Sorry about yesterday, I have been busy (My classes go from 9 am to after lunch, then I have my internship.... Stuff to do... Lots of stuff....
Most of my time will be spent outside my house, away from my computer, but when I can I will try and write a chapter during the week (Weekends will still be released as planned except for this coming weekend, I have a 3 day ski trip that I will be going on, I will probably be taking my laptop, but I dont know how "Iffy" my internet connection will be....)
PSA Over, enjoy....
Sara winced at the question asked to her, giving a faint sarcastic laugh while scratching the back of her head.
Vargo raised an eyebrow at her reaction, before taking on a serious tone and asking the question again.
Vargo : “Sara… Where is my daughter?”
Sara : “Ummm…...Right here?”
She pointed to herself nervously, while having a wry smile on her face.
Vargo’s face twitched in irritation at her stupid answer, before taking a deep breath and narrowing his eyes.
Vargo : “You.. don't actually know, do you?”
Sara averted her eyes, as if to place the blame on the wall instead of herself. A moment later, after seeing Vargo’s irritated stare, she sighed, turning her head back towards him and leaning in.
She breathed out her inhaled breath in his face, before looking him straight in the eyes.
Sara : “I… don’t know…”
Vargo became serious at this comment, before taking a deep breath and steadying himself.
Vargo : “It’s fine… It’s fine… She is a “player” now… She can’t die…She is more or less safe… “
Sara nodded vigorously at his words, and suddenly a thought came to her, prompting her to nudge Vargo with her hand to break him out of his deep thought.
Sara : “I am sorry Vargo…”
Vargo looked her in the eyes, deeply staring inwards, saddened by the news, yet secure in the assumption that his daughter is safe because of her “player” status.
If she were to die, while it would be painful for her, she wouldn’t actually “die” as she would in the real world, she would simply wake up in a hospital with superficial injuries.
That would be the case even if she were to be thrown off of the Eiffel Tower or her body were to be engulfed in a blazing inferno, she would wake up in a hospital after a few hours with only superficial injuries, which would also go away after a few hours.
This is one of the few unrealistic elements of the game that Vargo had added in, you can’t just play GTA Nuzlocke style after all. (Where is the fun in that?) That would lead several people rage quitting after their first death, or the perma death of any person who a high leveled assassin were to set their eyes on.
That doesn't mean that there is a death penalty though. When you die in this game, your stats have a semi permanent debuff on them, and you lose a large amount of money and prestige.
Vargo : “Is there a way to find her?”
Sara : “Ummm… Probably? I think that, given time, I would be able to find all of the people who came to my, no “our” world. I will concentrate my efforts on regaining that power…”
Vargo : “Thank you Sara… If you find my “wife” or her “lover” please tell me as well, I have some business with them. Come see me if you need anything, Tsuki and Zu will get irritated if I don't pay attention to them now that I have expressed interest…”
Vargo stood up from his kneeling position, cracking his knees in the process. He held out a hand to help up the encircled child, still being investigated by the two massive tigers. Sara took the hand gratefully, giving off a beautiful smile.(Which could shake the heavens!!! Who the fuck am I kidding, I'm not a Xianxia writer…)
Vargo whistled lightly, and the two massive tigers broke away from the girl to follow the man who had started to walk away.
Sara watched his back until he turned the corner and disappeared from her sight.
Her beautiful smile faded at that moment, as if it never existed in the first place. A moment later it was replaced by a sad smile, one which knew the sad truths of the world…
Sara : “Your daughter huh? I wonder when I should tell you…”
She gave a sad sigh, before turning around and going in the opposite direction that Vargo had walked in.
Before she had gotten to the edge of the long hall, she had been “intercepted” by an old Asian man, the one whom then had met on the stairs of the Parthenon.
Sara : “Grandmaster Chen I believe?”
The old man gave a bow, his hands emerging from behind his back to clench each other in front of him, the right hand becoming a fist and then being enveloped in his left.

An aged voice emerged from his bowed head in response to her question.
GM Chen : “I have yet to see one of your beauty no matter how long I live, it is like the crystal clear water of the summer melt, and your skin is like the purest white jade.”
She gave a slight laugh at his blatant flattery, taking the compliments with a pinch of salt, before returning his “salute” by clenching her right hand, engulfing it in her left and then giving a small bow.
He gave a slight, lighthearted laugh from her bow, not mocking, but instead it was one in good fun, as if he was intrigued by this new person whom he had never met before.
Behind him, his disciples were still bowed, their heads lowered.
GM Chen : “Good.. Good… Truly, a goddess… Might I ask how one such as yourself comes into the company of the mighty Lord Williams, he is not one to simply allow a newcomer into his palace without reason… Surely he must have been smitten by your peerless beauty and convinced you to follow him. “
Chen’s words were straight and to the point, veiled in compliments. Sara could sense a certain hard inquisition in his words, as if he wouldn’t allow her to walk away without answering the question.
Sara : “Vargo is truly blessed with such a valiant and caring subordinate, to inquire about my origins the moment I walk through the door is a bit rude however, don’t you think?”
Chen stared at her for a moment, a piercing light in his gaze, but a moment later it was hidden again in the joyous eyes of the old man, to be replaced by a jolly look.
He broke out laughing a deep hearty laugh, which reverberated throughout the halls of the Parthenon like the laughter of the gods.
Chen : “HA! HAhahah!!! Truly, I am at fault in this conversation am I not? To approach a guest as a guest and inquire about their origins without first explaining one's own is a fault which I shall surely correct and a mistake which I shall never repeat… Such actions are something only trash would do!
If our gracious Lord Williams has permitted you entry into his domain, who am I but a cricket on the side of the road making idle pointless noise as people walk by?
I must warn you however…”
The serious light in his eyes emerged again, flickering between malice, curiosity, and genuine happiness. His calm voice rang out, as if he was asking someone to pick up a dog turd which had appeared on the floor of his house.
GM Chen : “Long Ting”
Long T(h)ing? : “Yes Grandmaster!”
A certain disciple ran forward seemingly without reason.
He was swift and agile, like a crouching tiger ready to pounce on its prey. His legs extended quickly, pushing his body forward with his arm outstretched.
Within two breaths of time he went from behind Grand Master Chen to behind Sara, sweeping at her feet with his leg and extending a fierce claw attack with his left arm towards her shoulder.
Sara jumped, back flipping, shocked at the actions taken against her. A moment later, her legs descended around the neck of her aggressor, binding his movement and causing him to fall over. Long T(h?)ing fell backwards, bracing himself with his arms before he himself flipped, throwing the girl off.
She slid for a few feet before standing steadily again, anger and bewilderment on her face.
Chen clapped his hands, and Long T(h?)ing bowed, clasping his hands in a martial salute.
Chen resumed his words as his disciple went back to his original position behind him..
GM Chen : “When one travels with the most important man on the planet one must learn to defend themselves. You did well, but there are flaws in your movements which an experienced fighter could take advantage of… Should you wish to correct them, come see me. I shall remind you that due to the nature of the heart of our lord, even the death of a puny outer sect member would provoke his anger, let alone one in his inner circle, should you be captured due to your own inadequacies, especially alive, you would bring great harm to his heart.”
Chen bowed, as Sara snorted and turned to walk away.
A small smile broke on Chen’s face as he stared at the retreating goddess.
His eyes glanced backwards, towards Long T(h?)ing neck, where the red marks from her thighs could still be seen, even after they should have faded.
His eyes returned to the retreating back of the small girl who is more than she appears.
He spoke a few words under his breath, seemingly meaninglessly…
GM Chen : “Truly… A goddess…”
