Chapter 1 - The Merging

Many have wondered and tried to ascertain what exists between the worlds...only to come up with no clue nor inkling about this “void” between worlds where souls would usually go before being reincarnated or ascending into the higher realms.

One of this souls was currently happily pacing around on a world that seems to be many times bigger than ours. It looked around happily and the blue ethereal ball could be said to be brimming with joy.

It had finally found a world that would allow him to enter its vicinity and even freely float around. After eluding the beings who kept souls like him in check for an indefinite amount of time he had finally found freedom...and he was going to enjoy it to it’s fullest potential.

The soul raced across the whole world before finding the perfect body that seemed to call out to him. The original soul of the body was currently dying at the bottom of the river that it seems to have fallen into.

The soul slowly floated downwards and entered the body in a slow and refined matter, before completely slamming into the body that was at the bottom of the river. The body itself spasmed for a few moments as a new host overtook it.

It was a futile attempt at the original soul who had hosted the body because the new soul had an immeasurable amount of experience and time while in remaining in its sole form, so both souls quickly fused and merged with the new soul gaining the consciousness of the original.

The body slowly shook and then swimmed upwards against the current and blasted itself out of the icy river that was going to be the cause of it’s demise. The body coughed up blood as pristine wet white hair become tinged with permanent streaks of actual blood.

The newly merged soul reviewed the memories of the former owner of the body and sighed as it seemed that it had kept all of the memories of the former owner, causing a small headache to slowly emerge from the influx of all the information.

His name is Yun Chu. The second son of the imperial chief of the Chu Clan.

It also seemed that this world was a world where the strong ruled and the weak groveled at the expense of the strong.

The residents cultivated either the elemental energy that floated thickly in the air or the spirit energy that was created by the core of the planet that supposedly housed the mythical creator.

It was deemed that Yun would have immeasurable talent because both of his parents were beings who were at the 1st stage of the Earth Realm. It was also deemed that he would have an immeasurable powerful spirit weapon or armor as well because of how monstrously talented his parents were.

If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

So imagine the shock and surprise of the clan elders when they found out that the supposed son of the supremely talented monster was in actuality talentless and unable to cultivate.

They immediately set an example of Yun, bullying and humiliating him.

Of course this all stopped when the father of Yun threatened to release his full spiritual pressure upon the enormous mountain range that the clan resided in. The full strength of a being at the 1st stage of the Earth Realm was nothing to scoff at.

But the message had been set, from that day onwards almost all of the kids inside of the clan had bullied and humiliated Yun Chu daily. Some going even as far as to beat him.

The father of Yun packed up and took the family to leave the clan and join a distant empire that was considered to be one of the weakest. It was the Ying Empire. The original empire that the super-power now known as the Chu Clan had broken off from.

The Ying Empire accepted the imperial chief and his whole family with loving arms and virtually every single of the children actually befriended and vowed to protect the shy and rather mature boy who had came with the family.

Yet the scorn and humiliation that the boy felt had set a deep message inside of him and he became a natural shut-in and was extremely anti-social. It was also the immeasurable amount of scorn and humiliation that gave him the aura special to him.

People called it the heartless aura because of the infinite abyss of coldness that they would see inside of his eyes when he first used it. Some frost had even started to slowly form and ice spread out from where he was standing.

Almost all of the clansmen rejoiced and heavily celebrated when they saw this miracle happen. A boy who was supposedly “unable” to cultivate had just used one of the legendary elements. It was an obvious cause for celebration.

This reached some of the ears of the bullies that had beaten Yun daily. Thus they traveled to the outskirts of the Ying Empire and beat Yun badly after getting him out through some ingenious method and dropped him in the ice cold river that encircles the capital of the Ying Empire so he would die before fleeing and running back to the inner circle of the Chu Clan.

They had never imagined that Yun would survive, nor that he would become one of the strongest existences to live under the watchful eye of the heavens itself.
