the red lady walked over to the statue in the neglected garden. The statue had moss over some of her hair. the red lady,  ruby, noticed that cracks were forming all around the statue. She started to run over, just as she did when a woman fell over as the stone disappeared from her skin There lay a silver-haired woman with a hole in her chest crouching on the flowers placed all around. Unaware of the two in the room, a small girl with blood-red hair and hazel eyes sits patiently watching as this unfolds in the shadows. 

As the lady woke up she sees a familiar face “Ruby?” she said rubbing her eyes ruby looked up at her love across the guest room lucy lay sleeping in “ Lu my dear” ruby whispered, “your back, you’re alive.” Lucy grew evermore confused and asked “back? Alive? Whatever do you mean?” as she reached up to scratch her head she noticed that the hair on her left side was gone. There was some hair but it was super short. She began to panic more and in the calmest, she could manage tone she asked” Ru love, what happened “ as she said this, she could feel the intense emotion showing though she hoped it was fear and not anger she almost knew that it was in fact anger by the tone of her voice. Ruby responded with her usual calming attitude and said “ my dear it has been no more than 5 years since you were turned to stone. No less than an hour ago did you return to me-Us .” Lucy knew that she was the only one who knew she was back but was trying to make it seem like it. ruby continued “ the reason that your hair is short on the … left?... The side is because moss had taken away 3/4ths of it, so I took the rest off by shaving it. You had said you wanted your hair half-shaved anyway but I had accidentally shaved too close so it ended up being like that.” Now Lucy, feeling tired and confused, decided to get out of bed and outside. As she stood up however she immediately fell to her knees feeling as though she was about to pass out that second, ruby rushed over and picked her up, and sat her on the bed, both of the girls looked and noticed that Lucy's gem, the one that powered her magic was gone. They both had an immediate and worrying reaction because she was much weaker than she typically is, meaning she had to pace herself to make sure she didn’t pass out. as she slowly got up ruby followed as she started her walk outside to the market down the way.

At the market, she saw a sale for clothes and light magic stuff. She immediately went to the area where the deal was taking place. She got a couple of sets of clothes she put on a comfy yet stylish two-piece crop top and skirt, she got new boots and a cloak, and some light magic jewelry.

As she walked back with all that and some more she knew what she needed to do. She walked to ruby and stated, “ruby my love, I am going to find my oracle gem and earn my staff and live a happy life with you.”. Ruby had just finished the dishes when she had gotten back and now staring at her love she responded “ you are crazy… going on your own let me get ready.”

As the lovers were getting ready to leave Lucy was fretting over what had happened to her over the last 4 years of her life because it was forgotten all because of her father and his actions; he was now gone but it still made her upset that her life was all messed up. Ruby was fretting over her lover's now damaged physical state and how without her gem she was a human with magic now that is worrisome because Lucy still wanted to act like she was before but until she gets her treasure back she is not. On the road, Lucy realized real quickly that she is very much not above help or more importantly that she does need it. Just walking to the garden was a struggle. She needed to get more rest before shekels over in exhaustion but as soon as she got there she could feel the energy that she needed flow back into her so now she had that much power to work with but not the amount she needs for the move call home she knows she tried but she now walking and moving. Ruby now worried chimes in saying” dear maybe we go around and search for areas that the gem was at for a week or more.” Lucy knew she was trying to cheer her up and it was working. Lucy ran up to Ruby and exclaimed” of course why not we are going to locate my gem so let's go and find it.”

