My body shuddered as I read the number of points I had again. Currently, my mind has kicked into overdrive trying to figure out what exactly happened until now. I remember flying on my rocket enjoying the peace and quiet and then all the sudden the alarms started to scream bloody mary at me. Apparently, my trajectory had changed towards the sun and no matter what I did I couldn't change it back. Accepting death was nearing I closed my eyes and thought about my few remaining memories of my parents. For some reason, I wasn't panicking on the surface, but inside I was shitting myself. My body was cold and stiff. Then the sun's heat started to devour me and my agonising screams kicked in as I felt my blood boil and start to kill me inside out. 3rd degree burns quickly formed over all my body as the rocket fell apart around me. Then there was a spark and the feeling of a vacuum forming where my chest should be. The last thing I remember seeing is the sun slowly being sucked into my chest before a massive explosion happened and I died. Now we are up to date.
Another shudder rushed through my body as I tried figuring out what had happened. The idea of wiping out the whole of the human race was the main point. I look down to see my shaking hands. "I killed everyone. I killed someone. In an attempt to save everyone, I managed to kill everyone." My body slumped to the floor as I brought my knees up to my chest and started to rock back forth.
After what had felt like centuries my body finally stopped shuddering every second or two. Bringing my head out from between my knees I peer around the room trying to figure out where I am. The first thing I noticed after my head finally cleared up, was the fact that I wasn’t in a room. From what I could guess I am currently floating in the middle of space. Using my hands I feel for the thing supporting me. All I could find was a cold surface, but this could just be space for all I know. The area was definitely a lot more beautiful hands-on in comparison to looking through a window.
The creepy silence was broken by a deep cough. With frighting reflexes, my neck snapped around so I could look behind me. An ordinary man in a black business suit stood not too far away. His medium length black hair was groomed neatly and his dark brown eyes gave off a very professional vibe. While I was busy checking out the man he started to speak.
“Welcome to the afterlife, I am your Information Entity. If you have any questions please ask now before the transmigration process begins.”
A lifeless voice travelled throughout the space. It was as if the man was some sort of translator software that someone had tried to make the voice more lifelike. The voice sounds human, but it had no life in it. As if the voice came out of a corpse. Was actually a little creepy.
“Um hi, where are we?”
The Information Entity looked me in the eyes and then proceeded to role his lifeless ones. Please tell me I do not just get sassed by a customer service robot.
“As I previously stated you are in the afterlife. Or in other terms, you are in the death realm.”
Well, I had already guessed that I was dead. Although I really would have preferred a more informative answer; for example, I wouldn’t mind knowing what the hell this death realm is. Like, am I in heaven? This seems more like Bardo as it mentioned earlier about a transmigration process.
“What’s the transmigration process exactly?”
The Information Entity paused for a second as if to think how to phrase the explanation so the simpleton could understand it. You know what’s really creepy? This guy hasn’t blinked once. Like sure he is some sort of robot thing, but surely if they put so much effort in the voice they could spare a minute to implement blinking.
“The transmigration process is the basic procedure of taking a soul and putting it in an empty body on another planet. Currently, the program is booting so I’m filling the time with this Q&A. Your constant crying was annoying me so I made it so your mind was calm as you might have noticed.”
Now that I think about it I am awfully calm right now. Don’t appreciate the fact that the robot thought my raw emotions were annoying, but I’m a little thankful. From the sounds of it, this process is a program of sorts since it has to boot up. Then it was designed by someone, but what for? Obviously to put a soul in a new body on another planet, but why does it need to?
“Why does this process exist?”
“All of the higher realms were getting full. So we started to recycle the lower realms souls instead of sending them up to the higher ones after death. This process will keep running until the higher realms start to clear up. Luckily we don’t have to worry about the lower realms getting overpopulated because they are infinite.”
So, in other words, the higher realms aren’t infinite like the lower realms and so obviously they got overpopulated. What kind of dumb design was that? Clearly, the person who designed it wasn’t thinking.
“What happens in the process exactly?”
“The soul goes through examination. Their life deeds are totalled up into a score so that they can be given a body that is worthy of their merits. For example. If you helped cure a viral disease you would have very high scores or if you managed to wipe out a whole universe you would have a very high score. Good job on that by the way.”
“Umm Thank you, so how long until this process starts?”
“Roughly 6 more hours”
A string of muttered curse words followed behind the Informed Entities response. Well, I might as well sleep while I wait. With this calm mind trick currently being used on me, it shouldn’t be hard to fall asleep. Never have refused a good nap.
Roughly 6 Hours Later
Sleepiness was quickly removed from my system as I felt my body hurtling through the air or should I say through space. Just as I was about to open my eyes I felt my body slam to an abrupt stop. Worst wake up call EVER!
“Sorry for the wait, the Transmigration Process has begun. Questions will no longer be answered. This message will not be repeated so shut your trap and start listening.”

An image of a male appeared in front of me. From first glance, you could tell the body was of an athlete. The muscles weren’t massive, but they were well defined as if they were used thoroughly every day, but not trained. They weren’t bulky, but they weren’t on the incredibly thin side either, a perfect middle ground. Medium length brown hair was displayed messily on his head. Although it was unkept it didn’t look bad. Vibrant green eyes stood out from the slightly tanned skin. A few flecks of yellow and brown could be seen dotted around the iris. The body seemed to be around 16 years old. Although the body looked human you could see slight differences. For example, there were slight markings on the arms that looked like tribal tattoos. The vibrant green eyes also glowed ever so slightly. Dark Red veins could be seen through the copper skin on the forearms.
