This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.

personality: weird, has trouble talking to people, apathetic, doesn’t trust plants (they’re plotting something, I swear), if it doesn’t affect them, they don’t care, will do anything to reach a goal, brutal in fights, talks to themself/narrates what they are doing, forgetful, pretty fucking dumb, sporadic, and casual about death and illegal stuff.

bio: they were born on May 7, 2032, in truthsdale, Kentucky. Their father committed suicide when they were 3, and their mother was an alcoholic, with no father figure or supportive mom, mal was a problem child, they got in Trouble at school for not knowing boundaries many times. When they graduated high school, at age 19, they dropped off the grid. 2.5 years later, they reappeared being arrested for (its a secret for now ;) ) and sentenced for life at Richard Mackerson state prison. 16 years later, they were being moved to Miller Shade State penitentiary for behavior. On the bus ride there, the happening, well, happened, and they escaped.

Author notes: mal is a mix of a little bit of me, a teensy bit psycho clown, a sociopath, and a majority of action movie villain. The me part is from the poor memory and the self narration. the psycho clown is from their batshit crazy fighting style. The sociopath comes from their apathy, and their willingness to do anything to get what they want. The action movie villain comes from their knowledge of crime, and appreciation for theatrics.

mal is a hard character because it is hard to like them, they just kind of do stuff, but that is also what makes them so fun to write. Their sporadic and guiltless nature allows me to take the story anywhere I want. Mal is Mal, (ooga booga mal see thing, mal do thing) the reader can basically watch mal do something, and change what’s happening around them to see how mal reacts.

Mal is definitely the weirdest of the draft characters, but the most fun. We’ll get into the previous drafts next chapter.
