The Golden Flower
Introduction

Introduction

In a time before magic was discovered, when humans wore simple clothes and lived off the land, lived a young girl named Hoor. She was born into a humble family. Her father was a farmer and her mother, a housekeeper. She grew up in a small village "Mirgund", near a river that watered the whole area and the "Hukus" jungle.

Growing up, Hoor suffered from a mysterious illness that kept her from spending much time outdoors. She felt isolated, as no other child dared approach her for fear of catching her illness. Hoor used to spend most of her time in her room staring into the open sky and large grasslands from her window.

One day, just outside her house, Hoor spotted a flower on the ground. Delicate petals unfurled like soft brushstrokes of twilight hues, blending deep purples and golds into a harmonious display. At its center, a dark blot stood like an eye, gazing silently, while its rounded leaves framed it with quiet strength. The flower had a stem of medium length, vibrant green, and sturdy. "Someone must have plucked it," she thought to herself. Filled with sympathy for the fragile flower, she gently picked it up. She even got an old used utensil filled with loose soil to plant the flower in. She felt a sense of relief as she placed the homemade pot with the flower in her room. It almost felt as if she helped a friend in need.

After that Hoor used to take good care of the flower. She watered her, made sure she got enough sunlight and even placed her next to her bed. Hoor named her Faraah. The same name as her young sister who lost her life to the beasts of the forest. Whenever Hoor missed her young sister, she would talk to the flower thinking her words were reaching Faraah. Filled with sadness sometimes Hoor would break into tears talking to the flower. "Why won't you talk back? Can't you hear me? Are you also going to ignore me like the others Faraah?" she would cry herself to sleep. But why did she believe that the flower was a reflection of her sister? Maybe it was the bright golden color that reminded Hoor of her sister's hair or maybe the black spot in the middle, that reminded Hoor of Faraah's eyes.