“After your soul was examined and all of your deeds were taken into consideration this body has been provided for you. The body is nearly indestructible from the inside. In other words, you won’t have any problems storing a large amount of energy. The biggest mana pool possible, for your race, is in your chest. Ah, the body belongs to the alpha race. The Alpha race is the most advanced humanoid race on the planet you will be sent to. Sadly, you are the only Alpha so you will never have a pure offspring.”
A list of sorts appeared next. Judging from the words listed I could slightly guess what these were, skills. They weren’t displayed in some sort of status screen though so I couldn’t be completely sure.
“Every soul is given between 5 and 10 skills before they are transferred over. As your score was record-breaking you managed to snag yourself some seriously overpowered skills. I’ll give you a brief description of each one.
Instant Mastery:
This passive Skill allows you to master everything instantly. Doesn’t matter what it is; you will be able to do it at the level of an expert.
Perfect Recall:
A pretty straightforward passive skill. You can recall anything you have seen in your souls lifetime.
All Language:
As the name suggests you can understand every language. Those pesky ruins will not hold a candle to your universal google translator.
Vibe Detective:
A passive skill that gives you an overall vibe. The vibe is displayed with colours. A good vibe will appear as yellow. Blood Lust will appear as red. Greed will appear as green. Jealousy will appear as blue. Two faced will appear as black.
Copper Skin:
This passive skill makes your body as tough as copper naturally. This allows for you take weak blunt force damage without a problem. Those beginner mobs won't be able to pierce your skin.
Tungsten Skin:
An active skill that makes your skin as tough as Tungsten. Blunt force attacks are practically useless and range attacks can’t damage you.
Titan Regeneration:
An active skill that temporarily gives you the regenerative ability of the extinct titan race. You can recover from any wound or illness as long as you have the mana. Not a passive skill due to Alpha mana pool limit.
Map:
An active skill that gives you a virtual map of the Sollus. This also allows you to set a waypoint for easy travel. Updates every time you activate it.”
The image of the body disappeared as a 3D image of a planet appeared in front of me. As the planet spun around I noticed that it was very similar looking to a primitive Earth. In other words, it was very blue and green, but without the lights. Unlike Earth, there were some black patches scattered across the world.
“This planet is called Solus. Although the planet is considered primitive technology wise it is fairly advanced in magic. The planet's atmosphere is 34.6% oxygen so you won’t have problem breathing. There are a total of 6 races on Solus. Humans, Elves, Dwarfs, Demons, Avians and Monsters. Well, 7 if you include yourself I guess. Most of the living land is occupied by the Humans, Elves, Dwarfs and monsters. Although Avians tend to prefer living in the air you can find a couple living on the surface. Demons will usually stick to the dead parts of the planet. Those are the black bits. Despite them being called deadzones they do no actual damage to the planet.”
A diagram of all 6 races appeared on the screen. The monster slot was shown as a dragon which probably means it’s the strongest monster on the planet. As you would expect the races kept their standard characteristics. The human didn’t look very special although it was the tallet of the humanoid races. The Elf was slightly shorter than the human, but it looked a lot agiler and had its undeniable beauty. The Dwarf was obviously the shortest of the races and it had a very stocky build with a lot of facial hair. For some reason, I felt the compulsion to reach out and stroke its beard. Demons definitely took me by surprise, they weren’t as tall as humans, but they definitely beat the elves. Although they weren’t as beautiful as elves they definitely came second. They looked a lot like humans except the slit eyes and small horns on their heads. Avians looked like humans, but with wings sprouting from their backs and slightly large noses.
“Now a little bit of information on race conflicts. The Humans, Elves and Dwarfs are all allied together against the Demons. Avians tend to avoid conflict. Monsters see everyone as fair game. The reason the three races are allied against the Demons is that in large groups the Demons naturally corrupt the planet. Once the area is corrupted you can’t plant food that is edible for the Humans, Elves, Dwarfs and Avians. In the early ages of Solus when religion was a core influencer in the alliance it managed to convince the public that the Demons were sent to corrupt the God Of Creations land. Now, this is clearly bullshit as there is no such thing as Gods. The Information Entities run the lower realms. Once the public was brainwashed they naturally declared war on the Demons. At first the Demons only wanted to peace and so they didn’t fight back, but in the end, they had to push the other races back as they started enslaving them. Currently, the war is on the back burner, but it seems to be brewing again as of recently.”
These Informed Entities really seemed to overestimate my ability to cram knowledge into my brain. Although from what I’ve gathered Demons are a race that needs to be pitied. Given the chance, I wouldn’t mind helping them. I’m sure the alliance won’t care all that much if I decide to ally myself with the Demons. For now, I need to find out more information on the Avians and see if there are any intelligent monsters. An image of different coins appeared this time.
“This category is simply so straightforward that a slab of wood could understand it. There are 3 different coins. The coins are a universal currency. Copper has the lowest value, 100 copper is equal to 1 silver. An average family spends roughly 5 silver a day. 100 silver is equal to 1 gold. An averagely sized house costs about 10 Gold coins.”
Unlike usual there wasn’t a pause after the explanation had finished. Almost as if the process was being rushed. Wonder if it’s because the boot up took so long or something?
“The Transmigration process has been completed. Please announce the place you wish to start”
There wasn’t really much of a choice. The alliance seemed to be very brutal towards other races so I definitely wasn’t going to start off there. Avians was a possibility, but I don’t think I can fly. The only thing that remained was either the wilderness or the Demon country. Wilderness is probably for the best as I don’t know what will happen if I have no money in a Demon country.
“Wilderness in between the Demon and Dwarf Country!”
Once again my body was hurled through space. Although this time I didn’t manage to keep myself conscious. All that I heard before passing out was “See you next time.”.
