Aftermath and Recovery

Once I had settled a little, I crawled out of the dungeon, still in pain. I took out my phone to make a call.

"Kei, can you help me a little? Can you also bring a change of shirt?"

Kei was the first person I thought of, since heading back home like this would cause problems for me. I had promised not to get into dangerous situations, but that's exactly what I had just done.

Running frantically, Kei reached the front gate of the school, seeing me standing there with my upper half covered in blood and a torn-up shirt.

"What were you doing? Are you exploring or trying to get yourself killed in there?" he asked.

Speechless, I couldn't find the words to explain. I had been experimenting with my powers, pushing my limits recklessly.

With sudden realization, Kei said, "I shouldn't have suggested such a reckless method." He walked behind me to check the source of the blood, the wound on my back. "Luckily, it's not a deep wound, but you still need to stop the bleeding first."

"It wasn't a reckless method, but it was me who was reckless and didn't realize pushing my body to the limit would cause such fatigue," I said.

"I see... it builds up fatigue rapidly?" he mumbled.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

The guards standing outside the dungeon gate, preventing unauthorized entry, said, "Kid, you finally got your first scar as an adventurer?"

"I don't think it's something to be proud of, sir," Kei replied.

From his tone, I could tell Kei was mad, even if he tried to hide it. He probably regretted suggesting a method that led me to be reckless.

One of the guards said, "It's indeed not a good thing. That's why it is important to remember being cautious of your actions. Anything can happen, even to veterans."

It seemed like he was referring to the incident with Zack. It might be true that Zack underestimated goblins in a group despite his skills.

Sighing, Kei said, "Hold on a minute, I'll grab something to patch you up from the school." Stopping him, I replied, "It's alright for now. I'll wear this shirt over the current one to avoid blood stains and ask one of my servants at home to help me."

"You do realize we need to disinfect it soon?" Kei replied.

Unhappy with my actions, Kei said, "Starting out as an adventurer and already causing trouble from the start? Promise me you'll take care of it."

"Alright, I promise," I replied.

After putting on the shirt over my current one, which was torn and stained with blood, I was able to hide it pretty well. We decided to walk back together. He said, "You know, I'll check up on you tomorrow at school. If I find you didn't take care of that wound, I'll call your home."

"Wait, what?" I almost screamed.

Is he for real? I would be in serious trouble if someone at home found out. *Sigh...* he really is stubborn. Well, it's not like I could be at ease with this pain. I would need to ask Sven for help again.

"Ray, the day after tomorrow we have a holiday. Are you planning to take part in the raid?" Kei asked. It wasn't just curiosity; I could see he was serious.

"Yes. I'm planning to fight in the raid. Even if it's just a little, I want to help," I replied.

_...sigh..._ After sighing, Kei said, "Alright, wait for a while after school tomorrow."

"Hmm... okay?" I replied, confused if he had something to tell me.
