Chapter II; Abnormalities of parallel worlds — Part I

Everything is blank. Just like every pattern to every Isekai show. After that, I’ll meet a God, but things might become dangerous if I carelessly wished for anything. No, that sort of God is no other than a demon pretending to be a God.

“Why are your thoughts being blank?”

“I don’t have anything to say to a God. No, A false God.”

Life would be easier if I could blend to everyone. Pretending to be strong while holding to your own weakness. That was supposed to be my plan.

“Aren’t you just being a coward?”

“It’s rude for you to invade the insides of my mind.”

I can hear his soft chuckles as if my words were a joke.

“Why would a God such as yourself grant God-like powers to us? Isn’t that just throwing away your responsibility to others?”

“I’ll leave that to your imagination.”

“The kind of person who enjoys watching my fate is nothing more than a scum. He prioritizes only who has faith to him.  What about the non-believers? You are far too cruel to discard them away like toys.”

“Oh?”

“Don’t you enjoy the life of having corrupted slaves serving you?”

“I’m getting tired of your skewed sense of justice. A human like you would never suppress his own love and forward as if his past didn’t happen. In short, you yearn for corruption.”

“Should I thank you for profiling my whole being? I feel bad for you. You only care at the end when you mishandle things.”

“Thinking about your views about me, it seems you lack faith. If ever, unlike from others, I’ll grant you an exception.”

“Exception? I can’t believe someone who has the power to change everything can’t even properly manage his own people—changed his mind.”

“Indeed.”

“Well, why are you born and rule as out of the bat? You’re no different from a kid who have a gun and wants to kill anything on his way”

“Are you saying if humans have the choice to become their own Gods, they can fulfill my responsibility better?”

“Wait!”

“Basically, your lack of faith is because you are contented that people will feel guilt by doing misdeeds. Those types of person are those who value immediate emotional impulse over logic that prevents them from doing misdeeds again. Am I right?”

“What?”

“You live in a world where technology can solve everything, a promising future, and a safe society.”

“What are you planning to do!?”

“If I put you in between in what you call: Corrupted slaves serving me and took away your good qualities— Will you seek faith and ask for my help?”

“I reject the fate that God bestowed upon me!”

“You’ll forget our conversation, but you’ll still remember me. Well, I promise you that I’ll be better depending on your actions.”

I can’t see him anymore. Is that a hand? No! I don’t want to die yet! I gasped for air but over time it’s becoming difficult.

“You shall be brought down to a world where you’re not supposed to exist and come to know the entire world is your enemy!”

I could barely see my feet. Is this the fragments of me? They’re slowly breaking apart. It seems I still couldn’t compete with a God. This is just an illusion to make me believe a false ideology!

“I expect you to die again, Half-demon.”

As beings from another world, this is Evanslei kingdom and year 420 of Holy Vecherienne calendar. Since, this is an unforeseen event, I’d like both of you to wait here and let our Majesty assess and handle this situation.

Tame? Is that a joke? Or does she know how this world works? I think it’s best to follow her pace for now.

Please watch them carefully.

High Royal Guard commanded*

Yes, sir!

Royal Guard remained at the ruined tower to keep an eye to the newly summoned heroes*

“One thing, we need to settle in before meeting the majesty. Also, warm clothes as well.”

Izuna insisted to the High Royal Guard who was about to leave.

“Make sure to relay my message with clear detail to Our Majesty.”

Gevanni asked politely despite the High Royal Guard staring at him like throwing daggers.

The High royal guard stayed and listened to Gevanni.

I know it’s a selfish request but if no one knew my goal, this kingdom is done for. I guess we’ll join the Demon faction if they refused.

Who would even want to be raised as a meat shield?

Gevanni thought inside his mind.

“An odd demon. Blue-eyed Black-haired man… Impossible?”

The other royal guards that was left to watch Gevanni and Izuna mumbled to each other.

“Shhh! If you shout his name, you might die”

Describe trip*

Describe environment*

Flashback*

A line of royal guards facing each other in parallel. They raised their swords as if welcoming an important person.

