Synopsis

FICTION PAGE TO BE DROPPED! READ LATEST ANNOUNCEMENT! The fiction page will be kept for a while to host the drafts of the chapters, which will be actually posted in the new, not-yet-published, fiction page for the story. I hope to not waste the reader's time before the novel is properly set up in its new page, so I'll write a final announcement when it's finally functional, to let current readers know. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, and hope you all can have a pleasant reading experience on RoyalRoad. [This book is a product of a passion project of mine. It began primarily to introduce its world, with its approach to understanding magic as a natural study, but it grew as more creatures and magic were looked into. Now, magic has almost endless possibilities theoretically, but only as far as explainable. Eventually, a character deserving of having his own tale sprang up, the MC of this story, and then two other offshoots of this I might write later if I'm able. But I don't intend to make the stories into simple exposition pieces or lore dumps, I intend to have those as only background in the text. Once I got the confidence boost to begin writing, the words started falling into place, and now I present this story to you. Also, necromancy from the undead's POV and sympathy/empathy from those around, and maybe a bit of high-stature politics and negotiation involved.] --------------------------------------------------------------------- The Málheim - the Home of Tales - has countless Worlds within it, and each World has myriad Legends. At its center, in the so-called "Mortal Realm", one child was flung into a seemingly ordinary journey. But, as if by chance, who he was, who he became, and what he experienced layered repeatedly on top of each other, forging one of the Málheim's most exceptional stories: the origin of the Herald of Eternity. Now, let us examine closer how that came to be.
