It's been four days since that explosion happened, we went back to the inn with that strange girl, we gave her a prober bath, cleaning her from all that blood and dirt was quite a challenge, I'm really glad i have Diana, her being a mage is a blessing in my life, she is the reason i can take hot baths everyday with her water spell in our disposal. Though she only does it for me, she prefer not to do it for the guys for some reason even though they need it more than i do. They take their regular baths once a week and I really wish they could do it more than that.

Anyway.. with diana's help we managed to clean our damsel in distress who might be in a deeper distress than any damsel i have ever known before, which i often do being an adventurer and all.

She was quite most of the time, might be too quiet for her own good, sometimes I can't hear her breathing which concerns me. It's like she has lost her spirit in that explosion. We tried asking her of what happened or even what is her name was, but she seemed like she wasn't even hearing us. Sometimes she would wake up from her sleep screaming and crying, I would hear her begging for something or someone to stop and she would be in her panic attack until i put her back into sleep with a spell.

Those panic attacks is the reason Diana moved out of the room, she is rather a light sleeper herself, if something wakes her up she finds it hard to go back to sleep after that, that is why she decided to find another room, it's tight for our budget but she said she can handle it, well, she is our treasury keeper so i know i can trust her words.

Now I'm sitting in my room getting some potions ready for our next quest, we got a word of some monsters attacking a farm not far from here.

Why am I making these potions when i'm a healer myself you ask?

Well, to explain that i have to explain what healing is all about first, yeah sure i can heal injuries and wounds and some mental issues too and that all comes from hastening the body own healing function itself. I don't go and heal things like they never existed, that is unreal. I have the power to get the body itself to just make the healing process faster. For example if someone broke his arm, normally that would take few weeks to heal on itself, what i do is use my healing power to make the body make that progress faster, what takes few weeks i can make it in just a few seconds. That applies to using sleep spell which i seem to be using quite often recently. I just adjust the drug that our body makes itself for sleeping, increasing the rate of the brain releasing it can make the person sleep on the spot. That is the reason for healers being kind of not so much very common.. it requires the knowledge of the human anatomy to be a good healer, my mother been teaching me this since i was 5 years old. I absolutely have no knowledge of anything else, like I can't calculate as good as Diana and I absolutely cannot cook as good as Torfick. I spent most of my life learning stuff that would only benefit me as a healer and mixing potions is one of them.. you see, potions are like a backup plan to me. What happens when there is a lot of people that need healing but there is only one healer. Some of them needs immediate attention but there is only one of me, hence potions. Potions have various uses, i have antidote, paralyze heal, healing potion. They can't do much but they can help until i am able to help that person myself. I can make poisons, paralyze and sleep inflecting potions and some other stuff for damage, being a healer leaves me vulnerable alone so i need something to protect myself with if the situation needed, I learned that the hard way. Also i sell them for other adventurers, more pocket money for me heheheh.

I noticed i was grinning to myself when i felt the eyes of my other companion who shares the room with me looking at me.

I looked at her and smiled.

She looked away instantly avoiding me, looking at her she seems a bit younger than me, with her long ashen hair hiding half of her face. Her dark eyes looked so tired and devoided of life. She still wears her weird clothes, thanks to Diana's magic we managed to clean them well.

Oh well, i better get back to work, i still have a lot of potions to make, other than the one i need for our quest, i have an order that i need to fulfill for some other adventurers.

"Are you ..?"

Huh.. wait did someone talk?

I looked around but no one in the room except me and that girl. I looked at her again and she wasn't even looking at me.

"Are you leaving?"

It is her.

Wait, she is talking to me?

"Leaving?" I repeated the question.

She glanced at the bag that was beside the bed i was sitting on preparing my potions.

"Ah yes.. leaving! We have ummm .. there is a quest for exterminating monsters, so we are getting ready to leave tomorrow morning!"

She looked worried there for a second, don't tell me she is actually worried that we are leaving her alone?

Well, we are though, we definitely can't take her with us when she is like that.

Now that i think about it, what are we going to do with her? It's a 3 days trip, will she be okay by herself? Should i find someone to take care of her? What about her midnight panic attacks? What should i do?

Just when i was trying to figure out what to do by myself she continued "can i go too?"

Why is she whispering, i can hardly hear her!

"I don't think that would be wise! Considering your condition."

I didn't want to turn her down but i must be realistic here.

