Its cold, the noises around are fuzzy and unclear... I'm on my knees hands on the ground panting breathing heavily and my vision is black. Slowly I brought my self up among the chaos of fuzziness around me and little by little the voices are becoming clearer and I'm beginning to see and at that moment I wish I didn't see
It was total havoc
Men left and right are being slaughtered, swords through hearts, blood everywhere and the smell was awful.
This is what war is
Slashing sounds of metal hitting metal ringing in my ears
I remained frozen in my place processing my surroundings and finally realizing I'm in the middle of a battlefield, I grabbed my sword that was lying near me on the ground grasping it firmly in my hands and as I did that I heard a battle cry coming from behind me. I adjusted my stance and rotated on the ball of my foot twisting my waist to turn right and in one fluid motion I sliced clean through the man's armor giving him a slow and agonizing death until he bleeds to die.
I started running slashing through enemies left and right trying to look for my friends on this barren battlefield filled with bloody corpses, everyone had fear in their eyes only very few were composed, war truly is terrifying. Glancing left and right I saw three enemy soldiers wearing their enemy nation insignia on their armors terrorizing almost torturing one of ours...
Suddenly I realized it, he was my friend Alaric
I gathered 'energy' strengthened and augmented my body and lashed forward in a strike with all my might towards the enemy that was in the middle, in one strike I slashed him half way into two from his head until his solar plexus. As if my body took control of me it felt as if I wasn't controlling it, but just a mere spectator looking from a window I quickly ran my sword towards the man on my right through his chest plate into his heart and he tried to say something as blood was gushing outside his mouth, I couldn't care less, I forced my sword out and threw my sword like a spear towards the last man as he remained motionless during this encounter he now fell lying cold in the ground
I looked towards my long time friend and companion Alaric, his expressions radiating fear and anxiety as he was covering with his right hand a slash wound on his arm, he looked pretty beat up holding back tears on the ground, I reached my hand out to him coming closer but
There was resistance
Something pulling me away
I opened my eyes
Sweating heavily on the bed of a Inn, in the town I was resting in...
Another dream of the war.
I calmed down looking at the roof, its been a year since that battle and still I relive them everyday its starting to bother me, but its a reminder for me, to take back vengeance and restore peace to all those who have fallen on the battle of Devils Strait, to bring peace to all 100,000 men who lost their lives fighting this pointless war. Blackwood I vowed that day I will kill you and I will there is no day that passes by without me always thinking about that you damn retched being you and all your sinister family
I got up out of bed and prepared to leave the Inn and meet up with someone who will get me closer to Blackwood, the recruiter who hired us under the name of Blackwood. I heard he stays at a bar not too far away from here more near the center of the town.

The town was on the lower side of state not really rich as it was in a area not many merchants or travelers pass by so the quality of the inn and my room wasn't something worth remembering a bed and a door. I put on my light armor and a cloak on top with my sword on my side and got out of my room. There was a mirror in front of the room in the hallway I took a moment and reflected on my self
Is that what you are now Dorian? I asked myself
"Look at you" I told myself aloud
Where did my my long brown hair go, my smile... my joy
I removed these thoughts from my mind they are distractions, you need to avenge your friends Dorian and the other thousands who fell that day...
I took one last look at my face remembering what little of how it used to be
I headed off and left the Inn and put the hood on and proceeded to my location the bar
Its a silent walk as usual only background noise from pedestrians walking by past me, my head looking straight forward as I continued to walk alone quietly passively gathering 'energy' on my way because you can never be too sure
Since that one year break from being a mercenary and now a assassin you could say I've increased my 'energy' reserves two times and I can maintain a augmented state for much longer and increase all my human capabilities better than or on par with skilled warriors and war heroes you hear pop up every few days.
The ongoing conflict has been going on for three years now between The Vale under the rule of the Vale noble family and their Leonard Vale and Thornvale distant cousins of The Vale bloodline, they established themselves as a house a few hundred years ago now under the name Thorne and their leader Lucan Thorne, recently Goldenspire under the rule of Viktor Helios arguably the most influential nation on the continent have joined this conflict seeking to see an end to it, but its been a year and still the bloodshed hasn't decreased...
Its not mine to end but Blackwood name and legacy is mine to erase
Although I've been recruited to fight for the Thornvale side I don't have much against them. It was my past blindness that didn't show me what we were getting ourselves into. A battle where the terrain was against us and many influential names were against us on the field, and that damned recruiter made me ignore all that and I believed, he sent my friends to certain death that day, and I'm the only survivor, I should've died that day with them...
I bumped into something, looking up it was someone a tall brute body type man almost not human sized with his much more human sized friend besides him. "Are you okay? Are you lost sir?" the brute said in a deep but calm voice. Sensing no hostility I didn't want any commotion when the bar was already in sight "No excuse me, sorry for bumping" I told him as I passed by him and his friend on my way to the bar
All my thoughts went to halt as my main goal that is always haunting emerged in my mind
Vengeance
The death of my friends
Blackwood
All emerged in my mind as I got nearer to the door of the bar
I got in and scanned the place and I found him
That nasty scar on his face gave him away right on his forehead I saw him drunk looking at me
The Recruiter
I calmly got closer to him and sat next to him on the bar
He looked at me curiously as my cloak and hood hid my appearance and shape
I looked back at him with one eye in the light straight dead in his drunk face enough to kill someone with my gaze
"...remember me?"
