(Hey y’all this is your second favorite, third wall breaking main character, Quivs. Now I know you are all wondering, just how the hell is he that good looking? Well let me tell you, it is all about exercising, eating right, and of course pilates so I can maintain my tight butt. Anyways why don’t I tell you a little about me.)
(Let's see. I am twenty three years old. I like long walks on the beach, ponies, and peach yogurt.)
(Actually I am sixteen years old. I was formerly a circus performer in the Bringling Sisters Circus. I was kind of a king of all trades. Yes a king. I mastered archery, cardistry, acrobatics, sword play, beast taming, and my favorite illusions. I mean what is more fun than messing with people’s minds.)
(Now notice that I said formerly a circus performer. I left that life a little while ago because I just got bored of the life. After learning everything I could in the coney world I got bored. Originally I was an orphan that escaped from the orphanage and joined the circus, and at first it was fun.
I enjoyed the thrill of learning new things and pushing myself to my physical limit. Straining each day to keep up with the physical demands of the performance. I also liked the constant travel that allowed me to go to different countries and distant lands.)
(Everything was well for a while but after ten years of the circus life the spark disappeared.
A couple weeks ago I left that life and now find myself roaming around an empty street in the city of Riverbend, in the Mindus kingdom. Probably not my brightest idea to be in a country in the middle of a civil war, but you know YOLO!)
(About that civil war. Currently Mindus is in a massive civil war between the Magi Nobles and the the Mortalis. The Mortalis is a insurgent group bent on overthrowing the Magi Nobles. The Mortalis are a highly advance group of normal humans that use technology to fight. This means giant robots lasers and rockets, fun. The Magi Nobles use mana to manipulate the different elements. Notice that they manipulate element. They are more like elemental benders.
In all of reality none can actually perform true magic. What I mean is something that truly is not restricted by anything. All known beings even gods (lowercase g) have to follow the laws. This is all a story for the future however.)
As I walked down the street I noticed several stall vendors preparing to open up for the day. Many were putting out there products. There were several meats, cheeses, produce and even jewelry.
Now kids I don’t promote stealing but it just so fun. Actually though please don’t steal.
As I walked by a stall with several apples stacked upon each other I “ accidently” bumped into it. My “accident” secretly caused one of the ripened ruby fruits to fall into my hand. Before the husky male vendor noticed I slipped it into a hidden pocket in my pants. “Oops! Sorry man I wasn’t looking.”
“It is fine but just watch where you are looking.”
Sucker
As I walked off I looked for my next target.
A half hour and a few stalls later I had myself a nice lunch of fruits vegetables, and even two chicken kabobs. All in all it was a good day. I casually ate my lunch at a leisurely ate my breakfast before taking off again.
I wonder if there is anything fun to do around this city for fun. Maybe I can find some fun in this backwater town.
(Hey readers what can one find in a typical frontier town in a fiction written by a depraved writer? What was that, go to the mercenary's guild. Uh well i just don’t like killing, jk. I don’t really have a weapon however. I don’t know I guess it wouldn’t hurt.)
Looking around I found a lady in a flowing yellow dress and carrying a basket of flowers. Putting on my best showman's smile I walked up to the woman trying to look as least stalkerish as possible. Remember readers don’t talk to strangers, well unless they offer candy. Anyways right as I got right in front of the lady and took my bow. “Excuse me madam. May this wandering vagabond inquire some of your time?”
Surprised by my actions the lady stumbled back in surprise.”Well excuse me. I am sorry sir but I have to go. Uhm if you need help you can always ask a guard.”
“I much rather get help from a pretty woman however. If you wouldn’t mind why don’t I walk you to your destination while we talk. You never know it could be fun.”
“Well I wouldn’t mind but are you sure. I mean I am just going to the florist to drop off these flowers. I don’t know if you would enjoy it.”
This girl is too pure. She meets a stranger and instantly lets him join her to go somewhere. I better make sure that she doesn’t end up in trouble. “Sure why not I love flowers.”
As we walked to the florist we ended up talking about life and what not. Turns out this blonde, blue eyed beauty is the daughter of a lesser noble in the city. She is out right now trying to get help from the florist to arrange some flowers for her mother's birthday.
(Dianne, yup that's her name, seems like a really nice girl, but maybe a little slow. However she puts on a persona of an airhead something tells me that there’s more to this girl.)
(Some of you may be wondering why is he going off track and following this girl. Well let's just say that I am more of a lover than a fighter.)
A good 15 minute walk later we had finally made our way to a short one story building with an open roofed section in the front that housed several different species of flowers. A woman with waving brunette hair and olive skin stood at a table arranging several bouquets of flowers.
“Excuse me Julie can you help me. You know that it's my mom's birthday coming up so I wanted you to help me arrange some of the flowers i brought from our gardens.”
