There was nothing.
Well almost nothing.
There was a conciseness.
Everything else had disappeared long ago. The existence floating in the endless nothing had memories of things.
Lights, spheres of fire that seemed infinite up close but were so small in the scope of the nothing. The existence remembered traveling through the spheres. They made it feel warm. It remembered them dying in bright flashes. Those were its favorite moments. How sad they were so short.
There were dim balls of rock too, but those were boring to the being. It remembered seeing one with other minds on it, but they were trapped in “bodies”. It hoped they would escape one day. Those minds had some interesting ideas. It had wanted to go back eventually, but it seemed those “bodies” couldn’t survive one oof the sphere’s deaths. How sad they couldn’t experience it.
Eventually the last sphere died. The being was sad. There were only the hungry spots left. Those didn’t feel good, so the being didn’t spend time in them. Of course, with no more of the warm spheres, the only thing it had to play with was those spots.
There was a line that kind of tickled the being. It was a good bit away from the spot, but stuff started acting weird after the line. It spent a little time going back and forth across the line of all of the spots left in the emptiness.
A lot of time passed. The being didn’t have much of a concept of time, but even it could feel the passage a little. Eventually the hungry thing it was around stopped eating. After some more time it glowed! It was only for a moment, and it wasn’t as nice as a sphere dying, but the being was still excited. After it stopped, the hole was gone.
More and more of them glowed and disappeared. The being managed to catch all of them, bathing in their warmth.
Eventually they were all gone, and the being was again sad. Now It truly had nothing to do.
More time passed. So much that even the being felt it somewhat. Eventually it noticed something impossible. The infinite emptiness around it was shrinking. It couldn’t understand how or why, but it was.
Time passed and the being realized that it was also getting smaller.
Time passed and eventually all of the small rocks and dust collected in one spot, as the emptiness followed, compressing to a single point. The being did the same. It felt strange. It kept getting smaller and smaller, but it was already smaller than even the hungry spots. Considering everything that had been in the emptiness was with it, it was strange.
It was warm though. It spent an endless amount of time existing within that single point, along with everything that had ever existed. After that endless time passed, the spot died.
An event infinitely warmer than the death of one of the spheres. The emptiness was back and expanding infinitely again. It was slightly different this time, but the being didn’t know why. The being was happy.
Eventually the spheres returned. There were other rocks with minds on them. It seems like these minds were also trapped. How sad. Some of the minds managed to move across the rocks, even while trapped. They had to make things to do so, however the mind was impressed. A few of the Spheres this time glowed differently. They felt different too. Still warm, and nice. But different.
Eventually the being noticed another mind that wasn’t trapped. The other noticed it as well. They were happy. They enjoyed the sphere’s deaths together. They went back and forth over the lines around the hungry spots together. Eventually there was nothing else to do besides be together. The conciseness decided it preferred to not be the only one.
When they were again forced into a single point, it stopped being able to notice the other. It was sad.
The spot expanded again, and the being searched for the other mind. It eventually found one, but this one was smaller than the one it was looking for. It left the new mind to keep looking for the second one. The Spheres were slightly different this time as well. They seemed a bit bigger, and the rocks around them also seemed bigger. The spheres still died. For some reason these felt even nicer than the mind was used to. It didn’t stop searching.
By the time all of the spots stopped eating it admitted that the other mind was gone. It was sad. More sad than it had been before. It eventually spent the rest of the time with the new mind.
At some point it ended up in a single point again. Just like last time, it lost track of the other mind at some point during the time it was in a single point. The point expanded again, and it found a new mind. The being didn’t search this time. Nor did it search the next. Nor the next.
The mind noticed some things after some thousands of these cycles. It was growing. At first it thought the new minds were smaller and smaller, but when it realized it was now larger than some of the glowing spheres, it admitted that the new ones were not the ones changing.

It noticed that while the smallest spheres were now a little smaller, the largest spheres were hundreds of times larger than his original spheres. The spots also ate more before they died. The minds that were trapped also seemed to survive a lot longer. The being had decided to count the cycles at some point, and during the 12,523rd cycle some minds survived the death of the last sphere.
After that the being decided to watch the trapped minds more. The other mind that was free always did the same thing. The first being wanted to do something new, So it watched.
While the thing the trapped ones called “language” changed, the ideas behind the “words” stayed fairly consistent. It learned that the spheres were called “Stars”, and when they died it was a “Supernova”. The hungry spots were “Black Holes”.
The expansion of the 23,571st cycle was painful. The being had reached the size of a “Galaxy” before, but it seemed like it was now only as large as an average “star”. At least that was what it thought. The stars of this cycle seemed even smaller than the cycle it was born in.
