Chapter 3 - Arrival

Chapter 3 - Arrival

So let me explain my first experience encountering humans in this world.

I was ecstatic. Even if the man standing on the bow of the ship parallel to mine was speaking a foreign language, I was enjoying every second. Finally, the first real people I find in this world, and they are humans! But this excitement lasted just until I saw an arrow flying straight towards my skull. Time bubble.

Walking around while time is slowed down by 100x is really good for setting your perspective right. These guys are totally pirates. Are we that close to their continent already? If not, why the hell are they so close to the demon continent, I just left a couple days ago so I can’t be too far away from it…

I continue walking and maneuvering through the slew of arrows fired at me. I’m glad I made a color marker for instances such as this. These people will look much “cooler” with panda eyes and mustaches drawn on their faces. I make my way to their captain looking man, which happens to be the man who was talking to me before they fired.

[This man looks important, I’ll probably learn why they’re in these waters with this] Drake

I put my thumb on his forehead, then lean mine to touch my own thumb. Memory read.

I made this spell for times such as this, it is as easy as forcibly sending your mana into a targets brain (limbic system), and connect it with my eyes to watch the targets memory like a movie from my old world.

Lets see…. coming out I see a lot of light, is this him being born?.... To far back… wow, pirate school is real? Ok he accepted a deep sea quest from a guild to find new land.

Well he was damn close. To bad he ran into me. After watching his memory I can attest that there is only a single innocent person on this boat, and he’s not even part of the crew. These punks don’t even deserve my laser sword. I look around and mark the position of every crew member, and flick my fingers, Combust. I set liquid fire inside each of their hearts and after a single pump, their entire body turns to ash. No blood, and quick. The least they deserve.

I walk down to their brig. Seriously, keeping the only mage in the crew in a cage, because they’re afraid of him? What idiots. After passing several rooms I find myself in front a single steel door, *Vrmm Swish x4* my laser sword leaves molten steel behind as I step over the ridge, inside a room where one man in rags is chained up.

Well, he can’t be all to dangerous if those savages actually managed to get him into this state. I begin to infuse mana in my throat to speak and hope he does the same..

[Boy, I killed your captors. Or as you might still call them, your crewmates. Do you still wish to be chained? Or would you sail back to land with me free, with only one task to do] Drake

The 14 year old boy looks up at me with wet and suspicious eyes. He clearly understood me and I see mana gathering at his throat..

[....Depends on this task kind sir.] Boy

[You know magical perception so you’ll be able to teach me the language of the Albera continent. Once you’re finished, you may go wherever you’d like.] Drake

[Sir, you being this far out west, does that mean we were close to discovering a new land?] Boy

I squint my eyes and look into his. He’s been in this cage for at least a month, and still knows where we are? Look like a found a strong one…

[Yes, we are a couple days out from the demon continent. You and your people are not ready for it yet, and it is not ready for you. So how about it, will you take my offer?] Drake

[demon continent… I will take your offer if you explain where you came from..] Boy

God damn it we got a smart one over here. Might as well get this over with.

I finish telling him about me, how I was sent from another world to be the guardian of this one, and how the demon continent is beyond his reach. By time I finish, I’ve gotten him out of his chains and we’re sitting back on my ship watching the other being engulfed in flames…

[So dangers around every corner, monstrous beasts who want to kill you everyday… you don’t look so strong, why should I believe you??] Boy

I point my index finger up, Fireball. A ball of fire that’s nearly hot as plasma and twice as big as my entire ship appears out of nowhere, only to be shot up into the clouds.

*BOOM*

The clouds instantly disperse to leave a 10 mile long twisted hole of heat. I look down at the boy who fell down and is staring wide eyed at the sky…

[Little boy, unless you’re capable of half that, you’d never survive there. Get stronger on your own, then test yourself there.] Drake

Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road.

He looks into my eyes with awe. What’s with this brat… is this one of those strength rules all, kind of worlds?? sigh… Guess I’ll make it work.

[Sir how strong am to you?!] Boy

I take a good look at him… Scan. Sending a light mana wave through his body I find only his heart dantain has been cultivated, and it’s not even close to being finished…

[You are 1/1,000,000th my strength. I’ll show you the ropes if you do a good job teaching me Alberan, but training always takes time. What’s your name little one…] Drake

There, I did it! I called someone else little one… how was that mr. true god!

[Alex. What’s yours master?] Alex

[Shit no, don’t call me master, I’m only showing you the ropes… let’s get to work come on..] Drake

And so it’s been 5 months of sailing and we are here, the Albera continent. I’ve learned the language and a couple things about the place itself. The country is truly being ruled by the strongest, the royal family. Though I’d call them the barbarian family, because I don’t particularly like the idea of the strongest ruling. They are actually doing a pretty good job though, uniting the continent should have been a hard thing to do after all.

