Chapter One

Ah, I see so I was stabbed by a dagger at my back, huh. Curse those who did this to me. If I lose any blood I will surely die. This warm feeling in my back and the blood flowing outside, I stumbled upon a tree, there I lay my whole body, slowly. Ouch, It truly hurts. I was careless for letting my guard down a little. I was panting, struggling to have a breath, I think I'm nearing my limit. Ah, I think I can rest in peace now. Hopefully, but not yet. I tried to stand up and walk as fast as I could. They were still there, trying to find me to hunt me down, I think. I'm still so young to die in this world.

My name is Val Vaughn, even though I'm in this current state I can still explain some major events on how I ended up being in this situation.

I was the youngest member of the "Perplexing Assassin Group". My trusted captain ordered me to do a job about finding the Lost Blade of the Hero. I scouted the inside of the palace where the king and his family lived, they are currently sleeping at that time. But someone randomly attacked me behind my back. And I managed to escape, I counted their group of around 10 assassins or guards, and they were chasing me now and I fought them one by one and after another. However, they were very skilled and that caused me to be severely wounded. However, I still managed to defeat the 8 of them. And that's how I ended up here.

I've reached my limit, ah, I'm losing my sight, I feel so dizzy, am I gonna die in a situation like this? I already lost so much blood. Val Vaughn collapsed in the forest of Tamaya far away from the King's Palace, Val's wound is so deep that he might miraculously survive. However, it was his end and that he died at a young age. He did not even do what he truly wanted.

[Don't you think you'll die easily, Val Vaughn! You still have so much thing you want to do and you have to do. Quit being an assassin and live a simple life rather become an adventurer and make many friends, meet new people and go to new places. Make an expedition throughout the continent or the whole world.]

A voice of a girl, ringing in my ear, waited. I'm not dead yet? I tried opening my eyes, and there I saw a beautiful young lady, calling my name saying something that I couldn't hear.

"Hey, Val....Hey Val Vaughn...Hey....Val Vaughn!!!!!!'' a loud scream in my ear, made me fully awake.

"Where am I?" I asked.

"You're in the Realm of Deities," The young lady replied.

"In the Realm of Deities?" I repeated what she said.

"Yes, you're in a realm, you died during your mission, and that causes you to be in this presence," the young lady replied.

"Then are you a goddess," I asked.

"Yes, your guess is correct," she replied smiling.

"Then wh-" I tried to ask her why am I here but she interrupted me.

"If you're gonna ask why you're here, it's absolutely because I summon your soul and that's why you're here. I was watching all the creatures who lived in the world that I created and that I saw your miserable death. And now I'm planning to revive you in the world that once you lived in, however, on one condition I can revive you if you have something precious that you are willing to give up. That's make our contract better." She said smiling while staring at the small circle looking like a ball of sphere which I saw on the continent's of the world.

"Then, I will give up my memory," I replied hastily without even having a second thought.

"Are you sure? Then I will start the reincarnation chant," She said. Stretching her hands above her head and swinging the wand she had in her hand and then she chanted the spell to bring me back to life.

[Our great goddess of Life, may this little creature be bliss in his next new life, I hope this creature will have a great new life]

"The reincarnation spell was completed, you'll be able to go back safely," she said after finishing the incantation.

"But why do I still have my memory?" I asked.

"It's because you haven't gone to the world where you truly belong, and I wanted to talk to you a little bit more, but it looks like I was busy. So, I will send you right now," She made a loud voice yell at me. She touched my head.

"Wait...Wait...can I know your name?" I asked before I collapsed.

"I'm Rhett, The goddess of Bliss. I hope you'll remember it."

Rhett said to the collapsed Val Vaughn and then he was reincarnated in the place he once lived in. Val Vaughn was sent back to the place where he died. In the forest of Tamaya.

"Val....wake up... Hey Val...wake up," said by a voice of a man.

I was slapped two times in my face, left and right. I opened my eyes and there I saw four people. Wearing a black shirt and a black trouser, they also wear a veil concealing their faces. And someone called my name.

"Val. Hey, wake up, are you fine?" said by a man who wore the same as the other three.

Someone was casting a spell on me. I moved to the left and then there I saw another person. His healing my wounds? Wait. Why do I have wounds? The wounds are in my back.

"Ah....Uhm...who are you people?" I asked.

"Huh!? What are you talking about Val, we're your teammates. And Why do you have so many wounds in your body? Did you mana-," he has something more to say but someone interrupted him. Another one who still wore the same attire.

"Jale, just keep your mouth shut a little, look at him he is confused," Said by the person who interrupted him and the person who snapped him is a girl. I can tell by the voice, even if I can't see her true face.

"Yeah, yeah," answered Jale, the guy who looks like the leader of the gang.

"Val, how did you end up here? And did you manage to retrieve the Sword?" asked the girl.