Our Majesty received and accepted your request. We will take both of you to His Royal Palace as Our dear guest from another country.

Please follow me.

The high royal guard commanded and escorted the newly summoned heroes, Gevanni and Izuna.

Carriage*

Hey, Gevanni. I covered my ears like what you’ve said but what did you do during that time?

Izuna wondered.

Just a mere sweet talk from a demon.

Gevanni said with a clear smug on his face.

Oh? I’d say you did a fine job… I-I feel dizzy… I used a lot of mana.

For a brief moment, Izuna touched her forehead.

It’s great she didn’t hear the Majesty’s announcement. I never expect that I evaded a hostile continent. I don’t want this to affect her job later on— Clearing the misunderstandings.

Gevanni thought.

Castle description*

Welcome to Evanslei royal palace… Ah! A demon!?

A person who is likely some sort of ambassador who supposed to greet nicely the newly summoned heroes turned into disgust. He stepped back.

Gevanni tail and small horns of Izuna

I don’t care what kind of demons are to this world, but as you can see, do we even have the image of trashing this place?

Gevanni told him with confidence. Most of the visitors in that place were fixated to Gevanni and Izuna.

Indeed. No, you all don’t. Please pardon my rude behavior.

That person fixed his tie and regained his composure.

In the same moment, a mysterious person descends. Their long snow white hair gracefully swings in the hair.

A butler? What’s with that crystal thing floating over his head? No, maybe he’s a woman? I can’t tell.

Gevanni murmured.

What makes him different from anyone else is that this unusual vibe of fear. To be precisely— A real Demon. It’s almost the same vibe when I first met Izuna. I don’t know whether to be happy if one my demon kin is here or be scared that I’m also a part of them.

Gevanni carefully analyzed the mysterious person.

White haired Rapunzel!

Izuna shouted. It made Gevanni nod his face sideways.

It’s really creeping me out when I know there’s a 30 year old inside you. Christmas Cake...

Gevanni jokingly said.

That's rude!

Izuna stomped her feet.

On your way to Advent Mogarellia, Professor?

The person who welcomed Gevanni and Izuna changed his tone. It's as if he felt secured.

Feomi, I suppose you have to guide those nasty demons— Oh my, that slipped out. I mean Hero candidates.

The professor bows with a hint of hesitation to Gevanni and Izuna and leaves*

Once again, I am Feomi Pencaster, head of the noble house of Pencaster. We are responsible for hero candidates from another world to settle quickly.

Feomi subtly guides the way. Gevanni and Izuna followed him.

I’m kind of thirsty. Aww. That trip is so long.

Izuna commented as she gaze around the paintings above the ceiling.

Is it plausible for you two to introduce yourselves? Formally?

Feomi stopped for a moment. In front of him is a huge door filled with intricate decorations made of gold.

This is a different world. If I let too much information about me, I’m sure it would backfire and perhaps attract those who are out for my blood.

Gevanni quickly thought.

Theo. Theo Ambrosia. A man who makes miracles.

Gevanni boldly said.

As expected of an outsider. How strange yet magnificent name!

For a moment, Feomi smiles.

It seems our world’s mythology is not well known in this fantasy world.

Gevanni thought on his mind.

Are you sure you want to give them fake alias?

Izuna murmured beside him.

I’ll explain it later.

Feomi opened the door after Izuna used her real name and occupation.

You may not believe me; I’m well versed with Trade Industry and in fact a founder in our world. Although, information exchange is what I do the most.

Feomi gritted his teeth and let a short "tsk! Lies of a demon"

Gevanni discarded that rude behavior. Izuna is still in awe about the art around her.

It sounds very professional but in reality, it’s just I spend a lot of time in an online community forum.

Gevanni thought on his mind.

I see. You can remain your composure despite being a young adult. I feel glad that someone shares the same problems as I do.

Feomi opens another door.

Demanding and short temper clients, right?

Gevanni jokingly asked.

