"There are three types of magic in the world, each originating from a different plane of existence.
The first comes from the Outer Planes, the origin of everything. Its exploration is outlawed and will not be discussed in detail in this or any other text. Suffice it to say that any magic originating from the outer planes is both dangerous and forbidden.

Those chosen by one of the gods, Clerics, Paladins, or Druids, are given a piece of the divine to carry in their bodies and souls, tying them to their patron and the heavenly plane. Each god grants different flavors of magic pertaining to their individual nature and will be discussed in detail starting in chapter 2.

Each Sorcerer holds the power of one of the elements in its raw and uncontrolled form. The power manifests at or around puberty, and due to the dangers associated with its existence, a Sorcerer's magic is either trained by Mages or sealed by the government..."
