Synopsis
This is a fanfic of Marvel's Avengers, the game. Essentially, the Avengers fail to save Tony's newest project, a Terrigen-powered Helicarrier, and are labeled as a national liability as a result, as well as the Terrigen making superhumans freaking everywhere. I own nothing but my OCs.
Kali, a young woman granted power by the Terrigen, and then again by a failed attempt to "cure" her by AIM, attempts to get back what was lost to her.
Warning: I will be taking liberties with Asgard's Marvel lineage, because Marvel screwed it up first. Loki was actually Odin's brother, not Thor's. Fenris is a God-Devouring wolf actually capable of killing Odin and not just Hela's pet because that's how it was originally and I like it better that way. I am keeping Hela as Odin's daughter, because that's one thing I think that the MCU did that was cool.
Odin is a gigaprick and you cannot convince me otherwise. He's every bit as bad as Zeus, except worse, because he isn't looking to get his rocks off: Okay, he is, but he's very, very clever about it. He is totally different from Zeus in that he'll never be caught in the act, and everything he does is set up to maximize the chances of success. He's got Zeus's overweening pride, immense power, and none of the weaknesses of, you know, breeding anything that catches his fancy. Odin has none of that. He gets insulted just as easily, he scares even more easily, but unlike Zeus, he is not brash. He does not make his decision on the spur of the moment, his actions guided by pettiness, but with a cold calculus befitting a machine more that a man. Oh, he's still very, very spiteful, and capable of holding a grudge, but he's also not going to take Zeus's lackadaisical approach to divine punishment of "lighting bolt" and let Hades sort them out. No, he plans, he schemes the most sadistic possible way to punish whose who have angered him or threatened his rule. He had Loki tied up with the intestines of his favored sons and a snake dripping venom on his face, because that's the story we're going with. He escapes, because of course he does, he's Loki, but still. The cruelty remains.
