Braum frowned. Quite literally everyone he met so far in this journey of his thought of him as a little kid. Braum admitted that he was probably a naive brat at the beginning of the journey, but he did not want to stand for any further disrespects.
"I am PRINCE Braum Gundala, is this Admiral Marlina?" Braum replied over the video call.
The person on the other side of the call was an incredibly attractive woman with ocean hair. She was surprised to see who was on the video call.
"Future Supreme Leader Prince Braum! You are correct! This is me, Comrade Marlina, At your service!" After saying that, she pulled a highly exaggerated version of Yakana's 'right hand on the heart' salute. She did not seem to be perturbed that she was calling Braum a 'brat prince' before.
'She's eccentric alright...' Braum thought.
"What can this loyal comrade do for Supreme Leader? Isn't dear leader currently in the mission to retrieve former general Toziro? I would also like to meet him! I was only a wee little Private in the Navy when he was around. He was truly something else! A genuine comrade! Ashamed that they exiled him and his ten elites..." Marlina continued with an excited voice.
"*sigh* Lieutenant, explain everything." Braum motioned Kelvin to come in front of the tablet.
Kelvin explained everything that they planned about before with the team to the Admiral. Afterward, Marlina was deep in thought. She was considering whether to take the offer.
"So you want me to go over there and reveal ourselves to the Kingdom of Estalia...and basically the world? And you want me to keep it a secret with the rest of my comrades?" Marlina frowned deeply. She seemed as if she was not agreeing with the idea at all.
Braum noticed Marlina's discomfort with the idea.
"Y-yes...I thought you were an advocate for revealing Yakana to the world and spoke about it extensively with the media? isn't that right, Lieutenant?" Braum asked Kelvin.
"That's correct. The Admiral is a bit of a controversial figure in the military because of this. Many of the public seems to be in her support, though." Kelvin replied.
Marlina stayed silent deep in thoughts. Braum continued.
"Then...are you going to accept?...we'll think of someone else if you don't—"
Marlina cut off Braum in the middle of his sentence.
"Completely agreed! Do you know how long have I waited for an opportunity like this!? I'll send in my whole fleet! And don't worry, it'll stay classified! I'll get right on it right now, Goodbye Supreme Leader!" Marlina said those words in rapid succession; as if she was high on caffeine. She turned off the video call right away.
"What...." Braum was speechless. She didn't even let him finish and say his final words.
"We did tell you she's going to be eccentric..." Niko said.
"But she's fantastic! And so beautiful! I can't wait to meet her!" Urada also while being excited.
"*sigh* Alright. Lieutenant Kelvin, I want you to keep in contact with the Admiral and let me know of any progress. You two, I want you to go back to the inn and make sure the kids are okay...and let Grant and Lisa know of our presence here. I'm going to talk to Toziro. " Braum ordered the rest of his squadmates to work on achieving the plan.
Braum left the room to find Toziro. He just realized that he was not in a normal building—he's underground. There were no windows and the interior design resembled those of Yakana's unique and futuristic architecture, although the materials themselves were made out of cheaper and readily available material in such medieval and undeveloped society.
Braum found his way towards the living room down the corridor where the elevator towards the surface level was located. He saw a girl with white hair sitting down while stroking the fur of a huge white wolf. He approached the girl to ask where Toziro was.
"Hi, I don't believe we've had the pleasure of meeting each other. My name is Braum, what's yours?" Braum greeted the girl.
The white-haired girl stayed silent. She did not even turn to look at Braum. After an awkward silence, Braum greeted her again to no avail.
"Uh...do you know here Toziro is? I need to talk to him" Braum asked.
The girl still kept her silence but she suddenly motioned her left hand forward produced a white aura of battle force on her left hand. The white aura then came into the form of a small white cat.
"Meow" The white cat purred.
Braum was surprised to see the sudden appearance of the creature.
'That must be her nova...' Braum thought.
The white cat then approached Braum and bit his legs gently. The cat started to walk towards the elevator and motioned Braum to follow suit. Braum complied and went inside the elevator. The cat jumped into the air to press the button that would drive the elevator upstairs.
Braum arrived upstairs and the white cat walked outside the cottage into the forest. Braum followed the white cat for a while until he stumbled upon a river with a pouring waterfall. There, he saw Toziro, topless, in a huge boulder in the middle of the river, practicing with his sword.
(Whoooshh)
A slash of Toziro's sword created a ravine in the middle of the river and splitting the body of water into two.
