"Hey, Lu, are you awake?"
I woke up to the whispering of my brother. As soon as I opened my eyes, I got blinded by a painfully bright light. Trying to make it go away, I waved my hands at it.
When my eyes had adjusted to the light, I looked at him. "Are you trying to make me blind with that lantern? Put it away."
He slowly put it behind him, in a way to illuminate the room but not direct it towards me. At the same time, I glanced at the window, it was still night, the moonlight illuminating faintly the room as well.
"Why did you wake me up?" I asked him.
"There's a client outside," he said. "It's urgent."
I quickly got off the bed, wondering what might've happened. Hurrying downstairs to reach the main entrance, I swung open the door and was greeted by the sight of a wagon parked outside. An old man was assisting another who appeared to be injured, blood pooling beneath him as he struggled to stand.
"Please, Lu, help him!" the assisting man shouted.
I quickly approached him. "What happened?!"
"Those bastards of the Order! They've reached even our village!"
"The Order?!" my brother asked.
"The conversation can wait, let me heal him before," I interjected.
I helped the man to lie down on the ground, and then, I commenced the healing. "O' spirits, heed my prayers, for thou art the only one who can relieve humanity's pain."
Thankfully, the spirits heed my prayers, and a green aura manifested around my hands. Hovering them over the injuries, quickly, it was as if they never existed.

The man's breathing steadied, and shortly after, he began to explain. "Lu... they're searching for you."
My eyes widened in shock. "They're searching for me?"
He nodded. "I said no word about you, but you should run away..."
My brother approached, placing his hand on my shoulder. "What do we do, Lu?"
I shook my head. "We're not going anywhere.... We can't escape," I said to him, before turning to the man once again. "Thanks for letting me know, but don't worry about us," I reassured with a smile.
The man sighed, thanked me again, and then departed.
I returned inside with my brother as we discussed about it, when both our attentions were suddenly diverted away.
"Brother Lu, brother Nick... what's happening?" our sister woke up as well, she appeared still drowsy, rubbing her eyes as she yawned, a teddy bear in her arms.
"Bernadette, you're awake. Did the noise wake you up?" I asked her as I approached to reassuringly pat her head.
"Hmm-hm," she murmured.
"You should go back to sleep. You have school tomorrow..." I said.
"School sucks," she retorted.
My eyes widened. "Who taught you such words?"
"Brother Nick..." she murmured.
I glared at him.
"What?! That's not true!" he objected. "It seems you're becoming a big liar, missy..."
She stuck her tongue out at him.
I sighed. "Come on, go to sleep. I'll tuck you in the blankets."
Nick and I went to her room to make sure she fell asleep, but once tucked in the blankets...
"Brother Lu, can you tell me a story?" she asked.
"A story, huh? Hmm... alright."
