Chapter 18: Serbian Arms!

Chapter 18: Serbian Arms!

Nate entered the shop with a bang.

That was entirely fictional. He just showed up and went through the front door like any other day.

One time one of his coworkers got injured. When he decided to celebrate coming back by throwing a fake grenade into the shop as a prank.

His family still hadn't found what remained of him.

That was not a joke, all they had left was a pool of blood where he last was seen.

Now while many people would think that Bos wouldn't do such a thing they had also never met her, and also didn't see how pissed she was when the guy did the prank.

So Nate entered his workplace like any other day and immediately started taking in orders.

Some of the workers didn't recognize Nate but those that did just gave him a single nod before returning to work.

Nate worked till Lunch when he was called up to Bos's office.

Nate walked up to the second floor of the Rusty Asshole and entered her office. It was decked out in just a few newspaper articles about times the Rusty Asshole had been mentioned. Nate chuckled at one paper that talked about how they had raided a rival workshop and trashed it after the owners had vacated it.

Them being previous rivals of the shop.

"So Nate, how's your injury been so far. Broken bones and a very scared face, so bad in fact that you had to wear a mask," Bos said. She was turned away from him, sitting on a decked-out leather chair that was right at home for some evil mastermind.

"It's been going good Bos the Boss," Nate said cheekily.

"I would've been beating you to a pile of red mush for that but I'll let it slide. After all, your injured," Bos said as she turned her chair around to face Nate. Holding a cane.

"But I won't be bashing you," she said as she swung around and struck him in the face with the cane.

Babina was watching the Rusty Asshole with rapt attention. Ever since the disaster that had happened with their first attack, Babina had been making some careful observations. For one, it was the fact that Bos seemingly didn't have any ties to the Serbian government.

That was interesting, she had gone through some curious things in her life. Things that would leave her with connections and experience.

Bos had the experience, but Babina didn't see any ties to any form of Serbian force. She couldn't investigate further because she would never get enough access to the shop to gain valuable information. And second of all because you didn't poke a sleeping bear unless you knew how to turn it against your enemies.

And Babina certainly didn't have such a level of skill.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

Babina was looking at the tracker she had been given, it had been modified to show her location to the Forge Master Bep while it showed her the location of Nate Vis.

She didn't have any clear sight of Nate so she was forced to use the device.

As she observed it, she admired how it was put together. First of all, it had been crafted to a fine degree, mixing the cold colors of metal into a perfect blend.

A dial was on the left side, ranging from one to a hundred from the left and right. On the right, there was a black screen the size of her hand, showing her Nate's location at all times, giving Babina a birds-eye view of his whereabouts.

The dial was meant to help control the magnification of the beacon. Showing Babina either the exact room he was in, to an overview of the city.

It was an amazing work of science and Babina suspected the reason Bep was made Forge Master. Babina had seen him work from afar, and as far as she could tell the Forge Master was incredibly skill with this type of tech.

As Babina observed what appeared to be a fight between Nate and god knows what. The signal seemed to distort.

Babina carefully moved the dial to the left, pulling the view out of such a close angle to around where the building was. It still seemed to distort.

She continued to dial it up till she could see the entire city.

From sprawling slums to magnificent manors of the cities elite.

Then the image began to distort, she saw maddening and headache-inducing colors of all shapes and sizes.

The tracker showcasing her warped images of just about everything it was honed in on.

Babina began to panic, the Forge Master would definitely have her head consequences be damned if he found out his device had been 'broken' by Babina.

Babina quickly tried to shake the tracker up, all it resulted in her having tired arms, She struck the device on the top and back as hard as she could without breaking the device.

This was all to no avail.

Babina was about to have a panic attack when the images slowly began to reform into what they once were. Babina sighed in relief and continued watching. Though it seemed the bright glow that Nate's tracker once had was a dull shimmer now, weird.

Nate groaned as he held his face in his hands. Bos had not threatened him lightly before he was attacked, she had brutally beaten him up. Just barely letting up when she realized she was crossing into the lines of attempted murder.

"Now you know not to call me Bos the Boss again," Bos the Boss said smugly as she shat back down.

Nate looked at her blankly as he nursed his new wounds and scars.

"So why did you come here besides the work?" Bos asked.

"I came to talk to you about your contacts, also how did you even know I wanted something?" Nate asked.

"I had my suspicions, you just got attacked by a hate group. Partly because of your stupid mistakes but still. It would be traumatic for anyone. And would cause them to do many things, most unfortunate."

"I can see that," Nate replied.

"So what firearms do you need?" Bos asked grimly.

"Well, they're not for me, but for my 'associates'," Nate said.

"You joined a gang?" Bos asked.

"Yeah..." Nate replied.

"Guessing what you went through I'm assuming it's the Red Cross. Can't imagine any other group you'd join."

"I have to warn you though, the stuff they pull is nearly as worse as Vulcan's Cult. You continue where you're going, and you'll go off the deep end," Bos warned.

"Well, from where I'm sitting. I could either have one displeased powerful organization or two of them."

"That's what they all say. 'You'd rather have this than that' it's a logic that's been becoming increasingly common. Stay safe out there Nate, you'll need to go to Warehouse three. My Serbian friends have a gun-buying range there. It's only open on the Black Market though."

Nate gulped at that, it was the Black Market that he needed to go to get these guns. But the Black Market was controlled by the Red Cross, so that meant those guns they were selling were under Red Cross jurisdiction.

That meant his quick way to solve his debt just went out the window. Bos smiled as this information went through Nate's mind.

"You should've known what you were getting into when you joined this thing."

Thirteen dead, seven injured. All show burns of various degrees. A couple of them have bullet holes, all of them have crosses sliced into their backs. Were inflicted on them around an hour before the burning for all of them.
