Chapter 1 - The beginnings of a Hero

Chapter 1 - The beginnings of a Hero

I wasn’t that special of a person. I was pretty normal all things considered. I was more of an introvert and tended to prefer staying indoors.

The Internet and games were my safe haven. As a kid my family were at best neglectful. I had food and a roof over my head, even a computer but there was no love given.

I didn’t turn into some annoying bratty, attention seeking teen. My childhood was probably the reason I preferred being alone in real life.

I felt more comfortable and just… right to be on my own.

I immersed myself in games, anime and movies. I loved them dearly and spent countless hours watching or playing them.

One Piece, Naruto, and Dragon ball Z practically raised me. The MCU came around and I fell in love with that. I even went into comics, Spider-Man was easily my favourite super hero.

Growing up surrounded by all this superhero crap filled me with a sense of good. I always wanted to do good. To be a hero. But with my weak body and practical aversion to the outside world, I found it hard to do so.

I did freelance work in order to earn money. A lot of different stuff. I lived in a small apartment. I had space for a kitchen, bed, my desk, pc and both of my monitors so the space was fine for me.

I enjoyed my life.

That was why the end of my life was so jarring. It was why I hadn’t expected death to come anytime soon.

I knew death was inevitable and I didn’t stress over it at all because of that but staring down the grill of a massive semi truck was definitely frightening.

I had shut my eyes and simply let death take me. Only I did not fall into her loving embrace.

I awoke with a sudden feeling of panic. I was sat up in the bed I was laid in, panting heavily. My blood was rushing, my heart pounding. I felt like I had just ran a marathon.

The most confusing part was definitely the room I was in. This wasn’t my bedroom. My pc and desk were gone, the bed was completely different. The door and window had switched places.

I went to get up but immediately collapsed backwards as pain assaulted my head. I groaned as a headache pounded against my skull. I grew dizzy and groaned in pain.

Soon the pain faded leaving something in its wake. Memories. Foreign memories.

Memories of a life that I didn’t live in this world. I say this world because this isn’t my version of Earth at all.

I had moved to this apartment in New York to start again. I was a British student who had dropped out of all education when he turned 18.

His parents had died young and he didn’t want to live in Britain anymore so his very rich aunt and uncle sent him off to New York and agreed to pay for his rent and bills for 5 years so he could get his feet under him.

His Aunt and Uncle had practically raised him as their own child.

We shared the same name as well. Mark Hammond. He looked exactly like me. For all intents and purposes he was me.

I let out a sigh as I rubbed my forehead. I had died or maybe not died. I found myself in another world as myself with an aunt and uncle I had never had before, in a city I had never even been to.

My other self had already been in New York for about 1 month. He had already gotten a job. Just some work at a Starbucks shop.

He only worked part time so I was off today. I reached over for my phone and suddenly a memory surfaced in my brain that shocked me to my core.

I pulled my phone over and quickly went online and onto YouTube. I found the clip and stared in horror.

The clip was of a disheveled looking man. He had black hair, a black beard and was wearing expensive clothes. He was sat down in front of a podium giving a speech to a bunch of reporters.

He spoke the fated words “I am Iron Man.” Robert Downey Jr said or I guess Tony Stark said. I was in the MCU version of Earth.

“Fucking fantastic” I said to myself with a sigh. I remembered when this happened from my old self’s memories. I had watched this very moment on the news.

I rubbed my forehead with a sigh as I looked down at my lap “what the fuck is this shit?” I grumbled to myself.

Also the tear was wrong. It was 2025 not 2010 or 2008 like it should be.

I suddenly heard a swoosh sound and felt something light drop on the bed in front of where I sat.

I raised an eyebrow as I stared at the sealed letter sat in my bed. It said Mark on it.

I shrugged and grabbed it before opening it. I took out a piece of paper and unfolded it to read the letter.

The letter said:

Dear Mark Hammond.

My name is Kami. Who or what I am doesn’t matter. All that matters is you have the knowledge that I’m capable of pulling you into a fictional world. This isn’t the normal MCU, you will soon figure that out. I have pulled stuff from comics and other marvel media and shoved it into this world.

You may do as you wish. I have prepared a gift for you to help you along. It’s somewhere in your apartment, eventually it will come to you ;).

I have not brought you here for any grand purpose or anything like that. I simply wish to see what happens. You may do whatever you like, be a villain or a hero I don’t care.

Have fun.

