Prologue : The Great Game Is...

‘’... and so we welcome all our fellows to enter the realm of creation and their first ever Great Game first of we congratulate …’’

Here in between the 9 and 10 dimension beings of power come to celebrate. Yet all of them are bored out of their thinking apparatus. As tradition dictates they listen to the chosen speaker of the ceremony. A tradition only there because nobody wants to deal with a million years of paperwork to change the mind of the elder ones. And as the organizer of the one and only Great Game, no one wanted to bring their anger on themselves and risked being barred from the celebration.

A young creator, by god standard, rested on a cloud of galaxy close to the end of the crowd of higher beings. Though a mortal may confuse the description with a say on its size, in actuality the being is nought but a few centimeters tall. Not that any description of size from the 3rd dimension means anything in this realm.

He was a long cloud of dust with very few features, amongst them is his noodle shaped body, darker material making a long line across his body and two large stones with a vertical white imperfection acting as eyes.

Not far from his resting spot is a larger and older creator was enjoying a drink. With a stubby elvanoide appearance with a well kept and braided beard, large and expressive eyebrows and a muscular stature. A mortal would refer to the being like a dwarf in shape and size.

‘’Is it always this boring?’’

The dust suddenly questioned his, until then, silent comrade, by quickly vibrating his body to make sound. An act he does perfectly by his nature.

‘’bah, it hasn't changed since I was created by the old ones. You would figure that somebody would have done the paperwork by now to change to a more fun speech.’’

The elvanoid answer before finishing his nebula ale leaving but drops in the bottom or the tanker. He continued speaking with a gruff voice.

‘’Ahaha, as if any of us would want to go through that paperwork. Never enough time to complete my realm to perfection.’’

The snake cocked his head in confusion. Shaking his tail slowly asked about his age, wondering maybe if the dwarf was younger than he looked.

‘’ how old are you, if I may ask?’’

Corking his eyebrow in a question unsaid, he answered without delay.

‘’5 celebrations old and then some.’’

Suddenly, something caught the attention of dwarf gaze at the corner of his vision. Sweeping his eyes until he found what he searched for. His eyes falling on a figure of similar elvanoide origin.

‘’Ahhh sister, finally, it took you long enough! I thought you may skip the event, again.’’

His sister with her curve and tall features, what quit the definition of beauty. she was wearing what would be considered a lab coat fashioned into a nice 1 piece dress. she walked out of the crowd with a quick look in their direction. Her gaze, likewise, falling on her sibling not long after.

‘’Good day to you too, brother. Have you finally release the joy of life in your realm?’’

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

The stubby god signed, the question was always irritating for him. He did not want to release independent creation in a world still in construction. his sister alway pushed him toward that milestone but for once he had a different answer then no.

‘’Why is it the first thing that you ask every time? Bah don’t answer that, I already know why. To answer your question, yes I finally did it.’’

A giggle escaped her lips. Taking a step to the side to reach some sitting. She slowly turns her head and gaze toward the new being in front of her while analyzing him with the precision of a scientist.

‘’And you, young one, how far are you already? Making living things yet? ‘’

The snake turned his head toward her uneasily. Something in her about her made him itch and rendered him just a nervous reptile like any other.

‘’hsss, well I haven’t started on making life yet. I hss… have yet to complete my first galaxy.’’

His truthful answer was met by a kind gaze a predator gave to something they find cute. He shivered in silence. A reaction that she found a but funny

‘’Oh no problem, if you have a question you can always ask me. As your elder, I will be happy to help you in your future endeavors.’’

The dwarf drove his hand over his eyes as he witnessed the snake being scared. He reasoned that he should reprimand her.

‘’I know that look sister. You can’t expect every new one to be a genius like you. You completed your whole universe in less than one celebration and then the next one you announced you made the first magicless species. You should really calm your anomaly of a brain before you crush the new one with your ideas.’’

The snake shook rapidly in concern from what he just learned. A long unawaken creator instinct took over in worry for the creation that she made. Her previous concern was long forgotten.

