“Moob da enjans!”
“Archaz!”
The Federation troops were doing all they can to enter the fortress but were met with problems. Hagkat was trying to make his way through the breach safely, but the troops being clumped up with each other isn’t helping anyone.
Hagkat was having a hard time but it was the only way. Each step had to be precise and had a firm footing on the ground or else he would fall and get trampled. He had to have balance or else he would fall from the force of the others.
The fog was starting to dissipate, making the wyverns forced to leave or else they would get decimated by the ballistae.
With that, they had to quickly enter the fortress. The troops had trouble entering the breach as the corpses were in the way. They couldn't do anything as the nearest ogre was far away. The only thing they could do was climb it or not.
Many were trying to climb it but as they reached the summit, arrows were shot at them.
The gate was a different story. The battering ram was nearly about to break and the engineers were trying to keep it together, but with it, they were sitting ducks, left at the mercy of the troops on the walls.
The siege towers were there and many quickly rushed to it, causing many to get out of the way for it was too crowded.
On the way, Hagkat heard yelling from the distance.
"Kagan!!" He heard the raspy voice of a goblin. "Kagan! Where are you!?"
Hagkat knew where Kagan was, so he stopped going in the direction of the breach and went to where the goblin was shouting.
“Kagan!” The goblin kept shouting. Hagkat was almost near him. “Kagan!”
“I…know. Where he…is.” Hagkat said, pausing between words. The goblin looked at him in relief.
“Kagan. Needed! Hoshpityal too many inshayd! Too less to tend to!” The goblin said to him. Hagkat nodded, he now had a new goal, to find Kagan amid battle.
He knew him personally. He was a caring guy and always there in times of need. So he knew where he was right now. He was near the battering ram.
Slowly but surely, Hagkat was going through the sea of orks and goblins. Nearing the battering ram, he saw some kobolds and orks carrying the injured back to safety.
Once he was there, he heard some shouting.
“Get grrrr them out!!” A gruff voice shouted angrily at the orks who nodded in reply. Hagkat finally found Kagan.
“Kagan!” Hagkat shouted. This gained the attention of a Kobold with a wolf’s head. The kobold had leather armor with a steel helmet to complete the look. The kobold was tending to a wounded ork’s wounds, crouched. The kobold looked at Hagkat angrily.
It was Kagan.
“What!?” He shouted angrily at Hagkat. “I’m grrrr busy here!”
“You. Needed! Hospital.” Hagkat replied.
“What?! Why?!” Kagan asked angrily, looking back at the wounded ork and trying to stop his bleeding stomach.
“Few Workers.” Hagkat replied calmly.
“Shit, shit, shit.” Kagan muttered as too much blood spilled out of the stomach of the ork. Kagan then got a nearby leather bag where pieces of cloth were inside. He then used it to cover up the wound and hopefully stop the bleeding.
“Me blood…am goin ta die…” The ork muttered weakly as he was looking at his wound.
“No, you grrr ain’t! You fucker are going to live. You ain’t gonna die yet!” Kagan said angrily, trying to keep the ork’s spirit alive.
Hagkat knew that even with his angry tone, Kagan cared for others. He always was.
"Ka…gan…can't…any…m…ore…" The ork was beginning to fall unconscious from the blood loss.
"Grrrr shit." Kagan quickly wrapped the cloth around the wound before finishing the wrap. He then looked to his sides before staring at a Kobold with a dog's face. "You!"
The Kobold jumped slightly at the noise, his ears drooping down. The kobold looked at Kagan with a confused face.
"Yes, you! I need you to grrrr carry him back to the grrrr hospital." Kagan instructed the kobold. The kobold nodded before dropping his spear and wooden shield to carry the ork. He put the now unconscious ork to his back before using his hands like a strap to hold on to so that they won't fall. The ork was heavy but the kobold could carry him back to the hospital.

Hagkat saw the whole event unfold. Kagan was also a good leader to look up to. He was in awe.
"You idiot! Grrrr, get down!!" Kagan shouted at Hagkat, startling him and gaining his attention.
Hagkat quickly went near Kagan who was just behind the battering ram.
It was chaos. Many other troops beside them were trying to repair the battering ram to no avail.
Hagkat used this opportunity to speak to Kagan.
"Needed. Hospital." Hagkat said calmly.
"I know, I know." Kagan muttered angrily. "It's just. There are many grrr injured here. I need to grrr help them."
"Understand. But many more. Die in hospital. Without help." Hagkat replied with a gentle voice.