Ruby now realized what Lucy meant when she said “I am going to find my oracle gem ” Ruby now wanted to help but she had a bit of a problem because she said this “ nobody knows that you are back so” she walked over to Lucy when saying this and flipped Lucy's hood up over her head “we need you to stay and hide here until I can find your gem” Lucy stared upset but yet moved by the word her lover had said but before she could finish the comment she was about to tell a child was noticed the child was staring, so was Lucy and Ruby. They sat there for 5 minutes. Then the child turned to run and Lucy grabbed her before she got away even though there was a skirmish. As the child sat in the house staring at the adults all Lucy was curious about was the fact that the child was in her garden because it was on her property so was the house. All ruby wanted to do was scold the minor child for being there. Lucy walked over and knelt to be at eye level with the child as she started questioning.” What's your name?” asked Lucy the child answered, “my name is scarlet rell I am sorry about trespassing on your property miss…” Lucy wanted to ask more questions but needed to answer this first so she said:” my name is Lucy that lady in red over there is my wife Ruby” scarlet finished her answer “I am sorry to miss Ruby, I am sorry to miss Lucy” Lucy could see the regret on scarlet and ruby’s face so she went and said “so scarlet you know what, you help us and then well you would have zero debt to us so might as well adopt you.” both scarlet and Ruby were speechless for very different reasons. Ruby was silent because she wasn’t talked about adoption and scarlet was quiet because she just got a good life in store for this girl with red hair and brown eyes. As Lucy was being dragged out of the room by scarlet as the house staff went in and started to clean up the child Ruby stared right into Lucy's eyes she just seemed upset not angry, more confused than anything as she asked “ why didn’t you tell me you wanted to adopt her? I am ok with it, you could have just asked though.”

As everyone was getting ready to leave for the journey they knew that they would be gone for a bit all Lucy could think about was how she would be in the all-new territory because she was missing her gem as she was about to start work on cooking dinner for all three of them she heard a scarlet yell” don’t touch that” Lucy sighed as though it had been 30 minutes with her inside she was being a troublesome child, but she knew that when she had let her stay before they left. As Lucy walked out of her study she found scarlet yelling at a maid for touching she guessed the doll so she simply got to scarlets level and asked'' why are you screaming at Sarah she was going to clean up your little doll that she is holding” the little girl just sat there staring at Lucy then she answered “that doll is marina she was made by a friend that is no longer with me.” Lucy asked “ can Sarah clean up Marina so she doesn't get torn or ripped or even moldy?” as she said that scarlet’s demeanor changed entirely when Lucy had finished talking scarlet turned to the maid and said “ be gentle to her please “ and Sarah picked up the doll and ran off to the cleaning room. Scarlet then looked over at ruby who almost the entire time just sat and watched this happen. Lucy grabbed Ruby and walked to the kitchen as she started cooking, she reiterated some information” Ru love you know that I have always wanted children and when I saw how she kept on apologizing it made me believe that either she is from a bad home or she grew up on the streets so … I thought why not kill two birds with one stone and adopt the little girl and … tonight with that little doll well she is staying with us at the end of discussion.`` Later on, at the dinner table scarlet, still curious, decided that asking would be the best course of action. So she did “miss Lucy how did you and miss Ruby meet?” Both of the adults were startled by the question from Scarlet but Ruby started to answer.

“ We met at a party and when I say party I mean a ball and by that I mean a banquet for the high and mighty” ruby gushed “ since I am the dragon princess there was no doubt about being invited me going, on the other hand, was unlikely do to the fact that I had just hit the age of that I could attend of my own free will. I went and I saw her an--” Lucy interrupted and said,” you came over to me Ru I believe it was midnight and I was sleeping on the couch when you sat on me!” “Lu, I am trying not to look like a fool in front of the scarlet,” Ruby pleaded, “ but fine yes I sat on Lu at midnight I wanted to just sit out of the dancing because they were serving more food afterward the whole reason I was there was because of the sweets.” “ ya keep telling me that you were a 14-year-old and so was I “ lucy snarked” anyway I just was tired and the couch was soft so I went to nap and after 15 minutes she sat on me she was as surprised as I was so I refrained from yelling at her and we left to the garden--” “you and who else?” asked scarlet

“Who else? The familiar golden hawk that has been following me- where is he!?!! Where is Oswald??!!” screamed Lucy as soon as she noticed that her little companion was gone. Ruby now tried to continue the conversation rolling but after Lucy calmed down Ruby now continued the story” as I followed her out to the garden she had sent her hawk and it pecked me for a while Lucy had gotten lost in the garden maze and had called her hawk to her and I memorized the way to her and back so I walked her out “ “ and we danced for hours after” lucy seemed to remiss this fact Lucy was jostled awake by head maid Sarah, the same Sarah who cleaned little scarlet’s doll. when she had awoken Lucy she seemed a bit distressed so Lucy asked “why are you waking me up” she looked at the clock then continued “ 3 a.m?”