‘’Wait, isn't mana a necessity for life? How can you make something mana less? Would you complicate the life of your creation? How did you do it? Are there any advantages to manaless being? Shouldn’t I have heard of such a possibility in my orientation? Can you make more…’’

A giggle escaped her lips again. Slowly gesturing for her to calm down. She calmly answer every single question he just asked in succession.

‘’One Question at a time, young one. First, mana is not necessary for my creation's life and continuity. Second, maybe, for all I know nothing changes when you compare a mana less world to a mana filled one. Third, it is actually quite simple, you just need to…’’

She was cut from her answer by a large noise coming from the speaker who finally finished his congratulation to the new creators. Joining him slowly on the stage are 2 other figures commonly known as the gemini twins. the perfect embodiment of duality of a soul. The stage shifted to accommodate their nature, from a stage made of simple wooden board to a galaxy-like structure with two large lights at their center.

‘’...and So I will leave the announcement of the Great Game to the Gemini twins who volunteer for the speech.’’

The speaker left the stage with a simple walk. He joined the crowd waiting for the game to be revealed. The Twins slowly started speaking in perfect unison as the stage completed its shift.

‘’Thank you all for being here once again to celebrate our reunion and pausing the creation of your realm. For This Great Game the old ones have graced us with a planet to play on. Like it has been voted prior to the reveal, the game shall be decided by random chance.’’

They channeled their power to summon a wheel of true randomness to take center stage. The wheel is composed of a perfect circle made of star forge iron engraving with numerous inscriptions with neon red lettering announcing the Game if landed upon. There were 8 sections to the wheel. 3 of the sections were team based competition, 3 for free for all and the two last ones were to be a surprise. Murmurs were already starting and the tension rose. The twins finally turn the wheel.

The voice of the gods rose in a chant, a great cacophony working like the great drum of tension, building and growing for the eventual release and reveal that they all have been waiting for. The wheel ultimately uses all its stored momentum. Landing on one of the two surprises.

‘’And so The Great Game shall be Conquering the world: chosen Dungeon edition.’’

New rules, new concepts, new ideas. The crowd went wild. All of them in haste to know the rule and how they while contribute.

‘’The creator and the person who shall explain the rule to everyone is A̷̝͎͈͊̉l̴̛̠͉̣̳̞͔͒̐͆̚͠i̷̡̤̞̯̖͕͍͔͚̠̗̐c̶͇̈͝͠͝i̷̼̭̻̖̜͈̫̱͉̝̬̅̇́̋̊́̋̍̓̾́a̶̢̧͙͓̝͎̣̥͇̠̤̔̍͑̌͛̓̇̓͌̎͂! you can come on stage.’’

The crowd grew silent, names in the realm of the gods were rarely spoken. But that is not what truly put a stop to the wild energy of the reveal. No. it is who belongs to that name that scares everyone. Speaking of her is as much a blessing and a curse. She brings as much change as she destroys what everyone thought as a universal thrust. The genius, the mana less, the crazy one, the fastest in history, A̷̝͎͈͊̉l̴̛̠͉̣̳̞͔͒̐͆̚͠i̷̡̤̞̯̖͕͍͔͚̠̗̐c̶͇̈͝͠͝i̷̼̭̻̖̜͈̫̱͉̝̬̅̇́̋̊́̋̍̓̾́a̶̢̧͙͓̝͎̣̥͇̠̤̔̍͑̌͛̓̇̓͌̎͂ the Erudition.

A giggle silences the few ignorant. An act so innocently made by so many children turns nightmarish. Particule shifting between blue and purple surrounded her as she appeared on the stage. It slowly transforms and grows ever so big to match the soul present on it. The image of a paradox appeared, a library of knowledge so big that the end wasn't in sight. The stage trying yet failing to represent what this soul is and will ever be. Standing tall and proud in front of them all her fellow god and goddess. She stared in to their souls before making a small gesture. Soon after, a screen of blue hue appeared in front of every god present. On it raid...

The Great Dungeons Game begins!