Kami.

I stared at the letter for a while. I wanted to believe this was just a dream or something but no matter what I thought I knew it wasn’t. Likely Kami had done something to me.

I put the letter down in my lap as I let out a sigh. Also the message about something being in my apartment was ominous.

I wasn’t massively familiar with marvel comics so there may be some bad shit from there he could’ve put in my apartment but I wasn’t sure.

“Fuck it” I said as I got up out of bed. I was dressed in my sleepwear which was some boxers and some pyjama shorts. I didn’t wear a top usually.

I wasn’t particular fit. I was healthy but I wasn’t fit. I had almost no muscle definition.

I walked out of my room and to the kitchen. I began making some toast and a coffee. I soon found myself sat on the sofa as I put on the news and began drinking my coffee.

I didn’t enjoy the news. Never have but I figured it’d be good to watch in this world.

As I ate my toast I browsed through Reddit. It had some good info. Loads of people were coming up with all sorts of crazy theories about Tony. Some said he was a champion of aliens or some shit.

It was the typical bullshit.

I finished eating my toast as I put the small plate down on the coffee table and picked up my coffee.

I took a sip and let out a sigh of relief at the taste.

I was holding my coffee cup with my left hand. I lowered it from my mouth and rested my arm on the arm of the sofa as I looked at my phone.

I felt an itch so I looked down at the back of my left hand. Usually I’d scratch it immediately but something stopped me this time. A truly baffling sight.

I saw a small spider. It was around the size of a golf ball, a bit smaller. Usually I’d smack the shit out of a spider immediately.

This one however was bright neon pink and was currently in the motion of waving at me. I would swear on my life for the continuous future that the little fucker somehow smirked at me before it sunk its fangs into the back of my hand and probably injected venom into me.

I dropped my phone and proceeded to slap my right hand down on the back of my left faster than I had ever done before.

The thing died in one hit and I promptly chucked it to the floor. I stared at the dead, squished spider in shock.

It didn’t take long for the effect of the venom to come into play. I remembered the line clearly now. Kami had left a “gift” for me.

I looked at the back of my hand to see where the spider had bitten start to turn red. I saw the veins on the back of my hand slowly turn pink as pain suddenly racked my body.

I had always thought my pain tolerance was quite high. I was a stupid kid and had broken many bones.

This was unlike anything I had ever felt. My body burned like I was being dipped in lava.

I tried to scream but nothing came out. My coffee cup dropped to the floor and spilt everywhere as I collapsed to the floor on my hands knees as I curled up gritting my teeth in pain.

It didn’t take long before I passed out from the pain, my last thought was ‘I’ve got fucking work tomorrow as well’ then darkness took me.

——-

My eyes snapped open and i immediately noticed the fact it was pitch black outside and inside. The light was from the tv that still played the news.

I sighed and let out a groan at the ache my body was currently experiencing “fucking spiders” I said. My throat was parched and my stomach empty.

I looked around and saw my phone. I had kept hold of it until I had collapsed to the floor. I reached over, groaning at the ache intensifying as I moved my arm.

I tapped the screen and the phone came on. It was 10pm.

I sighed deeply as I slowly pushed myself to a sitting position. I looked down and saw the most obvious change the spider had brought on.

My body was fucking fit as fuck. I didn’t look like a model or pro athlete. I looked like a Greek God or a fucking Shonen anime character. I was built like someone would fantasies about looking.

I had an eight pack and incredibly defined muscles. I imagined I also had super strength and all the other shit that came with a spider bite in marvel.

I raised my hands and saw something else. A hole in my wrists likely Tony Maguire’s Spider-Man’s organic webs. They did not look like those scars or whatever they were in the movie. They were literal holes, I don’t even dare touch the openings.

I also didn’t even bother attempting the hand position as much as I wanted. I was pretty sure Toby’s webs dissolved after a while but I didn’t really want to try it in my home.

I pushed myself to my feet hating every second as I got to my feet. I saw the dead spider and glared at the prick.

I imagined doing this was a stupid idea, especially if someone found it but I put it in the bin.

Then I moved to the kitchen, washed my sweaty hands and put some food in the oven. I then went and had a quick shower.

I had work at 8am but I lived quite a ways away from where I worked so I’d have to set off at 7am.

I was exceptionally careful with everything I touched. I never closed any doors. I very slowly and carefully turned things or pressed things.