Gevanni and Feomi laughs*

Well then. We’ll proceed to the dining hall before we do the actual paperwork. After all, it would be a problem if someone were to pretend as you.

It is clear as day to Gevanni that it would be difficult to mess around in this strict kingdom.

To our Majesty, as heroes from another world we are cultured with these events for it is our everyday living. I’m talking about the potential fake Hero candidates and possible Hero killers. I suggest that we should break ties from people whose our trust is being questioned immediately. I’m fully aware that my words as part of demon lineage, it holds no meaning. That’s why there is only one thing that makes us agree to one another. A temporary truce after you broke ties with those people I mentioned earlier.

The high royal guard delivered the message to the king.

I must be getting frail if someone had the guts to say that to me.

King practices sword swings*

We summoned a half-demon instead. That is unheard of.

With a quick slash, all of the practice targets were reduced into fine sand.

Yes, just like what you’ve said.

The high royal guard commented.

I fear no man, but I don’t want to assume things. This person who asked you to deliver this message— Describe him.

The king looked into his sword. Cracks starts to appear.

You’re in the presence of our King. Why are you trembling with fear?

The prince asked the high royal guard.

The King's sword shattered.

Ernest… That was unnecessary. Don’t pressure him further.

The King received another sword from the royal guard and practiced his sword swings again.

Please forgive my rude behavior, My King.

The high royal guard faced the king without fear. The king swung his sword heavily.

The prince barely withstood the blow. He dodged afterwards.

You are forgiven. Now, describe him, my dear messenger.

The king's sword shattered again.

I-I strongly believe h-he resemble Apocope himself. Also, he has a partner that could be a lesser demon and she look like a young child in her early hundred years or in human perspective, an adolescent.

Did he mention the date on how long he wanted the answer?

The king sat into the small staircase. He then splashed all of the water from his cup into his face.

He said that he’ll let Our Majesty do as they please.

The high royal guard offered his napkin to the King.

How many were summoned?

The king cleaned his face.

It was supposed to be 12 Hero Candidates but they’re only two.

The high royal guard handed a bunch of papers. It consists of information from Gevanni and Izuna that was acquired by Feomi Pencaster.

Perhaps the others were transported into the lesser summoning towers. Go fetch every Hero immediately.

The king stood and commanded.

Understood!

The high royal guard quickly flees.

One moment.

The high royal guard stopped.

It’s obvious that there’s no reason to turn this guy’s request. We can’t risk them going to the Demon Faction.

The king commented.

However, my Majesty, it would question our authority if we let demons roam here.

The high royal guard disagrees to the King's statement.

It’s a huge and risky gamble. We’ll take them as guests from another country. As assurance, I’ll involve the four great heroes.

The high royal guard bows and leaves*

The prince approached the King and helped him to stand up.

Father, it’s my job to fetch him too.

The prince tightens his grip. The king felt it and did the same.

Yes, we need to cast the Blessing to those half-demons.

The king and Prince wore their robes at the same time.

I heard he proposed and created that magic but why he is being imprisoned by his very own magic?

The Prince asked.

Things will be grim onwards. Ernest, Bancroft is a warlock and the progenitor of the head family of the witch cult.

The king didn't hesitated to say such a sensitive information.

That Bancroft? The one who’s responsible for great damages to this kingdom and was subjugated by Big brother Arkzell himself!?

The prince's eyes widened in surprise as he imagined the face of Bancroft.

Don’t worry. I have no hints of doubt to Bancroft. We converted him into our ally. Just like what we were about to these lesser demons.

The king pat the prince's back.

Castle halls*

Gamcys, I believe you’re not here just to sightsee…

The prince asked the old man whose beard tied in a braid.

If it isn’t Prince Ernest? I heard you’re supposed to stay at our Majesty’s side.

The old man gamcys corrected his posture.

Actually, he’s behind you.

The prince said as he pointed his finger.

That caliber of magic, are you aware of that, former witch hunter?

The king murmured.

My majesty, King Nicholas!

