A person with a carriage then approached him and said “Are you ready to leave? Lord Berg Iver.” The owner of the body Batara was in is Lord Berg Iver, the head of a noble family in a small remote country . A group of commoners that were just eating with joy along Berg stood before him with a grim look on their face. A commoner said to Berg “We have confiscated all your magic scripts, books, materials and read all of them.” Berg coughed roughly and replied “Uhk… uhk, why did you do this?” the commoner replied “We need to learn combat magic to beat the nobles and we know that you are not allowed to teach us.” Berg replied in confusion “But why? Arent you living better since I taught you magic?” the commoner punched him and replied “A NOBLE LIKE YOU WOULD NEVER UNDERSTAND!” he continued “Our life may have improved but we are still trampled by the nobles like rats. We need to stand our ground and fight for our rights as equal human beings. That’s why we need power now more than ever since our standing has increased and more people started to support us commoners.” Berg replied “I understand your concern. But changes need time and process, you cannot force it to happen through violence!” The commoner got more furious and once again punched Berg while saying “WE HAVE WAITED LONG ENOUGH! Now either you teach us how to use combat magic or we will kill you and learn it anyway from your materials.” Berg didnt have any choice since he still wanted to return to his family, so he decided to teach them combat magic.

Several days have passed and unexpectedly the commoners are finally able to use combat magic. The commoners then went to overthrow the capital’s order and Berg was left behind locked in the basement. A commoner stayed behind to guard the house and provide Berg with basic meals so he didnt die. It might be the commoners’ way to repay Berg’s kindness. However, the meals they provided suppressed Berg’s mana making him powerless to break out on his own. So either he ate without being able to use magic or died of starvation. The commoners seemed to have planned this for a long time.

A month has passed and Berg was still locked in the basement until a ruckus was heard upstairs. Berg didnt know what happened but he hid himself under his bed as he knew there were several things that could result badly if he got caught by either commoners or nobles. A moment later the ruckus stopped and one of the people upstairs came down to the basement. Berg couldnt stop shaking, feeling scared. However, the other person immediately found Berg under the bed. Berg was startled and looked up slowly. Turned out, it was one of the guards that accompanied Berg from his country to the capital. The guard kneeled and said “Stay down there for a while and dont go back to the capital.” Berg just nodded and went back into hiding. The guard then shouted “All clear!” and returned with the other guards.

Berg sighed with relief at the fact that there was a person who was on his side. After things had settled down, Berg left the basement and headed back to his country. Berg anticipated it, but his worst fear has occurred that he was being accused of treason for teaching commoners to fight nobles. Thus, Berg planned to return and lay low. Several days have passed since Berg walked back to his country from the basement, and he finally arrived. The place that used to be lively was now looking like a ghost town. Berg looked around the place but there was no one, including his family. Suddenly, a group of people with horses approached him. One of the people shouted “THATS THE TRAITOR!”. Berg panicked and ran away as fast as he could. But the horses caught up to him and he got captured by the guards from the capital. Berg was then taken back to the capital.

Berg then got his blindfold taken off and hands untied as he realized he was in the middle of the Lord’s Court Hall. The Lord then said “Hereby, I declare Berg Iver is convicted for Treason against the capital and for that he will be executed as punishment.” Berg spoke back “But I did not engage in a treasonous act! I only taught commoners magic like you ordered me to!” The Lord replied “Then that made things clearer then, who else could’ve taught them how to fight even when I specifically told you not to?” Berg replied “But I was held hostage, what else can I do!?” The Lord replied with a cold blooded look “Then perhaps, you shouldve just given up your life for the greater good.” Berg’s gaze suddenly turned blank in disbelief. The Lord then said “Take him to the prison. We will have him executed tomorrow!” The guards took him from the chair and one of them was the guard that met him in the basement.

Berg then got thrown off into the prison. At nightfall, the guard from the basement came to Berg’s prison cell. The guard asked Berg “I’m sorry things turned out this way.” Berg was silent and didnt reply. The guard continued “I know you did nothing wrong, but everything was set in stone by the nobles I couldnt do anything. So at least, tell me your final request and I will do my best to fulfill it.” In desperation, Berg finally spoke “What happened to my country?” The guard looked down in guilt and replied “It got wiped out under the Lord’s command.” Berg replied “and my family?” The guard only shook his head in response. At that moment, Berg was at the peak of his desperation and stopped responding as his mind ceased to function. The guard then left him alone. Berg was far too deep in desperation that he couldnt even shed a tear for his family. But then, a dark spirit appeared in Berg’s cell and possessed him. Berg didnt even struggle as he already lost his mind. Thus, the dark spirit took its chance and managed to possess Berg completely, changing all his desperation into wrath.

When the morning came, Berg Iver was nowhere to be found in his cell. Overtaken by the dark spirit’s wrath, Berg planned his vengeance against both the nobles and commoners. Being possessed by the dark spirit, Berg gained a strong dark magic that made him able to shapeshift into any person he sees. With that specific skill, Berg was able to infiltrate the capital and made his way to the Lord’s chamber. He then proceeded to kill the Lord and turn himself to live as the Lord. As the new Lord, the first thing Berg did was put on the Lord’s crown, browse the royal clothing, and modify it to fit the dark spirit’s taste. Then he proceeded with his vengeance by killing the commoners he taught and executing the nobles that are involved in him being accused of treason through the Lord’s Court Hall. At the end of Berg’s vengeance, in the Lord’s Court Hall, Berg killed the guard that spared his life before taking his own life. The dark spirit then said in Batara’s head in anger “THAT FOOLISH HUMAN DARE TO REGAIN CONSCIOUSNESS JUST TO KILL HIMSELF AFTER EVERYTHING I’VE DONE FOR HIM! NOW I’M TRAPPED INSIDE THIS RUIN WITHOUT A PHYSICAL BODY!”