“It would be an honor young miss but you really should stop ditching your guards. I bet Jack is pulling his hair out right now. By the way who is this young man with you. Could it be you found yourself a man. You know that your dad wouldn’t be happy to hear that, especially since he has all those suitors lined up.”
Blood rushed to Dianne's cheeks as she blushed in embarrassment. “Wh-What are you talking about. He is just a stranger I met in the street. His name is uhhh???? Uhm sorry what is your name.”
“Ooh my goodness you have been dragging this boy around but you still haven’t either learned his name. You must have really fallen for this boy, love at first sight. So boy what is your name.”
I wouldn't have thought it possible but Dianne actually turned even redder than before. She looked like a little kid that has just been embarrassed. It actually quite adorable.
“Well hello there Ms. Julie, I am just a humble ex traveling performer named Quivs that is just trying to find some fun.”
“I remember you know. You were apart of that circus group that passed by here a couple weeks back. Weren’t you known as the star of the show the mad magician?”
“I would prefer the handsome magician, or even that magnificent wonder of a man, but you know that doesn't really sell tickets. In a business focused on entertainment you have to do what sells. By the way that is a nice lily you have in your hair.”
“What are you talking about? There is no lily in my hair.” As she spoke she ran her hair and as she felt the flower a look of astonishment filled her face.”H-h-h-how in the world did a you do that. That is impossible. You never even got within ten feet of me. You never even used any mana.”
“Well that is for me to know and for you to wonder. Dianne now that you can get your business done. I think that I better get gone.”
“You don’t have to go you know.” Acting like a little child she started to rub her knees together
“Than what do you think I should do for the rest of today.”
“Well you could hang out with me. I don’t know. Look at what are you making me say. You know what, I don’t need this. Just go.”
“I would love to go on a date with you.”
“D-d-date.” Touching her hand to her cheek she stood motionless as if she was trying to understand what i had just said.
“Come on now, don’t mislead the girl you are going to make her brain fry. Next thing you know you are going to propose, get married, and have two kids.”
“M-m-marriage” Just than it seemed that Diane got information overload and passed out.
After a while of trying to resuscitate Dianne we finally got her to be functional. (Note to self if I am ever going to be messing with Dianne again, bring some smelling salt.)
“Are you okay now.”
“Hmpf meanie. I am never going to talk to you again.”
“What if i bought you dinner?”
“Fine then, but you better not go cheap on me.”
“Okay so it is a date then.”
“D-d-date” Once again Diane passed out.”
“Idiot why did you have to say that for. You just saw her pass out once. I hope you are willing to take responsibility. I don't know what she told you but this is the daughter of the city lord.”

(Dang it i Knew that there was something different about this girl. Oh well I guess that it is to late to be regretting this decision. Mind as well see where this leads me.)
Hey readers I know what you are thinking. There is a forbidden romance flag. I am not going to deny the possibility but remember nothing in this life is so simple. Anyways back to the story.
After we woke up Diane for the second time the rest of the afternoon went off without a hitch. Diane got her flower arrangement finished for her mother's birthday and even ordered a couple of flower arrangements as gifts for some of the women guest.
“Now that you are done with your flowers why don’t I treat you to that dinner I promised. Why don’t you follow me madam and we will be right on our way.”
“Wait don’t I get a choice in what we are going to eat?”
“Nope.”
Taking her hand I started running off. Holding on to her hand firmly I led her through the winding streets, through back alleys, through crowds of people, and through the city gates. Finally we came to a stopped just at the end of a meadow just where the forest started..
“ Pant-ha-ha-ha hold up Quivs you are going to fast I can’t keep up.”
“It's fine we are finally here.”
“Ha-ha what are you talking about there is no food here. We are just at the edge of the forest.”
“Exactly. Before I entered the city I was living off this forest. I actually camped at this spot before I entered. And don’t worry about food there is plenty out here you just have to know where to look. Just sit down and relax.”
After finding a couple dry branches, twigs and leaves, I stacked the wood up on the side and used the leaves to form a sort of nest. I than took a flint stone and an iron rod I keep in my pack and striked them to send sparks towards a small pile of leaves. Want they caught fire I started to add the smaller twigs. Once the flames picked up I added the larger branches. After a while I had a blazing fire burning. Before taking off I made sure that the flame was nicely contained. Wouldn’t want Ole Smokey to get me.
I next ran into the forest to find scrounge up some food. Luckily I found an old forgotten orchard of apple trees I didn’t see the last time I was here. Besides that I also found some berries, nuts plants and even some edible shrooms. (Yup shrooms, and no they are not the psychedelic kind.)
I took my finds back to the campsite where I found Diane sitting in front of the fire tending to the flames. “Hey I am back with some food. If you are ready I will start preparing the food to eat.”
“”You know Quivs when I said that you would have to treat me to dinner I meant in a restaurant or at least somewhere with chairs.
“I didn’t. I think that this is better anyways. It not everyday that I can enjoy the company of someone under the stars. Though I think that you shine brighter than any of the stars above.”