I had to test my strength and learn to control it fast. Spider sense hadn’t reared its head yet.

I felt a sudden tingle as my eyes snapped up to the roof of the bathroom where a spider was stuck to the ceiling.

I pointed my finger at the thing as I glared at it “I’ve got a problem with you assholes now” I said before I turned and got into the shower. I had already turned it on. I was careful with the amount of strength I put into everything I did.

I shut the shower screen and began washing my hair. I got distracted as I picked up the shampoo bottle and proceeded to squeeze hard enough to empty a good portion of the bottle into my hand.

I sighed as I turned my hand to the side and most of it slipped off and dropped to the floor of the shower. I put the bottle down and began washing my hair since my left hand was covered in shampoo.

I soon got out of the shower as I began to dry myself. I dried all of my body still marvelling at the way I looked.

I was glad I wasn’t gay cause I may have just fallen in love with myself.

I chuckled at the thought as I dried my body off and then went to my room and dried my hair off with a hair dryer.

I then got dressed in some boxers, baggy joggers and a baggy white shirt. Why did I wear baggy clothes because my nicer clothes didn’t fit anymore.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

I had seemed to have groan a bit in height as well. I was 5ft 6 before but now I was around 5ft 8.

The aching has settled down a bit now. It was more a dull ache in the background than the prominent annoyance it was before.

I rubbed the back of my head as I moved back to the kitchen. Soon my food was done and I ate a good meal.

I had been careful not to shoot any webs or break anything. I hadn’t dared to touch my phone. It was still on the floor next to the sofa.

I moved over and picked up said phone gently as I put it in my pocket. I then grabbed my wallet and keys and left my apartment. I locked the door behind me and headed out of my apartment building.

I soon found myself in a quiet alley. I found a dumpster and grabbed hold of one of the handles on it. I then began to squeeze with all the strength I had.

The metal crumpled under the strength my grip exerted. I smirked as I quickly checked to see if anyone was around before I raised my arm and pressed my middle and ring fingers to my palm as I bent my wrist backwards.

A line of webbing shot out of the hole on my wrist and slammed into the wall. I moved my middle and ring finger off my palm and the webbing stopped. I held onto the line of web finding I could easily let go of it if I chose even with how sticky it was.

I dropped the web and let it stay on the ground as I watched it. It started to dissolve after about 30 minutes. 15 minutes later and there wasn’t any trace of it. I played on my phone as I waited.

I hummed at that as I crossed my arms. I tested my strength a bit more before heading home. I felt like I had a bit better control.

I headed home and flopped down onto to the sofa as a big grin spread across my face. This was insane. I wasn’t that sad about dying or leaving Earth. I would much rather be here with Spider-Man’s powers than there.

“What should I do” I wondered aloud.

I was obviously going to try being Spider-Man. I wasn’t some wiz with expert stitching skills so making a normal suit was out of the question.

I rubbed my head. First though I had to get through a day of work. It was Monday tomorrow and I’d be working until Friday.

I relaxed for a while until morning came then I got changed into my uniform and left my apartment. I got the subway and then headed to my workplace. I was still being careful. It would likely be like this for a while.

My Spider Sense (which was a wild thing to say) was acting up a lot. It was jarring. I imagined Kami made that Spider so he likely made this process easier since I didn’t seem to be nowhere near as bad as some of the other spider men.

Whenever someone looked at me or was about to bump shoulders with me I felt a tingle and my body reacted immediately and I shift positions to dodge them or I looked straight at them.

Work was alright. I was a lot slower since I had to be very careful not to break anything. Time flew.

A week passed by and I found myself relaxing on the sofa in my apartment. I had been getting used to my strength and surprisingly I had pretty much got used to it by now.

I could also control my stickiness easily as well. No one had commented on the holes in my wrists because if I relaxed enough the holes would close.

I also had given up resisting and touched them. The skin around the entrance to the hole was quite squishy and also lubricated by some liquid.

I imagined it was so webbing could come out easily. It was very fucking weird to have wet holes in my wrists but I could shoot organic webbing like Spider-Man so I couldn’t care less.

I had been putting it off for so long but I finally decided to do it. I headed a bit deeper into the city and soon found myself in an alley between two six story buildings.

I walked up to the wall and pressed my hands to it as I pulled myself up. I stuck to the brick easily and began to slowly crawl up the building. I did it right next to a fire escape so if my spider sense went off I could quickly get on the fire escape.