Old man Gamcys hop for a moment and almost tripped himself. Thankfully, he gained his balance.

Don’t act like surprised. I know you’re here because of what happened during the summoning.

The king gently caress old man gamcys' back.

Our greatest twelve sages transformed into their childlike selves and temporary fugue. Not only that, they have a unique disturbance going on in their mana cores.

Gamcys said.

If ever, that being who did that, we will have no choice but to rely at the fourth prince…

the king touched his chin wondering.

The king clenched his fist.

This pains me to resort into such a vile tactic. However, if the result is to reduce the casualties— I have no choice… to accept a demon’s deal.

The king walks away*

Big brother Arkzell… I hope he don’t overdo things.

the prince walks away too*

That troublemaker, huh? A bad last resort.

Old man gamcys commented while leaving the opposite direction that the King and Prince took.

What was father and mother thinking in making that announcement? If they were just low-level demons, we could eradicate them easily.

Prince Ernest reminiscences what happened earlier.

Dining room of Evanslei Holy grounds upper division.

From now on and henceforth, inside this place, Evanslei Royal Palace, I’ll be your translator…

Two alien-like beings/covered eyes in unison*

Let me see your hand.

Gevanni and Izuna showed their hands to the alien-like beings.

I see. In your world’s terms, I am of the same power as Sir Boogle Translator. Also, please call me anything you want as I don’t have such fancy tradition as a name.

I don’t know whether I cringe or laugh to make an impression.

Gevanni thought inside his mind. Projecting himself laughing on the spot.

Pleased to meet your Mr. Translator. I’m the newly summoned being, Theo Ambrosia.

With a stern face, Gevanni introduced himself.

There are two places we must go to first. Afterwards, I’ll be your tour.

This is the first entrance towards Our Majesty’s throne. The knights at both sides belongs to the noble house of Grimforst. That’s why you can speak to your heart’s content, for they will understand you with absolute clarity.

The alien-like being #1 hovers its hand.

It means only the nobles and royal members can understand my language?

Gevanni asked.

Yes. Although, there’s a change of plans. I’m supposed to bring you to the dressmaker first before making your first appearance to the Second Prince.

The alien-like being no#2 made a ding sound-- similar to a doorbell.

That’s why I can’t even interact with the maids and members of their lower class of hierarchy.

Gevanni reminiscences what happened earlier when Feomi Pencaster left them outside the dining room and wait for the translators.

Castle halls*

There are high royal guards at both sides. It's as if a hall dedicated to protect the doors of the King's general room.

Cursed demon! You’re in the presence of no other than, Prince Ernest Ranell Zaire Evanslei. Where are your manners?

The mysterious white-haired person from earlier shouted.

I’d say the same for you.

Gevanni said.

Bancroft Ethermason, at your service.

The mysterious person bows with a smirk on their face.

Base from his body shape, clothes, and his position beside the Prince— He must be some sort of escort or influential person. What’s up with his or her deal anyways? I haven’t done anything yet.

Gevanni carefully analyzed.

I refuse to offer my greetings to the country who attacked me first… I’m surprised that a Prince like you could bear this dog.

Gevanni said without a hint of hesitation.

What the hell are you doing, Gevanni!?

Izuna murmured as she pinch Gevanni's thigh.

It’s natural that the sages will attack you, degenerate incarnate!

Bancroft fueled the intensity that lingers in that room.

The high royal guards are alarmed but they are still standing.

Oh? It seems almost everywhere you’re hated Gevanni.

Gevanni heard a voice. He couldn't identify where it came from.

For a moment, he traced it back to the grimoire he received from Izuna.

I have no right to speak with a mere guest. We’re merely wasting our energy.  There is one thing to prevent your hostility towards the Royals. Bancroft let’s start it.

It is clear on the face of the Prince that he also hated the demons, Gevanni and Izuna.

In an instant, intricate and numerous magic sigils floated in the air.

Creation magic, Epsilon’s Prison!

Magic description*

A barrier and binding spell, huh?

Gevanni assumed.