(Slasshh)
Another slash upwards created a sonic boom. Toziro then turned around into the direction of the waterfall.
(Vroommm)
A slash embued with Toziro's blue battle force and Nova hit the waterfall. The waterfall switched its direction. The body of water was now falling upwards into the sky.
'The waterfall....' Braum was shocked to see this level of power.
After a while, the waterfall started going down again and Toziro sheathed his sword. He had already noticed the arrival of Braum before and approached him.
"What is it, boy? Did you get the approval to send in your troops here?" Toziro asked.
"I-I did. But it's the Navy instead under the command of Admiral Marlina. We'll need to plan our arrival from the port of Neversummer instead." Braum answered. He had not recovered from seeing the sights of Toziro's power.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Toziro grabbed a towel on the bank of the river to dry himself. His toned muscular body was bulging.
"I see. I'll let Troy know of that information right away. Let's go back to the base." Toziro said and the two walked back.
After the two of them returned and entered a room in the base that was specifically designed to hold meetings with a large long table in the middle of the room, there were two new arrivals—Grant and Lisa were there. All members of The Bodyguards and also Braum's team, The Black Hoods, were also present. Toziro approached Grant after seeing him.
"...Grant? is that you?" Toziro asked.
"Yup! How have you been holding up?" Grant went to Toziro and hugged him.
"Holy shit I didn't think I would ever see you again. This guy helped me a lot on an old case a few years ago...how long ago was it?" Toziro asked.
"5 years I think. So this is your people huh. I was quite surprised when I realized that you and Braum were from the same country. I had wondered where you got your knowledge of sciences that I didn't know about." Grant replied.
"Hahaha. You guys, this is one of the most intelligent person I've ever met, meet Grant Holmes. Please treat him well. And who is this right beside you? Did you finally get a wife?" Toziro noticed the presence of Lisa sitting next to Grant.
"As if! This dense potato wouldn't even have the courage to propose to a girl!" Lisa puffed up in anger.
"You little!...*sigh* this is a researcher from the Lancester Searcher Guild, Lisa Redflower. She insisted on coming with me here and I don't even know why" Grant introduced Lisa.
"I came here to keep you safe dummy..." Lisa said in a low voice.
"What's that?" Grant didn't quite catch what Lisa said.
"Nothing! Let's just start with the meeting!" Lisa said with a flustered face.
Everyone sat down in their respective chairs with Braum sitting on one of the far ends of the table and Toziro sitting on the other far end. Kelvin pulled out his tablet and a globe-like device out of his bag and turned it on. A hologram of the map of the continent showing the location of Yakana at the far east and Estalia at the most northwestern part of the continent was shown. Multiple red dots were also shown moving at the southern sea in the map.
"The red storm... so that's where your country is located," Grant muttered.
"As you can see, the fleet of battleships with Admiral Marlina are currently on the move, heading towards Neversummer. To be honest I don't even know how she managed to leave Yakana undetected with a whole fleet..." Kelvin explained.
"ETA?" Troy, the one-eyed man who is the strategist of the group asked.
"They'll stop around 50 kilometers from the shore of Neversummer and send in an extraction team for us so that we can board the ship. Afterward, we'll have another meeting there to plan our grand arrival into Neversummer." Kelvin answered.
"Let's get that out of the way first since we'll have to wait for the fleet to arrive to plan any further. General Toziro, I want to know the planned assassination of the king and the crown princess, how did you know that the prince is planning it exactly?" Braum asked.
"We found out from one of our operatives, I'll get Tobias, our lead tactical espionage expert to explain" Toziro motioned Tobias, a handsome man with sleek red hair to speak.
"Has any of you heard of the Duke Erlington scandal?" Tobias asked.
"Me. I heard about it when I was gathering information from the city. It's something about the Duke suddenly confessing his crimes of kidnapping peasant girls to use as his sex slaves in the middle of his own house party?...were you guys involved with the incident?" Grant asked.
"That's correct. We got the Duke to confess and released the girls. When we first arrived here...we discovered early on that while the current king is beloved by the people...some of the nobles were not so popular" Tobias explained.
"Yeah. It turns out...from our investigation...there's a secret network of corrupt nobles that will cover each other's crimes and remove them from any guilt. And currently, on the top of the hierarchy of that secret network...is Prince Vanir, who is planning the assassination of the king and crown princess." Toziro also explained.
"I see...but what's the motive? Is it because he just wants to be the next king? Wouldn't he just kill the crown princess then?" Braum asked.