I crawled up to the roof and soon found myself atop it. I moved over to the side of the roof and stood on the ledge as I looked over the edge of it.

I saw people walking around. I put my hood up and pulled up a balaclava I had on to hide my face. I shot a web to the edge of the building across from the one I was on.

I smiled. I was terrified, I really was. I wasn’t that high up. I held onto the web tightly and then dropped off the edge. My body tensed as I swung down. My muscles strained as I flew through the air. My web grew taught and I swung down the street.

People stared at me but I didn’t care. I was getting awfully close to the wall of the building my web was stuck to.

The tingle I usually felt didn’t come. Instead a loud ringing noise sounded in my mind and my body suddenly reacted. I tugged on the web line and flipped around as I landed against the wall in a crouch.

I was about two stories up and everyone was staring. I smirked as I let go of the web line I had been holding and then shot another as I swung down to the ground.

I landed softly and began walking, ignoring the stares. Some people had been recording the spectacle. I figured I should probably get out of here so I broke into a sprint using my enhanced body to escape the scene quickly and easily.

Some people tried to chase after me but I lost them easily.

I quickly rushed home. I was panting as I entered my home and leaned against the closed door. I smirked to myself.

This was going to be fun.

That night I found myself deep in Manhattan. Skyscrapers were all around and I was dressed like a typical thug. I had on a black balaclava and wore dark clothing, all baggy so it would be hard to tell my body shape.

I pressed my hands against the side of a building. I didn’t care who saw me as I got a running start and proceeded to run up the side of the wall. I had found that my sense of balance was almost perfect.

I didn’t get any vertigo or any feeling like I was the wrong way around. So I ran up the side of the building. It was around 12 stories high.

I got to the top and then stood on the edge as I hyped myself up. I was finally going to try swinging. I had grown to trust my Spider Sense.

I knew where to fire my webs and I found I had almost perfect accuracy with them.

People were staring up at me at this point. Some had phones out and were recording whilst others were on the phone, likely talking to the police. They most likely thought I was suicidal or something. I heard sirens in the distance.

I ignored it all as I focused on myself. I narrowed my eyes and then fell forward. I flipped around in the air as I fell, I righted my posture.

People screamed and then my arm shot out and a web flew and stuck to a building. As I got about a few metres from the ground it grew taught and I swung through the air.

I swung to the top of my arc and then pulled on it as i launched myself further into the air using the web as a slingshot. As I flipped around and began diving back to the ground, I saw people watching in awe.

As I neared the ground again I shot another web and instead of swinging to the top of my arc again. I let go early and was propelled forward fast as a result.

I shot another web and swung with that one for a few seconds before having to fire another. It was bound to happen at some point but the tall building ran out and I missed a web shot and plummeted to the ground.

I was about 15 meters off the ground but my Spidey sense activated again and I landed in a picture perfect spider man crouch.

I found the drop was nothing. It didn’t hurt even a little bit. I hummed at that and decided to try something else now. I had started on top of a building so this time I ran forward and hopped up to the top of a bus that was nearby and leaped into the air as I shot a web and pulled on it to get some momentum before I shot out another and used that to begin swinging again.

It was incredibly freeing to swing through the air. My body felt light. The strength I had been holding back so much for the last week was allowed to fully shine and it felt amazing to let loose.

I shot a web on the corner of a building as I swung round the corner, I realised I wouldn’t make it so I shot a web onto the wall of the building and pulled, performing a hairpin turn mid air as I shot down the street.

I let go and flipped around as I shot a web from each of my hands and then grabbed both and pulled on both as I used them to slingshot myself forward a bit.

It didn’t give much speed but it definitely helped me stay airborne. I swung up above the edge of a building and flipped around in the air as I landed in a perfect crouch on the corner of the building.

My balaclava had gotten a bit messed up so I quickly fixed it as well as the rest of my clothes.

I had worn quite a few layers since I had expected to be quite cold but I didn’t really feel cold at all. I felt fine.

It wasn’t too hot or too cold as far as I could tell.

I rubbed my face slightly as I let out a breath. “I guess it may be time to do some heroing” I mumbled to myself as I glanced around.

I fully expected to hear a scream or something happen but nothing appeared. I shrugged as I hopped off the building and began swinging.

I kept my ears peeled for any sirens or anything of the sort.

As I looked around I realised my vision was even better than I thought it was. I could clearly see what was happening on the ground even from all the way up here.

