"Hey! Freya wait up or else I'll tell the grandmaster you were being mean again!"
"Urgghhh why did she have to tag along again" Freya muttered under her breath "Pick up the pace Eli it's almost sundown, the beasts are very active at night"
Freya jumped over a cliff and sliding down the rough mountainside. She slung her bow over her small shoulders, held it with her left hand, and used her delicate pale right hand to pull an arrow from the quiver on her back.
She knocked the arrow onto the bowstring, pulled it expertly as she took a deep breath. Freya breathed out and released the bowstring 'twang' .
'Shuu' The arrow soared through the air and pierced through a tree across the cliff with pin point accuracy. Using a rope attached to the arrow, Freya swung herself off the mountainside . She felt free as she soared through the air, her loose robes fluttering behind her like wings. She gripped the rope with both hands, feeling the thrill of the wind in her hair and the sun on her face. She laughed as she swung higher and higher, reaching for the sky. She was a bird, a plane, a feather in the sky.
"Oh crap I forgot what to consider landing" Freya thought as she looked at the scenery below her. An endless forest with all kinds of trees and plants. "how about..."
Before she could think of anything, Freya felt a sudden jolt as she landed in a tree, a branch snapped under her weight as she tried to balance herself under an unknown power. She had no time to scream or brace herself as she plummeted towards the ground. But instead of crashing hard, a gentle wind cushioned her fall, spreading outwards from the point of contact. As if carried by the wind ,she came to a graceful stop, her steel blue hair coming down behind hair onto the small of her back. Freya's ears were long and pointed, a feature she shares with her younger sister and a sign of their elvin lineage.
"Wow real smooth sis. Now please tell me how I'm getting down there from up here" a not so exited Eli commented.

"you have your bow and rope don't you?, try and do what I did"
"I'm pretty sure I'd die, I'm an initiate and you're in the middle staged of intermediate rank, that's big difference in ranks you know"
Freya just rolled her eyes at Eli's usual drama.
She stood at the edge of the cliff, her eyes fixed on her little sister. She raised her left hand, palm facing the sky, and whispered a word of power. A gust of cold wind swept over her, and she felt a surge of magic in her veins. She lowered her hand, pointed at the cliff above. A thin stream of frost emerged from her fingertips, tracing a line of ice on the rocky surface. She moved her hands in a circular motion, creating a spiral staircase of frozen steps. She smiled, satisfied with her work, and beckoned her younger sibling to walk done the staircase.
"thank you sis"
Eli had a short stature, but she had a confident posture that made her seem taller. Her body was fit and muscular, the result of years of training and discipline. Her hair was a striking platinum silver, cut in a sleek bob cut that framed her face. Her eyes were a piercing blue, and her lips were a soft pink. She had a style that was both elegant and edgy, mixing classic and modern elements. She wore tight shorts and a crop top, showing off her toned body. She didn't care about the cold, she smiled, and quickened her pace, eager to get to her sister.
"Hey big sis teach me how to shoot like you did, will you? that was soooo cool!" an overexcited Eli exclaimed.
Before Freya could answer though, 'crack', a snap sounded, and Eli felt the ground tremble beneath her feet. She looked back, and saw a jagged line running across the edge of the cliff. She realized, with horror, that the ice was breaking, and that she was standing on a thin slab that was about to fall. She tried to move, to jump back to safety, but it was too late. The ice gave way, and a blood-curdling scream echoed through the dark forest and it sent chills down Freya's spine.
"Eli... ! "
