MC POV
Some time passed, and I got to level 5 in the inspection. I couldn't do anything as I could not spend any free points yet, and The XP threshold for leveling up is 1,000. Also, for some reason, I only got 1 free point. I was a bit worried, but it could be free points are handed out by level. However, I need a larger sample size to be sure. I was mind-numbingly bored, so I decided to count anything is better than that.

It was a common skill and gave me 10 XP. With nothing better to do, I just counted.

Well, this is taking forever. Maybe, if I count minutes, too, it will level up faster.

Circadian Rhythm (Lv 1)
Well, I know what to do for the next few days.
---------------time spik---------------------
A few months passed, and I learned a bit of the language. I wasn't an only child, as I had a 6-year-old older brother, Ramu. My father was Aharon, and my mother's name was Aashirya. My father looked like a merchant, and my mother could do magic, so she was probably a mage.
I found out what the words for mom and dad were, and The word for mom was Mama. I then remembered how on earth. Mama was in every language, in Chinese it was 妈妈 (mama), in Xhosa Umama, in Russian мама (mama) and in Quechua Mama(This is true, look it up). I wonder why? Did it originate with some ancient proto-language?
Anyway, the word for papa was Papi. It was strikingly similar to Russian папа(papa), Chinese 爸爸(baba), Japanese パパ(papa), and Spanish papá. Could there be some cross-dimensional super-civilization? (foreshadowing)
Leaving aside possible super civilization. I tried to speak them out loud. First, mama was the simpler of the terms. I made an AH sound. Then, I moved the lower jaw upwards. It was harder than I thought it would be. Afterward, I made vocalizations As I moved my jaw downwards. It worked!

Huh, what the hell does this mean? Wait, I notice the decimal point. Is that how close I am to a higher state? Well, only one way to find out! I watched Endurance as it was the closest to the next level and easy to test. As my stamina retched 1. Endurance went up by 0.01, and I got 10 more stamina.

A year passed, and I found level gave 2 free points. It got me a pattern, but it could just be giving +1 randomly. I needed to get to level 3 to know for sure, and I managed to get the uncommon skill of mathematics. I finally started walking around. It was harder than I remember.
One doesn’t normally think about the mechanics of walking, as it is an almost automatic reflex. I simply would think about where I wanted to go, and my legs would carry me there. Each time I took a step, I was, for a moment, balanced on one leg. So to start, I tried marching in place. As a young child, my walking was a bit more akin to waddling than the gait of an adult, so marching in place was a bit awkward. My knees would go out to the sides, and my hips would twist more than I intended. I kept my focus on my movements, trying to slowly shape my spastic dance into a clean march on the spot, knees raising towards the front while keeping my body still. Once I had that under control, I slowed the march down. Then I felt on my face I'll try again later.
I also spoke my first words in Udatbhasha; the language my parents spoke. The language has the word order of Subject-Object-Verb (SOV). For example I ice cream ate, as opposed to English Subject-Verb-Object I ate ice cream.
I found 6 vowels e, y, u, i, o, and a. I found 17 single consonnats leters so far ɣ, s, t, d, n, r, ʔ, j, d, ɓ, k, l, c, p, m, b, and g. I found 7 consonant digraphs gh, bh, kh, ch, tr, ph, and dh. I found 2 consonnats trigraphs sch, and tch. I found 1 consonnats trigraph tsch.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
It also had grammatical gender, masculine, feminine, and neuter. A word is masculine if it ends with gha, and if it's feminine if it starts with sha. Neuter is the default, if a word doesn't have sha at the being or gha at the end it's neuter. For example tagha (Bother), shata(sister), and myta(sibling).
It had a past, future, and present tense. They have Simple, Continuous, Perfect, and Perfect continuous versions, But there is also a tense I dub the unknown tense. It's when something could, either be in the present, the past, or the future. For example, let's say you had a bank heist and ended up a couple miles away. When talking when the guards will find out, you robbed them. You would use the unknown tense.
Verbs have declension when you are talking about yourself, by being suffixes to the pronoun, and nouns and verbs add the prefix ca when it's plural. For example, lon catagha si(he has many brothers), ops catagha( I have many brothers).
Adverts come after verbs, and adjectives come before nouns. For example, kha tyga mi tscha ud(the beautiful restaurant is very: the restaurant is very beautiful) Because of all my research, I also unlocked the skill decoder. Common skill gave 10 XP per level, uncommon gave 50, and Rare gave 100 if this pattern country epic should give 500 XP. Also, I unlocked the skill of multilingual an uncommon rank.

After all that, I wanted to try to get mana. I know it's possible because I literally have a stat called magic. Now, in magic stories, usually, you have to meditate first, so I started with that.
I focused on a simple physical sensation at a time: the soft couth against my skin, the sound of chirping birds outside. I tried to anchor myself to reality. I chose to meditate to further soothe myself and pass the time. It was no mystical technique, just a simple focus on slow breathing and trying to banish any stray thoughts.
It was an exercise I had done a hundred times before. I kept my mind empty focusing on the outside world.

---------------time spik---------------------
I watched my mother- Aashirya sifting through a disorganized pile of articles and books scattered on her desk. It was a familiar sight. She was a magical researcher and had done this before.
She Had light brown skin, a round face, and big round almond-shaped eyes. Her lips were dark brown, and her hair was straight and black, reaching down to the seat. She had a hook-shaped nose, like Europeans.
I saw her grab a particular paper, and she was very engrossed in it. It was when I came to a startled realization, I did not know how to read. I knew how to read and write English, French, Spanish, and Hindi, but this was a new world with new languages and different alphabets.
"Mama, can you teach me to read?” I requested her when she looked up from her scribing.
She looked mildly surprised at that. “What brought this on?” she asked.
"Well, you are always reading. I want to too!" I exclaimed as childlikely as I could.
She smiled at me. “ I think you might be too young.” she chuckled as she grinned.
Huh, that made sense, I was only 3. “How old were you when you learned?” I asked
“I was eight.” She replied
Whoa, that was late, but it made sense this was a medieval world and even on Earth it wasn't common in the past. “Is that when everyone learns to read?” I asked.
She laughed again. “No, not everyone learns to read, and of those that do, most are nobles or high-level people.”
"So, literacy was not common in this world, but I have seen my mother write things on paper when using magic. Maybe, that's what I was missing it's been 2 years since I unlocked meditation, but at that time I had not found any magic at all. I needed an in, though, something to convince my mother to show me the basics. “I want to see my name written down!” I said Hopeful.
"Alright," my mother said, as she grabbed a spare sheet of paper.
She wrote a letter on the board with a pencil. “This is a UK,” she said, pointing to the letter. She wrote another and pointed at that. “This is a shack, and this,” she said as she wrote a third, “is a que. Those are the letters in your name.” She said. The letters looked like a combination of Devanagari and the Latin alphabet.
She then made a particular connecting mark before the UK a different connecting mark between the UK and the Shack, and the same one she put before the UK after the Que. “This here is how you make the U sound before the UK, and this here is how you make the A sound between the UK and the Shack, This here is how you make the U sound after the Que. Those are the diacritics–er, the accent marks.”
I noticed the long line at the top it was like the line in Devanagari. Also, she wrote it left to right, like in English.
“Can I try?” I asked, and my mother handed me the pencil. I wrote my name down.
*ding Literacy
“Wait,” I said trying to learn the alphabet. “Can you show me Papa’s and your name too? Please?” I got my mother to write out “Aharon” and a few more names and words, memorizing the letters as she did, which was effectively instantaneous due to my literacy skills.
"Thank you", I said as I ran off.