"Huh!? I don't know, what are you talking about," I answered her. She moved forward a little, while the other two who just finished healing my wounds. Made a way for her. She touched my head.

"Stop acting like an innocent, Val. You know what we're talking about, right?" She pulled off my hair. A tiny hair in my head.

"Ouch, that hurts, why did you do that?" I shouted. I didn't mean to shout at her, It was just a reflex.

"Val, have you truly or perhaps have you lost your memory?" she asked.

Her eyes turned into round-dark, she is puzzled, I can tell by her eyes. We are in the forest which I don't know and I think I don't really remember anything except for my name. I was leaning in a tree.

"Wait did you really forget us? did you know me, tell me my name," said the one person who named Jale.

"I don't know you people, and the sword, what's that? And why do I have these wounds?" I asked. I stood up and I looked at my body. I was wearing the same clothes as them. I started to get confused. How did I end up being in this place? I have so many questions in my mind but I can wait a little for that.

"You don't really remember what happened?" the guy named Jale asked me.

"Let's just interrogate him later, will just bring him to the Leader for now," said the girl.

"Well that's a good idea, Fren. Let's do it okay. Val you'll come with us to the hall. We will ask you a couple of questions," said Jale towards me. He continued "Okay, Jen, use your portal scroll, bring us back to the hall."

"Okay!" said the guy who named Jen.

He pulled a portal scroll from his left side pocket and then he put it in the ground and he summoned a gate.

"Whoa!....That's fascinating." I said with curiosity.

And we went inside the gate and then we arrived at our destination.

After we arrived at the Hall where the highest ranked people gathered. I was being asked multiple questions right after another, and I was finally able to see the faces of the four people who saved me in the forest but I did not see the faces of the highest ranker in the organization that I'm in. I learned that I was a member of an organization which is called the Perplexing Assassin Group. And after I was interrogated I was sent to the place called the village of Bancroft. I was quite lucky that I did not receive any punishment after failing that complicated mission. Well, it was explained why I ended up being there in the first place. They told me that I was a truly skilled assassin and that I became the first youngest assassin that recieved a medal of honor from the 'Master'. But the truth is I don't remember any of that, the only thing that I remembered is that I was having a nice dream and then I forgot what's next. Anyway, I'm now here in the village of Bancroft, living a simple life. I lived alone, though. It's already been a month since I arrived here though.

A loud knocking appeared in my door. Jeez, what's happening now, for real ever since I was sent in this village my life became hell, I haven't have good rest and I was always received an order from the village chief, Jeez....I wonder why there's a loud knocking in my door in this time at night, you all people in the village is sleeping now, for real." I opened the door and there was a young lady who's around the same age as me, I can tell just by her face. She is full of sweat in her face, and she is panting so hard. I wonder what happened.

"Uhm...Wha-" I haven't even finished what I'm going to say but she already interrupted me from saying it. She quickly grabbed my hand and brought me into the village. We ran from the forest to the village where all of the houses were blazing in flames.

"What in the world is happening in this village! Why is there a fire appearing in here!" I screamed. Hurriedly I help the villagers avoid being hit by the fire. "Thanks...." I was planning to say thank you to the lady who knocked on my door but she was gone.

"Here, go...go...go in the forest, come here! Go on the forest for the safe," I yelled at the villagers who's panicking.

"Please save my daughter, she is in the house," said a woman, crying in me together with her another child. "Okay I will do it," I replied.

"Thank you, Val." She answered.

I rushed to the house where I heard a little voice of a girl, crying and screaming. Ah, there she is but it's hard to go across there due to this fire. If only I know what my magic power is.

The houses of the villagers are burning. Surrounding the whole village and I looked at the surrounding, I was thankful because all of the villagers managed to escape. Now, I think I have to find out how I solve this.

"I hope Val's safe," said by the village chief.

"Yeah, I hope so," said another man.

"Ah, there he is, he had something in him," a young girl said to his mom.

"Ah.....Here he is, safe!" said another woman.

The villagers started to cheer up Val, and luckily Val managed to save the little girl. He walked straight towards the people who's watching him and cheering on him. The woman who asked the favor of saving her daughter from the fire, greeted Val and her daughter was crying on her mothers shoulder. While Val starts to lose his balance and he passes out on the ground.

Hah, luckily I managed to save the little girl, but what was that I saw, it looks like there's someone hiding in the forest just before the wooden fire fell out on us. Well, in any case I saved the girl but I injured myself too much.

"Hey...Val...are you fine...Hey!" screamed by the village chief. He continued. "Someone bring him in my house and give a piece of clothes also treat his burned parts and if you can't treat it completely, send a messenger to the Divine Healer and bring her here, I'll pay her as much as she want just to heal the young guy who saved us, Go On!" said by the village chief hurriedly. "This young guy will be miraculously lucky if he manages to survive the fire that produced from the mouth of the 'Fire Salamander'."