"Damn it, grrrr." Kagan cursed before looking at Hagkat with a small smirk. "You really are good with words. I don't grrrr know how…"
"Me. Too." Hagkat replied with a smile. Kagan sighed in defeat as he stood up and quickly ran back to the camp where the hospital was.
----------------------------------------
Inside the fortress, near the gates were the twins…
Playing rock-paper-scissors with each other. Their weapons and shield were tucked in at their left side while they used their right to play.
Amid the chaos, they were calm. As others ran to support the others, they just waited near the gate.
Their shoulders were drooped down, bored. Their once cheery demeanor turned into a gloomy one as they played.
Arrows ricocheted off their thick steel armor as they waited and waited. None of the arrows hit their weak points.
As they were playing, one of the twins looked up at the sky, seeing a boulder come near them. He signaled his brother by simply pointing at the sky nonchalantly. The brother looked in the direction where he was pointing.
The two then nonchalantly walked away, calm and silent.
As the boulder hit the ground where they once were, they were already a foot or two away from it.
Suddenly, out of nowhere.
'GRRRRR'
The twins looked down at their stomachs. They were hungry. They then looked at each other for a straight minute before nodding and going to the mess hall.
----------------------------------------
The sounds of screams and destruction filled the room.
Many soldiers were dying.
Death was everywhere. Nowhere was safe. Boulders continued to smash the walls. The cannons continued to roar.
Thousands were fighting for their lives. Hundreds were injured, and on the verge of death.
It was chaos.
It couldn't take it anymore.
The figure kept walking in continuous circles, now out of its hole, trying to keep calm and distracted.
But it couldn't take it anymore.
It was shaking quite violently yet silent.
The figure couldn't take it anymore.
The sounds of chaos outside.
It was too much.
Cain couldn't take it anymore. Chaos was happening outside.
Without him.
He did his best trying not to go down. But the sounds were beautiful to his ears. The sounds of chaos excited him. The battle made him shake in euphoria.
He was a berserker after all, and berserkers love the thrill of battle.
Cain wanted to fight.
He wanted to kill.
For the thrill and joy of it all.
And that was it. He finally stopped walking around in circles. His body stopped shaking. Then, he proceeded to open the door, exiting his room.
He slammed the door open before continuing to walk.
It would take him a while to get down. He just started to get the hang of walking.
Though some may stop him, others might be successful in doing so. He will not stop. Not until he finally experiences the joy again.
No more waiting for him.
He was hellbent on fighting.
He passed through the stone hallways, looking for the exit of the keep and down to the third layer's gate.
He didn't quite remember the layout of it so it may take a while for Cain to get down.
----------------------------------------
"Itsh redy!" An Ork shouted.
The battering ram was finally repaired, with the help of many others. It took a long time but finally, it was ready to go again.
Hagkat was one of the ones who helped in fixing it.
Now, the battering ram was moving again, being pushed by Kobolds, Goblins, and Orks alike.
It was good timing since Ogres started to push near the breach. With their help, they could remove the pile of bodies.
Things were finally starting to come into place.
The battering ram finally reached the gate, but it would take a long time to breach open since the gate was made of steel and was thick.
'BANG'
The first hit of the battering ram was heard.
'BANG'
The second one followed.
----------------------------------------
'BANG'
The soldiers defending the gate inside got near the gate, in a shield formation. Each sound of the gate getting hit scared them. The enemy was near them, only two meters apart.
If the gate was to open, it would be a chaotic fight. The horde would finally pour into the fortress as they did on the walls.
The twins finally returned from their break. They were located at the back of the shield wall, ready to fight the enemy.
"RAAAAHHHHH"
The piles of corpses on the breach were swept away by a huge wooden club.
Finally, the horde came. Countless enemies flooded the breach, now able to climb the pile of remaining rubble.
The spearmen were in a shield wall formation as well, making sure that no enemy could break through the line. Swordsmen were behind them, ready to support if the line would ever crumble. Archers were a few feet behind them, firing away.
The first to arrive were the Orks and Goblins, making their way down and charging at the wall of shields and spears.
The brute force of the Orks overpowered the shield wall, yet the spearmen held on tightly.
"NOT ONE STEP BACK!" The soldiers shouted in unison. They were determined to hold the line.
"INVERII SINASTA!*" A spearman shouted.
"FURDAT LIEBEN!*" The rest of the spearmen chanted all together.
The battle of the fortress has just begun.