Seeing her Blushing face I knew that I said the right words. Feeling good about myself I began to prepare our dinner.
I roasted the the nuts in a small pan I had in my pack. And charred the shrooms over the fire. While the cooked we feasted on apples and berries. I cut up the greens with a small paring knife from my pack and tossed them with the roasted nuts and apple pieces. We ate the shrooms and impromptu salad with great delight. In the end we laid down beside the fire happy and full. As we looked at the stars we began to talk.
“Uhm Quivs.”
“Yeah.”
“I am sorry I lied to you.”
“What are you really the daughter of the city lord instead of a lesser city noble.”
“Uuu. who told you.”
“A little birdie.”
“Damn Julie.”
“Is that really the way a young miss should talk.”
“Shut up stop teasing me. I am eighteen not some little kid.”
“Whatever you say. You will still be the innocent princess in my eyes.”
“Hmpf”
(Hey readers don’t you think that Quivs should stop acting like a jerk?)
(Hey there is only room for one third wall breaking character in this story. Get out.)
(B-b-but. I just want someone to talk with. You're teasing me to much.)
(Damn puppy dog eyes put them away they burn. I’m melting melting!!!)
(Meanie. I am definitely not talking to you any more.)
(Urrgh fine just don't do it when I am not around.)
(Yay.)
“Quivs what are your plans for the future.”
“I don’t know. Right now I guess I will just go with the flow and see where life takes me. I think that it has worked so far, it has led me to you.”
“Don’t you have any family, friends, or anybody that cares for you.”
“I was an orphan so I never knew my parents. The closest thing I had to a family was old man James who was the old ring master in the circus. He taught me everything he knew and even helped me develop some of my tricks like the one I pulled on Julie. H died a couple years back though. It was never the same after he left though. It was empty.”
As a spoke I couldn’t help but to be on the brink of forming tears. (Yes readers even I have a heart.)
“Ooh. I am sorry.”
“It's fine.”
“If you don’t have anywhere to go why don’t you stay with me. No. I mean stay here in this town. You know, uhm, oh I don’t know.”
“I would love to.”
Before we knew it we ended up talking till the moon was well into the sky.
“Well I guess it is time that I take you back. The city guards are probably running around like headless chickens trying to find you.”
“Can’t we just stay a little longe.”
“I am afraid night. Besides I think its about time you go to bed isn’t it.”
“I AM NOT A CHILD!!!”
“Sure.”
(Oh my god that face she’s making is so cute.)
(Really thanks. I try.)
(Hey this was supposed to be a private moment between me and the readers.)
(Should have put a ring on it.)
(What?)
(Nothing.) ;)
(Fine.) :(
After putting out the fire we walked back to the city by using the light of the moon and stars as guidance. When we made it to the city gates we saw two guards with increasingly worrying faces.
Guard 1: “They still haven’t found Miss Diane yet. Where is she this time. I hope she hasn’t ran into some trouble, otherwise it will be our butts on the Lord's wall.”
Guard 2: “I know how you feel. I know that she is a pain to look after, but she has never been out this late before. Jack has been running around town all day trying to find this black haired green eyed boy she was seen running around with. Think she is off snogging with him somewhere.”
(Yes the final reveal of what I look like. There description doesn’t do much justice however. I think I look quite handsome. I have a pretty average looking build, however my body has been trained to the extremes for flexibility speed and power. There's is no room for over developed muscles that will get in the way. Also my eyes are also very harming. Much like a dark emerald that glistens in the light. Anyways that's enough about me back to the story.)
“Hmpd is that how you guys think of me. I would love to tell daddy about what you guys said.”
Guard 2: “Ahh!!! Miss Diane I didn’t mean that. I was just meant that young miss is independent and can do what she wants.”
“I wouldn’t mind going off and snogging with you somewhere.”
“Y-y-you jerk this isn’t the time to be talking like that. Anyways guards let us pass. As you can see I am perfectly fine. Now I would like to get home before it gets even later than it already is.”
Both Guards: “YES MAM!!”
Moving as fast as they can the guards opened the gates and let us pass.
For the rest of the time we had with each other we enjoyed walking through the city. Because of her request we ended up taking longer by taking the scenic route and visiting different fountains and flower gardens, but honestly I enjoyed every minute of it. Eventually however we ended up in the front of the gigantic manor she calls home, which is located in the middle of the city on top of a hill.
“Well I guess this is it. I will see you around I guess.”
“Quivs promise me you won’t leave. Stay here with me. There is still tons of things I still want to do with you.”
“I won’t leave trust me. Why don’t we meet up here tomorrow in the morning. We can celebrate your mom's birthday together.”
“I would like that.”
“Than it is a promise.”
“Yeah.”
“Goodnight Diane.”
“Goodnight Quivs.”
After we said our goodbyes Diane went inside the manor grounds. From a distance I could hear guards announcing the arrival and safety of the Lord’s Daughter.