Royal Magic Arts Series, with the weeping tears of God, thou shall discard thy malicious intent— The blessing of The Royal Majesty, Epsilon’s Prison!

A hollowed golden slave collar was formed around Gevanni's neck.

Impossible!? Only some knows about the Greek mythology!?

Gevanni acted surprised inside his mind.

Magic description*

What’s going on. Why I can’t see his face or rather its glitching and I can hear the eerie noise.

Gevanni thought.

My Prince, I know that His Majesty would not be satisfied with this. I suggest you use the other one too.

Gevanni couldn't see Bancroft's face anymore.

Magic description*

Chains were formed around the slave collar*

Both Gevanni and Izuna has slave collars and royal chains of security.

Gold chains, huh? Not only they attacked me, they want me to become a slave as well.

Fueled by temporary anger, Gevanni stared at Bancroft and the Prince fiercely.

Sir Theo, think of this as your protection. Although, this magic only prevents you to cast skills. Normally, someone like you would be accused for treason. However, you don’t belong to any nation or race even if you do resemble a part of demon and human lineage, be at ease, this kingdom will do nothing.

The alien-like being #1 tried to calm Gevanni.

Great Translator, I know you’re being neutral to any party but above else, you’re supposed to watch your words in front of us.

Professor Bancroft commanded.

I'm terribly sorry Sir Bancroft, for I, couldn’t express my apologies since this is part of King Nicholas’ contract. He believes that anyone should be treated with equity. After all, he believed that all races can co-exist if there is mutual understanding.

Bancroft sighed.

Great Translator, are you heading to the dressmaker?

The prince asked.

Yes, Prince Ernest. In fact, we should make haste since the meeting with The King and summoned beings is being held tomorrow.

Both Alien-like beings no#1 and no#2 said in unison.

Give her my greetings and tell her to make the best of her best under my name so that this young man won’t embarrass himself.

The prince asked out of courtesy.

I understood.

Both Alien-like beings no#1 and no#2 said in unison. They then escorts Gevanni and Izuna towards the Dressmaker's room.

The prince almost fell down.

Are you fine, my Prince?

Bancroft caught and asked the prince.

Just like the Legends, his presence alone is in fact and undoubtedly terrifying. Aren’t you scared as well?

The prince's face gone white. He's shaking.

If the Prince could feel it so I am. Even though it’s been ages since I witnessed Arkzell’s power, I feel this Cursed Demon is almost equal to him.

Bancroft wearily commented.

That mana aura is tremendously strong. Ever since he appeared in this room, the knights were trying to withstand their fear. I wonder how much despair did he struggle to achieve that?

Both Bancroft and the Prince remember the terrifying aura that Gevanni emits. However, Izuna has little to nothing.

There would be no answer other than… Reincarnation. He must’ve died as many times than what we can imagine. After all, The Angels of Principality from Ciel Rochieren punished him for almost 10,000 years consistently.

The prince concluded.

A painting above that hall depicting reincarnation*

It means we’re lucky enough that his real power is not awakened yet.

Bancroft agrees.

They both nods*

Bancroft, I order you to create theories on how that cursed demon would likely destroy our kingdom. Also, do this in absolute secrecy and let this information available only to the Tears of God’s Plate.

I’ve been waiting for this day to pick the fruits of my research! With all of my being, I thank you, my Prince.

I’m merely my Father’s errand boy. I don’t deserve your thanks. Also, I never knew He would take this too seriously as if he’s planning a step ahead of his enemy.

Of course, his name is no joke. After all, he bears the strength of his fallen comrades... It seems I’m saying too much. I’d like to take my leave and work now, my Prince. Farewell.

My parents. Bancroft and even the ones who I consider being the closest to me… Why are they revealing hints of their truths just because this cursed demon appeared?

My dear Royal knights, I thank you for granting my selfish request as to witness me speak with the cursed demon head-on. I applaud each one of you for remaining standing! Be proud of yourselves that no one in this room died with his presence!

All of the knights in that room offered their applause*
