The Land of Time

First things first I need to investigate the hour glass. I go around it trying to find any clues of what might have happened to me. While I was walking I saw two blocks at the thinnest point of the glass preventing the sand from flowing. Why would there be a second block? Assuming this had something to do with time travel there should only be one. Could it be Little Me's fault that's possible, but I think there's something else it could be. I thought for a little longer and remembered something huge.

I had a partner named Adam with his help. The blast to the past project was possible. He pretty much did 50% of the project. If the blocks are how many time travelers there are then Adam is most likely one of them. Problem is I still need to confirm if he's actually here or not. The blocks can mean something else entirely but what else do I have to go off of. If Adam is anywhere he'll probably be in the nothingness I was in earlier. It's a gamble but I need someone else if I'm going to solve this.

I ask Little Me where the void was located. She turned around and started going the direction we came from. I knew it was going to be a long walk back. I could just follow her but I would rather get some information just walking in silence would be a waste. I need to choose my words carefully for all I know she could be hostile towards me at the same time throwing out too many questions would cause her to dislike me. I'll give myself just one question. I think about what to say. There's a lot I want to ask right now about the void I was in, about the giant hourglass. I really want to ask if Adam is even here or not but I have one question only.

The question should probably be about this world if Adam is not here so be it but this place is an absolute mystery, first of all why doesn't anything move. I decided that would be my question. It's vague so it would need a lot of explaining on her part way better than a yes or no question. I asked and she said "Everything used to move here. The place were in right now is the Land of Time and the reason nothing moves anymore is cause you had to show up"

That gave me more info then I could imagine. With that question alone I have confirmed that the block was my doing. I also discovered the name of this place, the Land of Time, not really appropriate anymore but guess that's my fault. The most important part is a hunch but I think she's hostile towards me. The way she said "cause you had to show up" means she probably is not too happy to see me.

This could be a problem later before I discover anything or ask any more questions. I need to get her to like me. Still what else do we have in common expect "Wow your name is Racheal to that's sooooooo cool." Maybe I should talk about stuff I liked as a kid. She is just a kid version of me after all. I decided Against it. I don't know that for sure I can't bet on that yet. Should I just ask her that? I probably shouldn't. That would lead into a one sided conversation that was the whole reason I made the one question rule in the first place. I need to bring up something of my own.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

I needed to think of something. What can the both of us talk about something enjoyable, something kids like. I got it. I told her, "Do you like science?" I instantly regretted every word that came out of my mouth. What was I thinking? I just broke every rule I made. It's a yes or no question and what kind of kid likes science but then she smiled and told me "I think science is really cool". I gave off a sigh of relief. I thought I messed up big time but I can't let my guard down again. Step one was a success. Science is definitely something I can talk about time to get the ball rolling. "I really like tech type science. One time I saw a robot that could perfectly sharpen any pencil with complete accuracy." Man, I should work on my social skills. This is the subject I'm most involved in and all I thought was a pencil sharpening robot. She turned around with disbelief "your kidding right". At that moment I knew I blew it. Then she said "that's the coolest thing I heard all week. You're telling me I never have to deal with my pencils snapping over and over again. This is great news." There's no longer any doubts she really is just the kid version of me.

We continued walking and I saw the portal with my own eyes so close to the ground I vividly remember almost falling to my death and now it's just there? I thought about it but there was no reasonable explanation. I already used my one question so I'll keep it a mystery for now.

I jump in remembering the fact that walking is strange here and hoping if I put my whole body in I could adapt faster. Unfortunately I landed straight on my face. It's fine the only person to see that was Little Me who knows maybe we'll look back and laugh at this later. I get up on my feet almost pretending like it didn't happen and try my best to relearn walking for the second time.

After walking just a little bit further I turn back to notice that Little Me hasn't even entered the portal. This could be a problem. I didn't even consider the possibility that the portal was closable. I tried walking as fast I could but tripped before I could get through the portal. I looked up in despair just to see Little Me laughing. "What happened, did you see a ghost in there or something". I was confused but decided the best option was to play it off cool "No I was just wondering why you decided not to go through the portal". She laugh some more and said "so the best way to find out was to fall on your face like a dumb dumb." I should have known I was smarter than that. She saw straight through my bluff but I can see right through hers.

Maybe she just wanted to tease me a little more about falling over but right now I think she's avoiding the question. Just to make sure I laughed it off and said "So why aren't you going in the portal.'' she smiled and said "So I don't fall on my face like you did". No doubt about it I know myself too well to not know what she's doing. The question now is how should I go about it. I could easily force her to answer the question but I still have to make sure I'm on her good side. I think the best course of action is to ask one more time if she avoids it then we let it be if she answers it's not that big of a deal. "That's funny but we should get going." she smiled and said "Nah falling isn't something I want to do today" I could tell that smile was fake but I don't want to push this conversation any longer. This has its problems now. I'm in a dilemma. I could go and find Adam but is leaving little me really worth it.
