So, I figured I’d let you all know that the story now has the tag mature, rating 15+ for strong language despite the fact that these words were something I’ve been hearing by people 13 years old. Welp, whatever.
Also, I changed the title.
The old one was kind of ‘meh’ for me. (“I got Revived by the One who Killed Me” was the old title. Just letting any new people know in case they’re curious. I just realized that this thread still has that name. Dah, well! It's all good! And now It got changed... Guess there was a delay :3) I’ll probably stick with my current one.
Anyways~ I hope you enjoy reading this chapter~
----------------------------------------
I was shocked speechless for a while.
Reflected in the mirror was the face of a rather androgynous foreigner about my age with soft and delicate features
Long black hair with a tinge of brown where the light glared on it replaced the short, pale green hair I inherited from my mother.
The silver irises I grew used to seeing was now a deep black as well.
That unfamiliar face in the mirror mimicked my exact expression.
As soon as I came back to my senses, I grabbed the collar of the man who held up the mirror and shouted at him,
“What the hell did you do to me!?”
“I revived you♡” He replied with an easy-going smile.
“Stop fucking around,” I growled lowly.
“I'm not kidding, you know? Don't you remember what happened right before you lost consciousness?”
What happened…?
That was…
My entire party was exhausted.
And the man before us, the King of Darkness, was still laughing haughtily at us before chanting the longest incantation we've ever heard.
After our futile attempts to interfere and cancel his magic, great burst of light exploded before us.
An excruciating pain overcame my body.
I thought I had died from that, but…
I woke up.
And now…
“So… You're saying I did indeed die from your magic..?”
“Ahaha~ Not just that, but your body was completely vaporized! Which is why I made a new one for you!”
I blanked out for a moment.
Though magic wasn’t my speciality, I knew for a fact that something like revival magic didn’t exist.
However, the man in front of me was the being known as the King of Darkness.
He was infamous for doing the impossible, ever since the first town he eliminated from the map.
The entire town and people simply disappeared, and in its place was a massive crater beyond comprehension.
Although there was existing magic that could be used to explain how the crater appeared, the sheer scale of it made it inconceivable.
Afterwards, he appeared before the kingdom capital and announced his identity, his being the responsible for the destruction of that town, and his plans for world domination.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
All while standing still high up in the sky.
Though it was possible to soar through the sky using wind magic, it was virtually impossible to stay perfectly still in one place.
There was always some sort of visible movement, no exceptions.
Until that moment, at least.
In any case, I wouldn't consider something like revival magic and creating a new body impossible for him.
“...Why?” I began, “What possible reason could you have for reviving me?”
“Hmm… Well, I could tell you, but that would also mean revealing my trump card to someone who wants me dead… Now then, what to do~” He answered in a light hearted tone.
This bastard… He's playing with me.
“Mm, if you want to know my deepest, darkest secrets, you'll have to earn my trust! Makes sense, right?”
“.....”
I rolled my hands into rigid fists, with my nails digging in my palms and drawing blood.
Trust? He’s telling me to earn his trust? Am I supposed to become all buddy-buddy with him or something?
“Ah! Jeez, relax! There's no need to hurt yourself, is there?” He reached for one of my hands.
I yanked my hand away and twisted my body around to give him a roundhouse kick.
He dodged, with widened eyes and one brow raised in confusion.
“....Are you telling me to act like your friend?” I muttered quietly while gritting my teeth, “To the one who killed everyone? The one who killed my entire party!?”
The idea of acting as his friend, earning his trust, and ruining him completely flittered through my mind, and the sheer thought of it was revolting.
“There’s no way I’d—”
“Huh? Oh, everyone’s alive, you know?”
“......Huh?” A dumbfounded noise weakly escaped my lips.
“Yeeeaahh….. About that final attack. It wasn't meant to vaporize you like that… if anything, I was planning to blow you miles and miles away and hope your mage would be capable of a magic that could lighten your fall.”
I couldn't process what I was hearing.
“I did manage to do it! That mage of yours… What was his name? I can’t remember, but I’m certain that he had enough mana in him left to cast that sort of spell! All your friends are probably severely injured from the fall, but I'm sure it's something that can be healed. Hell, I even managed to blow everything but the floor of my chamber away! Impressive, right?”
I don't……
“Except you were probably too close at the time. The force of it all was suppose to push everyone away. I'm not a science sort of guy so I don't know the exact reasons why, but somehow you got killed in the blast for being pretty much close enough to touch me...”
Is he saying…
“I killed you on accident! Sorry, my bad!”
Don't apologize for killing someone with such a goofy, happy-go-lucky smile on your face!!!
