chapter 4, arriving at the house

chapter 4, arriving at the house

Senia stopped in front of a house and destroyed the door, entering. She looked around the small room, where benches lined the corners and skeletons lay on each one. A baby lay unconscious in the center of the room.

Senia flew around the benches where the skeletons sat, careful not to disturb them. She picked up the baby with her beak and flew away. After exiting the room, she began to sing, letting out cries like tones. The door repaired itself, and Senia gently moved her beak to place the baby on her back.

She spread her wings and picked up speed, ascending from the ground. She flew north, then stopped near a wall and began to descend slowly. After descending, she let out a cry, her pitch rising until the wall shone. She then began to ascend again and continued flying north.

After several days, Senia reached a city and began to ascend higher and higher.

Note: The cities on this continent have two floors: the first floor for poor cultivators, and the second floor for nobles and rulers.

Senia stopped near a house and descended. A tall man with long white hair that reached his shoulders, wearing a purple shirt and black pants, took the baby from her back and waved at her. Senia raised her right wing in respect, then turned and flew back the way she came. The door closed behind her.
