Gods' Chosen Few: Chapter 18

Dominit jumped backward with one foot and with enough strength to normally send him a few feet backwards. Instead he rocketed a hundred feet backwards to the main building of the keep where they’d all come from. The dragons quickly followed after him thinking what he’d just said was to throw them off and give him a head start.

Cassandra screamed his name and then at the dragons trying to get them to stop but they didn’t listen. After Dominit made it inside the keeps stronghold he made his way through looking for a large room where he could fuck the dragons up. He luckily found one before the dragons caught him. Inside it was barren with a few lit torches burning in the corners of the room.

He quickly willed the shadows created from the flames to extinguish the light causing the room to go pitch black. Not even a moment later the dragons barrelled into the room. Dominit was sure that darkness wouldn’t bother dragons as they were supposed to have incredible sight even in the stories of his world.

They stopped running after they made it into the center of the room and began to sniff. “We know you are here human come out and die like a warrior instead of hiding like a coward.” The red dragon seemed to be enraged at the moment. Dominit was going to be sure to use that to his advantage.

He laughed hoping to make him angrier. “And why should I come out when I’m right here in front of you?” They looked and they could make out the outline of their human prey. “But I said I wanted to play and if I were to destroy you in front of my friends I’m a little worried about how they’d react.”

“So I decided to seclude our actions away from any prying eyes. Now I’m going to use you little shits to test out some new things my lovely Nyx just taught me so you’d best be prepared.” The other dragons laughed thinking he was just lying hoping to find a way out of his situation. All except for the green dragon who had at least one reason to believe what this human was telling them.

From behind them was a little bit of light from the magical torches in the hall. The light quickly faded and with it they could no longer see the human in front of them. In fact they could no longer see each other even though they’d only been a few feet away.

They were about to shout to one another when they all felt something slam right into their humanoid stomachs. They all flew backward and slammed into the wall spitting up blood. Then Dominit laughed like he did earlier like a madman who just found something new to torment.

“Ha what’s wrong? Don’t tell me a little human just made dragons’ bleed with his bare hands.” The blue dragon growled at him but she was quickly silenced when she felt a slap snap her face to the side. “Shush little lizard. You wouldn’t want any of the little ones to hear such anger and pain would you?”

The red dragon roared at him not knowing what had transpired and blew flames throughout the room. Dominit hadn’t used any magic to stop him and they all saw Dominit standing with the blue dragon slammed into a wall with his hand clenched around her throat.

“You fuck put her down now!” The brown male dragon seemed incredibly angry now too. “Oh is she your girlfriend? My apologies.” He let go of her and she fell to the floor gasping for air while Dominit backed away from her with his hands held in surrender.

“Sorry about that I did say I only wanted to play with you all but she just said something insulting about my Cassandra so I couldn’t let that stand. Although I suppose when I bitch slapped her that should have been enough.” He shrugged and walked to the center of the room.

The dragons looked up at him slightly disturbed but the blue dragon was slightly pale. “How do you know what I said?” Dominit looked her way again and smiled coldly towards her. “Well you see sweet cheeks when Nyx came to me about two minutes ago or so she passed on a lot of information.”

“It was only supposed to be about how to use the power of darkness but when she decided I had enough knowledge to survive I greatly disagreed and kept her from going anywhere. I guess some of the knowledge I picked up was every language spoken and written of this world.”

He smiled remembering her luscious lips. “Now I’ll begin my experiments.” They were about to question him and see what he knew about Nyx when all light faded from the room. Extinguishing the enchanted fire from a flame dragon which was thought to be impossible unless you found a water dragon.

Before they could regain any sense of where they were they all began to be pummeled from all sides at the same time from many unforeseen assailants. Growing more and more enraged the flame dragon began to try and attack whatever was hitting it. Flailing about she managed to attack something and so she took out all her fury on it.

Minutes passed and suddenly the darkness lifted showing her what had been her punching bag. It was the green dragon and he was bruised and battered but still very much alive. Directly beside her was the blue dragon straddling the brown with her fists raised in the air to attack again.

They were all shocked “Ha ha ha are you guys serious what are you doing to each other?” They all saw Dominit siting in a chair against the back wall leaning backwards as if they had hardly amused him. “You guys were supposed to find me not beat the shit out of one another.”

He sighed and rose from his chair. “You people or dragons however you want to be called aren’t worth my time. I figured I could try out some great things but if I fool you that easily there’s no way I can test out the serious stuff.” The girls had climbed off and help up their counter parts.

“How dare you human we will destroy you.” The red dragoness screamed. Dominit merely looked at her and shook his head. “Listen I’m going to do one more test on you four. I’ll let you keep the light and you can work together this time. Should you survive I’ll forgive you as I’d hate to be someone who help make something like dragons extinct.”

“But if you fail and die here then I’ll be taking the little dragons with me.” After hearing his final words all four dragons roared at him. They would never allow such a monster to take away their peoples only hope. Dominit nodded at them admiring their tenacity and then he disappeared.

The dragons readied themselves not willing to take the human at his words they all had their backs to one another waiting for their final “test”. A few minutes passed and they began to think the human had lied and was currently taking the children when he suddenly appeared in front of them sitting in his chair from earlier.

“Where did you go?” It was the green dragon who spoke. “Well if I’m going to watch a show I might as well grab a few snacks.” He held up a back that was filled with smoked meats from Jaslyn’s bag. “Took me a minute or two to find it but now we can start.” They all conjured their elemental swords preparing to fight.

