The next month was torture, I would wake up with cold sweats, excruciating pain, delirious, hot flash’s, panic attacks, or a mixture of two of them or all of them, I think I woke up twice in the entire month where the only issue I had was my body cramping, and I was starving and dying of thirst. Everything else is just a painfilled delirious dream.
As I open my eyes, I see a flashing golden dot in the bottom left corner of my vision, my mind is still foggy but awake. I try to look at the golden dot but it just keeps moving with my vision, so I decide to look around me.
I'm lying in what looks to be an ancient medieval bed in a cabin in the woods, walls made of logs, the bed made of planks, as I begin to sit up I notice there's a chair in the corner with a woman who has the brightest blond hair I've ever seen almost silver, she’s reading a book and after she turns a page she moves her hair behind her ears and they come to a point about an inch above what a human normally has “Ok, I know I'm dreaming if I'm looking at an elf right now” is all I say just as a rush of memories hit me of what happened before I fell into a magically induced coma.
I plop my head back onto my pillow as I speak barely above a whisper “Holy shit it's not a dream!” as I look over at the elfin, I notice her thunderous expression and she looks like she’s about to chew me out, “Please” I interrupt her as I hold my hand up before she can go on a tirade that I assume would be worse than what the cleric gave me when I called her an elf before based on the girl's facial expression “I apologize, my mind is still foggy, I didn't mean to offend”
She harrumphs and lowers her book onto the nightstand in-between us, “Your awake, I need to go notify Grand Cleric Aashana immediately, but before I do let me check you to make sure nothing negative is lingering” she stood up and placed her palm on my forehead, and the only way I can describe the feeling is I felt a tingling warmth spread from her palm down to my toes that echoed back up to her hand, as the feeling came at a stop where she rested her hand against my forehead she straightened up and said
“ Grand Cleric Aashana will be in here shortly, do not move from your bed” I closed my eyes as I heard the half clap and thump of a book being forcibly closed as she exited through the only door to my room. Which did not have an actual door just a door frame.
A few minutes later I hear a light breathing coming from the doorway, I look up and Seargeant Daniels is leaning on the doorframe with an annoyed expression on his face and as we lock eyes he speaks up
“When I stated I’d rather not lose someone I can count on, I’d meant don’t do it man, I didn't want you bed ridden for almost two months, we will already level up twice as fast as the local’s so you leveling up twice as fast as us Isn't doing our group any favors in the short term, I’m the highest level we have so far and I’m a level ten, everyone else average at level eight.” He just shook his head as he sat down and continued
"it'll take you almost a month to get where the average is if you're not with me every day, and then we are going to go back to earth, not only that we've lost two people already."
I stare at Daniels dumbfounded for a second, “Did you say I’ve been bedridden for almost two months, the Cleric said at very most a month!” Sargeant Daniels just shakes his head, “According to the Grand Cleric there has not been many cases of even attempting to mesh all three systems together in Detaria, she’s only read about three that happened during the last time our world attempted integration over six thousand years ago, and none of them where successful, so you took longer than she expected"

I just shake my head finally noticing a pulsing in the bottom right of my vision, as I focus my mind on it my status screen opens up with a fancy bordered notification

I Just shook my head in disbelief about the title notification, it was a bit more personal than I thought they would be. I looked over at Daniels and simply stated “Looks like I’m level five, and was given a title –The Family’s Champion or Fool- for living through the combining of systems, and because I was the first of our group to get a title, I got enough exp to level up to five.
Daniels just shook his head, “that's at least a little positive and will save us a week or two, most ten year old children on this world are level five depending on how they are raised, everybody here was level five at the middle of the second week” he trailed off and looked behind him as a voice comes from inside the other room sounding annoyed “Ill finish his quick education sergeant, I believe you have somewhere you need to be” The Cleric Aashana says as she walks into the room
“I was hoping to get him to train with us Grand Cleric” Sargeant Daniels says as he stands at attention and dips his head as she walks past. She looks over at Daniels “Get out of this room now sergeant, I have to do a quick rundown on how the system works” and she looks over at me with the most scornful expression I've seen from a woman, and then I realize the very air is becoming heavier, it's getting harder to breath, and her hair is moving as if there's a light breeze in the room even though there is no wind “And to explain to Mr. Forrest the price that I have to pay for his decision for merging the systems”