I pulled my phone from my zipped up trouser pocket and then went on Google maps.

I figured heading further into town would be better for me so I figured out what direction Manhattan was in.

I put my phone back in my pocket and then took off. I swung through the air towards Manhattan, hoping there would be more action there.

I was thinking about how I would take down a criminal, a normal human anyway. I didn’t have enough confidence in my ability to handle my strength to go punching normal people.

I had a good feeling I’d punch their heads off their bodies.

I was starting to get really bored before I suddenly heard a siren. I grinned behind my balaclava as I took off, swinging in that direction.

I shot a web at the side of a skyscraper as I swung up and flipped around, catching myself by sticking to the side of the building.

I stopped because the sirens had started coming towards me.

Suddenly a car swerved around a corner and barreling down the relatively quiet street. Three police cars were in pursuit of it.

I sighed. I wasn’t sure how I’d be able to help here. I didn’t want to accidentally cause a bad crash.

I shuck my head and jumped off as I swung in the direction the car was heading. I had already sped past where I was stuck to a wall.

I needed to use my webs that much was obvious. I swung down and accelerated my speed.

I was above the speeding car now. I stuck a web to the roof of the car and pulled myself towards it.

I landed in a crouch on the roof. I got a better look into the car now. The driver seemed intoxicated and there was only one person in the car.

I shrugged as I reached down and opened the passenger door before I dropped into the car and then shut the door.

“Ah! What the fuck!” The man driver the car said. I reached out and grabbed the steering wheel as I turned it myself to stop us from crashing.

“Relax dude. I’m just here to stop this car before you kill yourself or someone else” I said as I looked at the guy. He looked frightened and was nervously glancing at me as he tried to keep his eyes on the road.

“How the hell did you get in here!” The guy shouted at me.

“Oh? I have superpowers” I said with a nonchalant shrug. We were still on relatively quiet. The sirens gave the few cars on the road time to swerve out of the way so I decided to try and talk him down.

“What?!” He said incredulously before he laughed to himself a bit.

“Oh I see. I’m hallucinating” the guy chuckled to himself.

“I couldn’t care less of you think I’m real or not. Either way I need to stop this car pal” I said as I looked at the guy.

He could see my eyes and that I was white thanks to the around my eyes but that was all he could see. The rest of my body was covered with black clothing.

“Whatever ghost!” The guy said laughing drunkenly.

“Fuck this” I said as I reached behind me and reclined my seat down. I then stuck my hand to the ceiling of the car and pulled myself out of my seat and onto the back seat.

I then waited for us to be on a straight road before I reclined his seat slightly then grabbed his wrists and dragged him back and into the passenger seat.

I shoved him against the side of the vehicle and webbed his legs and arms to the walls before I quickly hopped into  the drivers seat and began to slowly bring the car to a stop.

As I parked up on the air of the rode I took the keys out and put them on the dashboard.

I then turned to the guy and pointed at him “now think about what you’ve done!” I said as I opened the driver seat door and got out.

“Put your hands up!” I heard a women shout. I turned to see a police women holding a gun up at me and her partner holding a taser.

I raised an eyebrow as I raised my hands in surrender “alright officers relax” I said calmly.

“Who the hell are you?” The women asked in obvious confusion. She had likely seen me swing from somewhere and land on the roof of the vehicle.

Two other cops were on the other side of the criminals car to me checking on said criminal.

“I’m just guy trying to do some good” I said with a shrug.

“Stay there” the women said as she took a step towards me.

“No can do officer. If you need a name for me, call me Spider-Man” I said with a grin behind my balaclava.

“Don’t move or we will tase you!” Her partner said, holding his taser up at me.

The other two cops had circled around to my back after they had seen the guy was restrained by my webbing.

I still had my hands in the air in a surrender motion.

“Spider-Man?” One of the men behind me questioned.

“It’s my superhero name. Catchy isn’t it.” I said with a chuckle.

“Anyway I’d love to stay and chat but I got more potential people to save” I said as I bent my knees slightly.

“Your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man says goodbye” I said with a chuckle as I couched suddenly and faster than they could react shot uo into the air with a powerful jump easily reaching 10 meters into the air before I shot a web and pulled myself to the busking we were next to.

I ran along the side before shopping off as I reached the end. I shit a web up and swing around the edge of the building as I quickly vacated the area.

I swung off to find my next criminal to stop.

It surprisingly didn’t take long to find something.