Through our journey of the seas, i’ve also learned that “talking to myself” isn’t a good move, so I made a speaker and attached it to Lily, so she could talk. I ended my little passengers idea that I’m a crazy man at that.

Speaking of Alex, I taught him how to fully format his dantian, and he’s almost there with his heart dantian, but he won’t be strong enough in time to follow me after this, so I’ll be finding somewhere to drop him off in whatever city we land in.

And by landing in, I mean I’ve been following my compass to the dot, so navigating was pointless. Wherever we land, will be where we land. Fortunately, I can spot a port town not too far away, so we won’t be far from civilization as I had expected we’d be.

I climb down the mast of my ship to see Alex sitting on the bow, looking down into the water instead of the town we are about to arrive at. Walking closer I hear him sighing..

[What’s wrong boy, how are you not excited to be back in civilization??] Drake

He then proceeds to look up at me with puppy dog eyes… I see where this is going…

[Are you really planning on leaving me master? I’m to weak, I’ll die there!] Alex

This little punk..

[Yes. You’re too weak to follow me as you are.] Drake

[Tskk…. Worth a try. Thanks anyways…] Alex

Theres the brat I got to know, sigh. Dimension. I reach my hand into a small wormhole I created in front of me and pull a book of magic out.

[Here is a book I wrote. Reading and following its instructions will make you strong enough to follow me if you wish. Or you could just use it to gain strength. If you choose the former after you finish it, the last page should be readable. You’ll find me then.] Drake

Good, now be grateful you little shit..

[Why thank you master. Maybe I can use this book to shield me from magic attacks.] Alex

What a fuckin brat! He doesn’t even know I just gave him a book that’ll probably make him stronger than the king of this entire continent… I’m through with this kid. Teleport.

Hope he also learned how to sail, or he’s gonna crash into the port and fisherman probably won’t be so nice to that brat of a kid. I’m now on top of a roof looking over the entire city.

[Lily, I’m going to use your body as a conduit to scan this entire city for power signatures, are you ready?] Drake

[Ok Onii. The strongest one will probably be that annoying kid you just left though…] Lily

Scan. I start to feel everyone’s power, over 10,000 people. I come to learn that even if you add them all together, they wouldn’t even begin to touch my ankles in power. Although there’s one that’s a little stronger than little Alex, it’s coming from the nicest looking building so it’s probably the mayor, I shouldn’t have to deal with him. Now let’s begin an initial investigation. A bar in the slums shouldn’t have any magic users…

I Teleport and land in an alleyway in the slums, walk out, and start to blend in with the crowd walking until I make it to a stale smelling establishment. I walk in and find a table, sit down, and wait.

The waitress comes to take my order and I ask for a simple beer, she turns around to leave but I tap her on her shoulder leaving a smiley face sticker there… Suggestion: Church of the End.

[Sorry miss, do you think I could order a whiskey instead? Had a long day…] Drake

She accepts and walks away. The magic I just used was mental suggestion magic, that sticker will emit waves in an 8ft diameter that makes people think about the Church of the End and talk about it. The waitress that served me, being the only one of this bar, will surely talk to a lot of people and I’ll be there to listen in. And sure enough, after 10 minutes of dishwashing, she comes back to takes people’s order..

[Hey miss, did’ya hear about how the Church saved 1000 hungry children ov’a in Talm?] random drunk guy

[I know right! The Church is also under the princess’s protection, so she obviously told them about the disrest there!] Waitress

[Hey guys, maybe we should join the Church!... no, we are lowly peasants, we aren’t worth it. Let’s start a local council (fan club) at least?] not so drunk guy no. 2

[We aren’t even worth that Tom! Just give it up, they have practically supported the royal family for decades now, how could we ever get close?] not so drunk guy no. 2’s lady friend

Oh fuck, I need to get out of here before this place becomes a full blown cult. Hopefully miss waitress will find the sticker on her shoulder later, she seemed nice.

I walk out after paying with some coppers that I had “stolen” from the pirate ship I encountered months ago and begin thinking..

This Church has deep ties. Royal family, princess's protection… shit, this might be hard. They didn’t even seem to be evil from their rumors. Maybe they’re doing shady shit behind the scenes?

[Let’s join the Church and save the world Onii-chan, they are the absolute. The greatest!] Lily

[Haa haa real cute Lily. I know you wouldn’t be affected by that weak magic.] Drake

[Hee-heee did Onii just praise me? I love you!] Lily

Haa.. Thank you Lily, I’m pumped now. Let’s go visit this mayor and see if there’s any shady Church shit in this town.