"Don't leave me please." She said that with a bit more force than she used to. She was scared like a little lamp that was about to get killed, i've seen one that Torfick turned it to a delicious dinner one night.

Ah, damn it what I'm thinking here?

"You know, I don't even know your name! Why should i take you with me in the first place!" I threw that one for a teas only, i went back on my work ignoring her like she usually does to me when i try to talk to her. Even though i know what she have been through, kind of!

"I don't know" whispering again she threw that information at me.

Wait a minute!? Don't tell me! This is not even funny!

"You mean you don't remember anything?" I asked knowing the answer already and she confirmed it by shaking her head slightly as a no.

Hey, is this one of those stupid stories about the one forgetting everything because the story teller didn't have an idea how to put a background story to that character? I've heard a lot of those back in the day that they kind of drive me crazy.

"Seriously!" I sighed and stood up and went to her bed where she was crouching in the corner of it and holding her knees like a scared little rabbit. No i'm not gonna bring another story of some food here too..okay!

"So what should i call you then?" I asked putting a finger on my forehead trying to think of a name.

She stared at me waiting and looking at her eyes she reminded me of .. ah forget it , it's another animal damn it.

After pondering around this for a while i came with a name.

"Ash"

"Ash?"

"Well, i'm a bit lazy, i just thought about it looking at your hair"

That is right, she has a really lovely straight ashen hair that looks really well on her.

When we first found her she was covered in so much blood that her hair looked red just like Diana's. After washing it i was a bit surprised honestly. It is what impacted me the most on her.

"You don't like it?"

"No"

Seriously?? Ah well.. whatever .. i gave up and went back to my potions since i still have alot of work to do.

She sat there looking for awhile until Diana came barging into our room like she owns the place, well technically she used to stay in this room.

"Are you done Riya? Tiffany and her group are asking for those potions"

"Ah, nope.. i still need to mix some of those parlays heal they asked for" answering her honestly there and still doing my work.

"Well, well, well.. seems like our Riya is slacking off today! That's unusual!"

"Leave me alone."

"Aren't you in a bad mode today or what?"

"Ah, sorry, alot of things in mind right now."

"Like?"

"What are we gonna do with Ash!" I felt her eyes on me unsatisfied with that name.

"Who's the hell is Ash?" Understandably Diana's asked me about the owner of the name and i nudge with my head towards the other girl in the room with us while still working on my potions.

"Did she talk, is her name ash then?"

"Nah, i just gave her that name, and she doesn't seem to like it though"

"Well, I don't blame her, you are kind of a sadistic if you gave her that name knowing that she was traumatize from seeing burned people all around her!"

She got a point there, I wasn't thinking about that when i gave her the name though .

"Then what should we call her? All I'm thinking when i see her is the last moments of the animals that Torfick kills to make us food."

"Seriously Riya, you need to broad your horizons a little bit, well let's see"

Diana walked across the room and sat on the girls bed which made the later cower even more.

"Well let's see, how about~.." [scan]

She activated her scan spell, what a way to rub salt into my wounds.

"Void?"

"No."

"And she talks?!"

" Ah yes, she started talking just few moments ago, she seems to have forgot her name!" I answered Diana's who was staring at the girl which made the later actually uncomfortable.

"So if you don't like Ash or Void..! what the hell with void by the way diana?"

"Ah.. i was referring to the dark thing inside of her, what is that by the way? Do you know?" She pointed that question to the girl who shook her head as a no.

"You are even worse in naming than i am diana, I can't believe it"

"Hey, don't judge people here, i never had to think of naming anything in my life before! Not like a certain someone who has already 10 names ready for his future children, not like he has a woman to begin with."

I laughed so hard on that knowing what she means exactly, Madd is one crazy person at times, he would start talking about his future kids like they are actually real.

"Maybe we should ask him to name her then!" I suggested that realizing that he might be the perfect person for the job.

"Be my guest, I don't mind calling her the strange girl, it actually started growing into me"

"How about Kira?" Madd stated his suggestion after a deep thought. "It's the name of the biggest eastern star that makes the archer constellation, we found her in the east of here, so how about that?"

"For a crazy person you're not actually that dump madd, that actually sounds like a decent name" diana commented on the name while madd was a bit furious for the crazy and not that dump part.

After suggesting the name to the girl she seems okay with it. So we went with it, her name now is Kira.