Sarah answered,”  madam scarlet her doll had a note in it and the reason I know was I was fixing the stitching in the back of it when the note fell out care to look at it before madam scarlet.” Lucy now puzzled answered with a yes and the note said as follows “ my dear scarlet rell even though you have potential your magic is too dangerous I know you might never find this so whoever is reading this come to these coordinates and find the scarlet gem” the coordinates that were placed was the old cult house in town so she walked to the area she had told ruby about this so she could come and get her if something bad happened so as she walked in she saw a red jewel in the wall she calls out for anyone in the area when nobody answers she went and collected the jewel and started the journey back to the property but the door was locked and she heard a voice say “put her magic back.” Lucy simply responded, “I am giving this magic to a small girl named Scarlet rell and then I am going to train her to use it.” the voice said in a different voice “ treat her well please” after the voice's words the door opened up and Lucy ran home tired and hungry. As Lucy got home the sun was rising and the manor was getting busy with the morning ruby making coffee and Sarah making breakfast. There were some different things that morning. The bathroom had a small child in there Lucy could hear that and well Lucy was awake and dressed at sunrise. Ruby walked over to Lucy, smiled, and said “good morning darling it is toast with bacon and unborn bird baby.” As Lucy tried not to laugh at her wife’s odd way of saying eggs she just said” it is eggs you weirdo, now is it sunny, runny, or scrambled eggs?” Sarah chimed in saying “ popped yolk miss” Lucy now giggled and corrected “omelet you mean?” Sarah replied with a yes. “Ok omelet and bacon with burnt buttered bread” Lucy recalled. scarlet who was at the bottom of the stairs for a bit and said “ say it right you weirdos”.As scarlet sat down Sarah was serving breakfast Lucy grabbed the small velvet pouch and said “after breakfast, we are going to do something ok and I have some clothes for you to wear for our journey so it will be good for you to try them out.” as she handed the pouch to Sarah she whispered to Sarah and said,” drop this in scarlet cape she will grab it and it will disappear I know it.”  After breakfast, Scarlet ran upstairs and put on her clothes as Lucy walked past she saw her grab the crystal and it disappeared into her hand. when scarlet got downstairs she didn’t ask about the gem disappearing instead she asked'' what are we doing outside anyway “ Lucy replied “magic practice of course my dear” 

Outside Lucy was teaching scarlet how to use her blood magic scarlet seemed like she was a really good use of said magic Lucy was asked after they were done why weren't they on the road Lucy replied” ruby is nearly done packing for the trip so I had to stall for an hour” just as she had said that Ruby walked out of the house with a small bag with infinite possibilities

As the three girls walked they grew ever more tired so when the sun was setting they knew that they were going to need a wagon or some other way of transportation across the area as they went to stop at an inn Ruby asked “ is there a wagon of some sort that can carry us across we will give it back when we are done.” the innkeeper sighed and said “across the street in the pub there is a guy who is selling wagons so in the morning you can go and talk to him” ruby went to the room they were staying in and asked lucy” Lu, hun there is a guy across the street in the pub who is selling wagons wanna go now or in the morning ?” Lucy replied “you stay here I will secure a deal with the guy” and Lucy left for the wagon-selling guy when she entered the pub she almost immediately saw an old man with a slightly skinnier exterior so as she walked over to him he looked up from his drink and said” are you looking for a wagon” Lucy shook her head yes the man continued “ have a seat “ lucy stole a chair from another table and sat facing the guy he said,” I have been looking for just the right person to give my wagon too free of charge.” Lucy mentioned'' Well I am looking for a wagon to travel all over looking for … something I lost.” the man beckoned standing up “come with me” as Lucy followed this man to the back of the drinking place she saw an amazing wagon it was big enough to carry 6 people plus all their luggage so as she was about to ask the man how much for said wagon she turned and he disappeared with a note on the ground saying “you may have the wagon “In the morning they were packing up the wagon and now they were starting their journey to locate Lucy’s gem
