order of the damned. The book told about art of thaumaturgy which focuses on mixing arts of alchemy, arcane infusion, golemancy, auromancy, artifice and eldritch knowledge.