Once again they waited and began to grow even more enraged that this human was making fools out of them. The flame dragoness had had enough and charged him. Before she made it half way across the room however she was grabbed by her hair and thrown backwards landing on her ass.

She thought it was one of her companions but instead standing in front of her was a familiar black shape. She looked behind her and saw that her friends were facing the same thing she was only they were all slightly different. “Do those things seem familiar” Dominit asked them. The red dragoness still unsure of what was going on answered that hers was familiar.

Dominit laughed and then sat forward in his chair prepared to be entertained. “Good then you can recognize your own shadows. They will be your opponents now you can begin.” As soon as he said begin the shadows leapt forward and attacked their corresponding “owner”.

The battle only took a few minutes as the dragons saw that their shadows had the exact same talent in combat as well as a sword made from darkness. They quickly realized that they couldn’t beat them one on one so they focused one down at a time until they were victorious. After they were finished however instead of go after Dominit they released their swords and fell to the ground.

“What have you done to us?” The water dragoness asked out of breath and slumped on the floor. Dominit rose from his chair and threw the now empty bag of smoked meat into his shadow where it disappeared. “It’s quite simple really. I may have used your shadow to fight you but I made sure the ones supplying it power to keep it alive were all of you. So if you used more strength they’d be able to match it perfectly.”

They tried to rise but failed and Dominit slowly approached them and took one of his daggers from his back. To his surprise it had changed shape entirely. It was a once a simply straight dagger meant for stabbing but now it was a kukri. A knife that curved inwardly only a few inches past the hilt with a broadening at the tip of the blade. Much more of a combat blade than his previous simple dagger.

He wondered how and when it had changed maybe his kiss with Nyx had helped it form. Glad it was a little more menacing now he took a few practice swings trying to get used to its new weight and form. “Now I’m going to have to train with this. Ahhhhh what a pain. Oh well these things had a million uses in my world on top of being a better sword than some of the shit they tote around here.”

He reached the blue dragoness and pulled her hair forcing her head to lift and brought the blade to her throat putting it right in the bend. “NO. Please human spare her please take my life instead.” The brown dragon begged while still exhausted. “What makes you think she will be the only one to die here?”

He looked at Dominit’s red eyes and swallowed trying to think of a way to save them all from this monster. “Any last words sweet cheeks” He cut her neck slightly with the blade. She began to shake and cry. “I’m sorry love.” She looked at the brown dragon. “I will always love you Azog. Goodbye.”

The Azog broke down and began to cry not wanting the love of his life for over a thousand years to disappear from his life. Just before Dominit pulled his Kukri back and ending her life he laughed. Azog thought he was laughing at their goodbye and could only wonder about how cruel this human was. But instead he laughed so hard he withdrew his knife from her neck.

“Now how come you assholes couldn’t have shown me any compassion? After all I’ve only been in this fucked up world for a few months trying to clean it up and all that ever happens is I’m mistreated and hated. But when I beat the people responsible I’m the monster?”

He sheathed his new blade behind his back and grabbed two chairs from the back wall where he’d been sitting. He picked up each dragoness and set them on it so they could be a little bit more comfortable while they rested. They stared at him unsure if this was just a joke and he was still going to kill them.

“You can relax now. I only said I wanted to play not kill. But I figured if I showed you what it was like for me the second I came to this world you know assholes trying to kill me and all that.” They stared at him not fully comprehending the fact that their lives were just in his hands and he could have ended them without any effort.

He sat down in the middle of them and sighed. “I understand why you did what you did but you still deserved this. After all I already told greeny over there what was up with me. And yet you still wanted to fight.” He shook his head “You guys might be old but you’re all still so dumb.”

Dominit got up and started to walk back out towards where he left his friends. “I’m heading back. We’ll be waiting for you.” He was about to leave the room when he turned back around. “Oh and please don’t tell my friends about me please. I’d like to tell them myself just not yet. I don’t think they’d handled it to well right now.”

He walked out and saw Cassandra was weeping on her knees where she had been standing originally. Jaslyn was wrapped around her hugging her but what also looked like holding her back. Justin awkwardly stood to the side with a tear in his eye.

Dominit walked up to them without being noticed as they were all quite saddened. “Hey guys what’s so sad?” Cassandra shoots her head up and dives at Dominit tackling him to the ground and bawling on his chest. “How could you? You bastard why would you do that to me?”

Dominit just stroked her head and calmed her down. “Shhhh its okay Cassy. I’m fine see.” He tilted her chin up to look at his face. Her eyes had tears streaming from them but she was still beautiful. Dominit sat up with her in his lap with her face buried back in his chest. He tilted her chin back up and stared into her eyes.

“You are beautiful. Did you know that?” She looked at him strangely just before he stole a kiss from her. She stared at him with a blank expression for a moment. She then smiled slightly and kissed him.

After a few more kisses she looked at him deathly serious. “If you EVER do something like that again….” She grabbed his face with both hands and brought it very close to hers. “I’ll kill you!” She then kissed him one more time and got off of him.

The dragons slowly made their way towards them with their wounds no longer visible. “We are sorry for the way we acted. You may in fact be different from other humans. Please forgive us for our actions.” Dominit waved their apology away. “Don’t worry about it as long as we’re ok now.”

He nodded towards the water dragon hoping she’d forgive him with what he put her through. She looked at him and then hid slightly behind Azog trying to hid herself. “As we may be the last of our kind we have knowledge that may benefit your races.” Azog looked at the three demi humans. “It will help explain why we reacted the way we did to your friend here. It pertains to how your species came to be.”