Seemingly a robbery. Three men dressed in the typical thug clothing were surrounding a fourth man, seemingly shaking a the guy down.

I landed gently on a wall near them as I watched carefully. I wanted to make sure it actually was a mugging.

“You want to answer the question?” The main thug said as he put his hand on the fourth man’s shoulder. This was Thug 1.

Thug 2 and 3 were simply watching, smirks on their faces. Idiots weren’t wearing masks.

I took out my phone and recorded a video of the thugs as they forced the guy to give them his wallet and phone.

I turned the camera to myself as I gave it a thumbs up “Spider-Man to the rescue” I whispered to the camera before turning it ack tot the thugs and then stoped the recording.

I put my phone away and then dropped down. I landed with an audibly thud behind the Thug 2 and 3.

Thug 1 didn’t see me drop from the air so he smirked at me.

He threw the fourth guy to the ground as he raised his hand. I saw he had a knife now.

“Oh guys got a knife!” I said with an exaggerated voice as I the three thugs made their way toward me.

“You saw nothing right?” Thug 1 questioned me.

“Nah pretty sure I saw you robbing that guy” I said as I nodded and crossed my arms.

“And now we’re robbing you since you can’t keep your nose out of where it doesn’t belong” Thug 1 said as he grinned at me.

“Oh really?” I said as I raised my hand and shit a web at his knife, dragging it from his hand before throwing it behind me.

I hear the clank as it hit the ground far behind me “what are you robbing me with now?” I asked.

“What the-“ Thug 1 said in confusion as he took a step back.

I proceeded to raise my arms and shoot a web at their faces. I usually let it fly longer to create a web line but this time I cut off the web immediately and a small ball of web shot forward and slammed into the faces of each of the thugs with quite a bit of power.

They all stumbled back like they had been punched in the face. They tried to pull the web from their faces but just got their hands stuck instead.

I moved over quickly and threw Thug 1 to the ground as I webbed him to said ground, I did the same for the other 2.

I then grabbed the victims wallet and phone before moving over to said victim.

The guy looked meek and shy. He was sat on the floor where he had been thrown as he stared at me in fear.

“Relax dude. What’s your name?” I asked as I crouched down in front of him.

“J-Jared” he said with a stutter.

I handed him his phone and wallet and he hesitantly took them from my hands.

“Well Jared I have a video to send to you” I said as I smiled at him.

“These guys need to go to jail after all. My name is Spider-Man, call the police and tell them a masks vigilante with my name showed up and saved you then show them the video I’m about to send you.” I said.

I pulled out my phone and used Dropbox to send him the video.

I then waved bye to him and jumped into the air before swinging away. I didn’t leave though. I swung to the top of the building and perched on the edge.

Jared called the police and gave his report and the video. They seemed to already know I was about so I guess those other cops reported me to their dispatch or something.

I left after that, swinging through the night as I helped as many people as I could.

——————

I left out a groan as I got out of bed and stretchers out my sore muscles. Last night had been eventful. After saving Jared I headed out and saved 6 more people.

I heard into my kitchen in just some shorts as I preferred sleeping without a shirt on.

I quickly set the kettle to boil as I began making a coffee. I grabbed the tv remote and turned it on as I watched the morning news. I was off work today so we were good.

I took my coffee to the sofa as I plopped down and began drinking it.

“Ohhh breaking news” I said with a smirk as I watched the tv.

“Reports from a few individuals have told a story about a masked vigilante who calls himself Spider-Man. Last night he stopped multiple crimes. Victims say he has super human capabilities and can shoot an unknown sticky substance from his wrists. Police have not given a proper statement yet, however they have said they are on the lookout for this Spider-Man to stop him before he gets himself hurt” the female reported said.

I hummed in thought at that as I ignored the next story she talked about.

No super villains were showing up yet so I highly doubted I could get hurt. I surprisingly haven’t encountered a gun yet but I imagined my spider sense would help in that regard.

It did want me of every punch or knife stab thrown at me even if I could see it coming.

I finished my coffee and laid down. I figured I might as well go out in the day time since I had nothing else to do here.

If I wasn’t out I’d probably get bored and spend some money on something stupid. Mostly likely a game.

I quickly went about making some food before I got shoved my current Spidey outfit into my backpack. I wore normal clothes and took the subway to some random part of the city.

I hid in an alleyway as I got changed and then hid my bag and set off for the day on patrol.
