"Just as I expected! The Ladyships are so beautiful in these colors!" The designer with the seamstress exclaimed as Seilah and I tried out our ball gowns.
It's the classic Victorian-era ball gowns, just like in Medieval Europe.
I'm not sure if they have great advancement in technology in this time, if they happened to have the same era as those of the Victorian era, this is something so incredible.
I may not be someone who usually wears something like this in my previous life, but I was so sure that dresses like these are one of a kind and were well made.
"This is very beautiful, you all worked very hard. Thank you, everyone." Of course, I must not forget that I'm the angelic third Lady of this house. So I must act like it. "Thank you very much, Third Lady! I was so worried when I heard that you fell from the steps of the church's—" The designer wasn't able to finish off what he was supposed to say when he noticed the faces of the people inside the hall.
Huh? Fell from the steps of the church?
Is that why it triggered my previous life's memories to be remembered again? But why didn't they told me anything about that?
"I recovered, thank you for your concern."
Even so, I must act strong.
I glanced at Maria but she only looked away. They are all hiding something from me!
I will make sure to know what this was all about!
. . .
"Maria." As soon as we arrived back at my room, I asked my lady-in-waiting about what the designer has asked me. I turned to her and saw her looking away. What happened? "What happened in the church?" I have no recollection of being injured at a church.
"Milady, you've never been in a church these past weeks."
"But that designer said that I fell-" She cut me off immediately. "That's not true, milady!" She exclaimed. I sighed.
"You know that all of you looked so suspicious, Maria. Just tell me the truth." I told her, flashing the irritation in my face.
"It was the Fourth Prince." Jaeger? What about that douchebag? "What about His Highness?" I asked her curiously. "He was spotted with some lady who disguised herself as you." I laughed, what the hell? No wonder he's the black sheep. He cheats on Frieda openly.
"I see," I said as stopped laughing. "Why are you so worried, Maria?" I asked when I saw her face, wrinkling in worry. I noticed her being surprised. "You're not mad, Milady? His Highness just cheated on you!" She said.
"It was really alright, our engagement was purely political after all." She was taken aback by my answer. Of course, Frieda was fallen head over heels in love with Jaeger so it was to be expected. But I'm not that Frieda.
"M-milady? Are you alright?" She asked I know that I'm being so different from the usual, but was she being too exaggerated?
"Maria, what does it takes to cancel an engagement?" I asked her, her eyes widened in shock. "Milady, I understand that you were being humiliated for having no control over your fiancé... But... It wasn't as easy as that. His Highness, no matter what his reputation might be, he's still part of the Royal family. It will offend the royal family, and even if not, there was a law in our kingdom, to call off a political engagement, a party who wanted to cancel it must do something far greater than the standing of their betrothed, and since he's part of the royal family, there's nothing greater than their standing." She explained to me.

"Oh? Is that how it is?" I asked as I held on to my chin, Maria nodded her head in desperation.
I guess It wasn't as easy as it seems.
Sighs, I'll figure something out.
For now, I wanted to know more about this nation. "Maria, I wanted to go out," I said out of a whim. "Wait, milady! You have to ask for His Excellency's permission! But it's impossible now since he already headed to the palace to work." She said, I pouted.
Jeez, I can't even do what I want.
"I see." I just said. "Serve me some tea, please.' I said as I sighed, once more. "As you wished, Milady." She said before leaving my room.
"Something far greater than the standing of His Highness?" I said as I held on to my chin. "What could it be?"
"M-milady!" I held my heart in surprise when Maria came back to my room, rushing. She panted as she held on to her chest.
"Maria? What's the matter?" I asked her in concern, did something bad happened? "H-his..." Huh?
"What's going on?"
"His Highnesses, the Third, and Fourth Prince have arrived!" My eyes widened in shock. What the hell!? Without any warning?
"He's looking for you, Milady." She added.
What!? No! I'm not ready to see him, right now!
"M-maria, I'm sick! Tell him that! I don't want to face him in such a state!" I told her as I run on my bed and covered myself with my blanket.
"B-but Milady---"
"Please, just do what I told you!" I screamed in panic. "As you ordered, Milady." She said before leaving my room.
I heard the doorknob of my room clicked so I peened from under my covers and found out that it was already closed.
I sighed as I sat on my bed. This situation was such a pain in the neck. Gosh!
A few moments later, I heard the door opened so I lay down on my bed in a panic. I was relieved when I found out that out was just Maria.
Goodness! I thought it was the prince!
She was holding a bouquet. "His Highness left as soon as I told him that you were sick. He wished for your fast recovery, as he left this beautiful bouquet for you." I sighed, at least he's not here anymore.
"Alright, please just put it in a vase," I said as I massage my temple in frustration. "Milady, are you alright?" She asked so I nodded.
"Please leave me now," I said.
"As you wished." I fell on my bed and covered myself with my blanket. "What a pain!" I shouted to release tension but it was useless.
Frieda Landerborne, what kind of life are you living in anyway?