The being quickly realized that things were different this time. There was another energy across the emptiness. It felt really nice. Both the being and the new mind of this cycle searched for the areas with the most of this energy. Surprisingly the “Event Horizons” around the black holes were the best places to find this energy. The Black holes ate the energy too, but the first mind was strong enough to keep it away from the black holes. The new mind wasn’t.
The first mind spent cycles just enjoying the new energy. It was growing far faster now. It reached its previous galactic size after only 172 cycles. It noticed there was more of this new energy every cycle.
Eventually it resumed its practice of watching the trapped minds. It was astonished at the difference. It seemed like this new energy allowed for the “bodies” of these new people to become far stronger. It watched the minds progress and live for cycles. Eventually the being decided to name the energy “Vital Energy” after a particularly successful civilization named it so. Considering it strengthened the body, the being thought it fitting.
Exactly 25,000 cycles after the first compression, there was another. The being noticed that while the vital energy inside of it was denser and of a higher quality, it was fundamentally the same.
It watched as the trapped minds were able to grow stronger and stronger. One thing it found interesting was that the more vital energy a civilization had the slower it developed technology. Of course, this was balanced by the fact that people lived far longer.
After exactly 100 compressions, the being experienced another painful compression. It seemed there was a new energy in the “universe”. After absorbing this new energy for 3 compressions, It went back to watching the trapped minds. It decided this new energy would be called “Spiritual energy”. The trapped beings could expend this energy to affect their reality.
The mind could do so as well, but it saw no point. The trapped minds had others to fight against. Things to protect. The only other mind like it was the baby mind born every cycle. It was so comparatively weak and dumb that the first being no longer considered them the same. It knew there was something different. The longer it lived the smarter it became. The new minds were still playing with event horizons.
It played with its spiritual energy a bit. It destroyed a few “Planets” and stars before deciding it was a waste. Eventually it decided to try and start compressing the spiritual energy itself. It only found a little success, however this little success cut 12000 cycles off of the next compression. Considering the being was the size of a galaxy cluster, it was happy with its result.
Time passed, and new energies were created by the universe. The fifth energy was the one that caused the most drastic change. It had taken 12000 compressions to achieve this new energy, even with the being helping out. Said being was compressed from covering about 3% of the entire universe, to being the size of one of the “Planets” orbiting a star.
The biggest difference was that the new mind was no longer born an idiot. They could speak to each other; however the new mind had a duty to fulfill. It always called itself the “Heavens”. The first being tried to interact with it for cycles, but with no luck. Another thing to note was the length of a single cycle was greatly lengthened.
The first mind named this new energy “Heavenly Energy”. It also noticed that there were trapped minds entering this universe with carrying the laser energies. It had previously noticed some of the minds leaving, but only now did it realize that they were going to other universes. It decided it wanted to try and do the same.
The first energy was vital energy, for the body, then spiritual energy, for the soul, then there was mana, for the Will. The fourth energy was Qi, for the body. The fifth was heavenly energy, for the soul. The being was confident that the sixth would be another energy to enhance the will.
While the being was able to destroy planets with spiritual energy, mana allowed it to destroy galaxies. It knew that the sixth energy should follow the same pattern. The being decided to focus on absorbing energy for a while before attempting something it knew was dumb.
The being spent many compressions simply absorbing the heavenly energy. It started noticing more people entering its universe. Many seemingly from equivalent universes. Whenever it noticed a being with a higher energy, it absorbed them. At one point there was millions of beings with extremely dense heavenly energy that appeared. The being enjoyed that meal a lot.
By the time the being thought the next energy would be born, it took up almost the entire universe. During the next compression, it was almost destroyed. After it was smaller than the body of a human, One of the most common species it had seen. The being decided to only improve his current existence and not expand anymore, that was part of his plan to leave.
After a few hundred compressions, one of the trapped minds finally grew enough to “Ascend”. The being knew the trapped one would fail. It took another 700 compressions for the first success to appear. The first mind still waited. 700 Compressions later it found someone with less than a .0001% chance to fail their ascension. That was good enough.
It hid within its energy core, and ascended with the “Woman”. The moment it left its universe, half of its strength left it, staying behind. Then it fell out of the woman it was hiding in. In the void between universes it stalled. The being no longer had any actions to count, however base on previous experience, hundreds of new energies could have been produced by it’s universe. Eventually it felt another mind. This new mind was far, far beyond itself.
“Well, what do we have here?”
“What an interesting soul”
“Lets find you a body, ill have to remove most of your memory, but its mostly useless anyways”
“A tier 9 universe has a God tier potential mortal being born. Does that sound good enough. I thought so. Well, I hope I’ll see you again one day, ancient one.”
The being again experienced darkness.