"That would be true but the crown princess is the current king's favorite child...and the king knows of Prince Vanir distaste of her. If Prince Vanir just killed her, the king would connect the dots right away. But if he also killed the king...then he'll have an easier time controlling the royal court to believing that he's innocent" Tobias continued.
"And there's someone behind the Prince as well...we don't know who that is yet but that person is a key part in this assassination and the person is probably the one planning everything as well" Toziro chimed in again.
"Right...so what do you want me to do once I arrive as a Yakanan king?" Braum asked.
Troy, the one-eyed strategist was the one who answered.
"We want you to gain the trust of the King and the crown princess. Afterward, we want you to investigate the exact HOW and WHEN they're going to plan the assassination. We believe that they're going to do it in the middle of the city parade where the king and royalties will descend into the streets and greet the citizens...but the security will be quite tight so we don't know how they're going to do it"
"Parade..." Braum remembered that the Yakanan royal family similarly died in a city parade as well. Braum did not have any feelings for the royal family but he did remember his step-father who died to protect them.
"Security is irrelevant if they're planning something big. I think if the Prince wants to control the population after their deaths...he would want to make it look like an accident or something so big that they would rule it off as a tragedy" Grant analyzed.
"Yeah that's the gist of it...we just want you to investigate from the inside. We'll also do our own investigation on the side" Toziro added.
Kelvin was deep in thoughts as the meeting was going on. After a while, he voiced out his opinion.
"Is it really necessary to reveal Yakana to the world just to stop this assassination? Isn't there a better plan?"
Braum was the one who replied.
"Perhaps...but that's not the point. It's not always about having a better plan. Under my rule, Yakana will be revealed to the world sooner or later anyway. We want to make the lives of people in the continent as prosperous as Yakana as well. Estalia will be the first country we'll establish a relationship with but it won't be the last. Let us create a better future together" Braum stood up and did a Yakanan salute with his right hand on his heart.
Toziro did the same thing as Braum and stood up as well.
"Well said, boy. We'll see if you are a worthy king for us to follow" He smiled as he said that.
The next day at noon, Neversummer's port.
The citizens of Neversummer were living their daily lives. The port was full of trading ships coming from other regions and even other kingdoms delivering goods. Some fishing boats can be seen capturing seafood for people's consumption. The beaches were relatively empty as it was still winter and no one wanted to swim in the cold water. But off towards the distant ocean, there was a mystery brewing and people were starting to take notice.
"Hey! What are those things!?" A citizen said while pointing at the ocean.
"Those looks like....ships! Giant ships....with no sails! Oh, my goddess Regalia are those the demons!?" Another citizen spoke.
The fleet of those mysterious giant ships with no sails to propel it forward consisted of five ships. They were moving to Neversummer at an extremely fast speed. In the city port, the Estalian naval force also took notice of the arrival of those mysterious ships.
"Ca-captain! What should we do!?" an Estalian navy spoke in fear.
"Ready the fleet! Arm the cannons! Get to work, soldiers!" The captain ordered.
The Estalian naval forces who were protecting the city from invasions moved into the sea. Their battleships were lining up in a single row while aiming their cannons in the direction of the mysterious giant ships. Their own battleships were like ants if you compare it to the size of the gigantic mysterious ships.
"On my mark!" The captain raised his sword, ready to command his fleet to fire.
Suddenly, the navy saw that there was something that started to fly from the enemy battleships.
"Is that..." A navy muttered.
"Giants! Those are giants!" Another navy screamed.
What they saw were giant humanoid metallic beasts, around five of them, who were flying near the city of Neversummer. The citizens who saw this sights were in awe. They had never seen something like this, not even in the legends.
"It's the gods! The gods have arrived! Bow down!" A citizen spoke in the port. He bowed down deeply on the floor. Some citizens also followed suit.
The five giants then went into a halt in the middle of the air above the Neversummer port and pulled out a circular metallic ball. The five balls together started to display an image which reads, in Estalian:
"WE ARE THE PEOPLE OF THE ETERNAL KINGDOM OF YAKANA. WE COME IN PEACE. PLEASE TAKE US TO YOUR LEADER"
That day will be remembered throughout history as not only the most important day of the entire world but possibly the turning point of humanity and other races in the continent. Historians will be obsessed by the entire logistics of the operation and parents will tell their children bedtime stories about the entire story. Yakanan nationalists will also deem this day to be controversial as it went entirely against their beliefs and tradition. It's the day Yakana revealed itself to the world.
