Chapter 3 Daren King

Chapter 3 Daren King

After breaking off ordinary school, a two-month holiday was issued for students to undergo their spiritual growth spurt. It was the period when all teenagers frequented the gyms and trained like they were on steroids. Tyler was no exception. During this time, a person's rank would undergo the fastest growth.

The rank this person had by the time they enrolled in the academy could tell how much talent that person possessed.

Although Tyler trained deligently both mentally and physically during these two months, his rank witnessed no increase in the slightest.

However, his other physical attributes had increased. His IQ had increased by 10 points, his flame dagger skill had reached its highest level and he gained a new skill - Flame thrower level 1. His darkness energy pool had also increased by 10.

[Rank: G-]

[Strength: F-]

[Agility: F]

[Enduarance: F]

[Defence: F-]

[Mentality: E]

[IQ: 160]

[Charm: F]

[Skill 1: Flame dagger level 5]

[Skill 2: Flame thrower level 1]

With such snobbish attributes, he was certain that he was going to become a victim of bullying in the academy. Looks like some things never change.

"Down, up. Left, right. Together, apart. Two tangible forces bring the balance. Only let us see and feel what we understand. The rest remains a mystery that mustn't be unearthed. They govern direction but are limited by direction in mortal eyes. They hold all things dear to earth and are everywhere the mortal may wander," Tyler recited the last concept to making his first invention in a lost stare into the air.

He had been reciting this particular phrase for over an hour and was starting to have a headache. Some of it made sense but then the very next statement would cast all that sense away sending him into a state of confusion over and over again.

It was the final and most difficult concept yet. The rest were a walk in the park since he already knew them- Newton's laws of motion, magnetic laws of repulsion and attraction. Calculation of forces using mass and acceleration, trajectory, Archimedes' principal, Law of floatation...The list went on and on. But when it came to the last concept, he was completely stuck!

"Down, up that's gravity. Left, right- is it pressure? No, it can't be. Together, apart- attraction, repulsion- definitely magnetism. Govern direction but limited by direction.......argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Tyler let out a frustrated groan closing the Liber Infernus angrily and placing his aching head on the table.

"Hey Ramiel, can you help me out here?" he pleaded while groaning.

Silence!

"Fine! I don't need your help anyway, I'll figure it out by myself!" Tyler gave up and placed the book in his packed suitcase.

Standing up, he stretched a little and yawned.

"It's time for the academy," he said in a low calm voice before closing his suitcase and leaving the house.

- I have approximately 6 months to grow stronger and stop Randolph from taking away this house and stop my parents' death.

A silent burning determination settled in his emerald green eyes as he bid his family farewell. They looked a little less stressed and had smiles for the first time now that they knew his spirit wasn't disabled anymore.

He walked in silence to the underground train station and boarded the Academy Express.

The train was bustling with activity as people were excited to start a new life in the academy. Some had already become friends with strangers. It was the perfect time to get acquainted with high-rankers. Some tried to strike up a conversation with Tyler but as soon as he told them that he was a G-ranker, they left without another word.

A short 15 minutes after*

Tyler couldn't help but marvel at the academy's infrastructure! The word Academy shouldn't have been used to describe the place because it looked like a freaking city. It was that big! - filled with skyscrapers. The Elite Academy had the most spectacular infrastructure in the country. In his previous life, in the future, he could only admire it from afar. Now that he was inside, it was truly impressive! To think that a city would be built to act as a school!

This just proved to show how powerful the League was to be able to build such a place in multiple countries.

"Well, it ought to be expected. Most teenagers in the country come to study here after ordinary school," Tyler sighed and let the matter of the academy's gargantuan nature pass.

However, the same couldn't be said for the others- they were all over the windows awe-struck by the scenery.

"Idiots!" Tyler couldn't help but scoff at their childish behavior.

"Freshers, You're stop is here! Please make your way to the receiving hall," the train attendant announced as the train came to a stop and the doors slid open.

Almost immediately, people started pouring out of the doors excitedly, some even got stuck. It was utterly embarrassing that they were acting this way!

"I can't believe that I am going to attend the same school with a bunch of lunatics," Tyler shook his head while staring at the blocked door.

A girl's beautiful laughter came from the side prompting Tyler to look.

He hoped no one else had heard his statement otherwise, a lot of trouble would be coming his way. Luckily, the reaction he got was a peal of laughter from a girl so he had to look.

An African-American girl in a pink crop top and brown teddy bear bag came into his view. She had flawless light brown skin even he admired, long curly brown hair, a beautiful smile that seemed to even make the world stop, light brown eyes that looked like they were illuminated by sunlight, cute moist pink lips, and an ethereal aura that could attract heaven's blessings. She was an ethereal beauty in Tyler's eyes!

"What's funny?" Tyler asked raising his brow, completely hiding his thoughts.

Seeing that Tyler seemed offended, the girl stopped laughing and quickly apologized; "Oh no it's not you. It's just what you said....it was funny. Also how stupid they all look struggling through the door. I couldn't help but laugh....."

She paused as if praying her response was enough to end Tyler's "hostility" towards her.

"Hmph, Good......" Tyler rolled his eyes before crossing his arms and looked at the door, waiting for the commotion to end.

"Hmph! So rude!" The girl also did the same thing as Tyler while pouting angrily.

But not even three seconds later, she was already enthusiastically bickering, "By the way my name is Aurora, what's yours?"

"The North Pole...." Tyler stated bluntly before walking away leaving the girl in disbelief. Tyler wasn't a rude person, he just didn't want to make any friends. It would make keeping his big secret extremely hard to keep especially when they walked in on him chatting with a floating book or mercilessly torturing a person.

"He's such a jerk! Hmph! I don't want to be his friend anymore!" The girl pouted angrily before walking out of the train too.

After the freshers exited the train, they were led to the receiving hall in groups according to the cabin they used on the train. At the receiving room, there was a teacher for each group who led them to an assessment room.

From the moment the boys saw the teacher who led them to the assessment room, they had become like mindless love zombies. They couldn't contain hide the lust in their eyes.

Her beauty wasn't a single, striking feature, but a symphony of subtle details that played upon the senses. It began in her eyes, pools of molten chocolate that held both mischief and wisdom, framed by lashes like dark, silken curtains. Her hair, a cascade of spun moonlight, flowed down her back, each strand catching the light like a whispered promise.

She wasn't just beautiful, she was captivating. A masterpiece sculpted from stardust and dreams.

Her black vest and cargo pants attire highlighted her gracious figure for the mortal eyes to see.

The room seemed to be in slow motion as the boys couldn't help but stare at her like she was a goddess. Some of the females also couldn't hide their admiration and jealousy.

"Alright listen up! My name is Elara Crusher and I shall be your class teacher from now on," her voice sounded like a soft melody enticing the soul. However, when they heard her name, all the boy's ogling eyes turned into ones of fear. The reason was- the one who was going to be their class teacher had a high ranking in the League. She was one of the most powerful women who mercilessly slaughtered anything that stood against her. Everyone knew of her name. She was the famed Slaughter Beast!

"The exercise we are going to be doing today is quite simple. You will show me your emblem and I shall grant you an electronic name tag displaying your tag. This name tag will also act as a key to your rooms. You can find out the details of your residential areas from behind the tag. Thereafter, you can go on about familiarizing yourself with the campus. Just make sure to report to Class D-1 on Monday.......Shall we begin!"

"Daren King!"

The name she called out first stunned Tyler out of his seat!
