The Unintended Experiment

The year is 3000.

You can barely recognize these worlds anymore. Yeah, "worlds" is plural. Humanity has reached an extent that they are already regressing back to its colonial mindset.

Earth has conquered 50 worlds till now.

I am in one of them.

I am in a barely lit room. The only light coming emitting in this room is from a machine, a machine seen never before.

I let out a psychotic laugh as I have accomplished something that was only imagined before.

I made a machine that can clone a person, animal, or any living thing.

I put my body in this body-bag-like machine, machine after sensing a living person instantly envelopes me ad starts crushing me into bits, I put my hands out before it could crush my hands. The machine had sucked my muscles, my blood, and plasma/cells into it.

It releases me, I lay flat on the ground my vision darkening but before I pass out I see someone...

I wake up to my stomach grumbling, I am not able to move my body except my hands. I am in searing pain but I am not able to shout. I realize that my throat is crushed.

As I lay there on the bed, I could feel the cold metal of the machine beneath me, pressing against my skin. The room was dimly lit, with only a faint glow emanating from the machine beside me. The air was stale and heavy, making it hard to breathe. The pain in my body was overwhelming, causing every movement to feel like a thousand knives piercing my flesh.

I lay there despondent realizing it had been a failure that had cost my life. My eyes popped out and I was a horrible sight.

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

But I realize that my cuts and holes from where some of my muscles were seized are bandaged. My mind goes blank for a moment. I hear footsteps coming.

'Nobody should be here' I thought.

The silence was deafening, broken only by the sound of my labored breathing and the occasional drip of water from a leaky faucet. The room had a musty smell like it had been closed up for years. I could feel the rough texture of the bandages on my wounds, a constant reminder of the pain I was in.

A man identical to me walked in he looked like my younger self. Even though he looked similar, when I peer into his eyes I feel strangeness.

After a bit of eye contact, a tear slipped through my eye socket. I realized that the person before me was a clone of mine. But I could see a mask, the dreadful maks that I had despised my whole life.

But why?

It was a clone machine, the clone should be exactly like me but why the strangeness, why the mask?

In addition to the piercing physical pain, I was also feeling a mental breakdown coming.

I believe my clone could also feel that as I see some pain in his eyes.

He doesn't speak to me.

It took me some time to calm down, but my gaze became hostile and cold toward this failure that I had created.

After some time I understand how to communicate with this clone, I am supposed to keep my hands on the machine and then transfer my thoughts. This machine was built based on the philosophy of quantum computers, It runs on Qubits.

Hence it can absorb countless thoughts in a single second.

Suddenly, there is a bright light, my hologram starts shining displaying a message; ' The UPKF are onto you.

There is a wave of panic and heat flowing through my body. As I lay there, I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread wash over me. The thought of being caught by the UPKF filled me with a sense of terror that I couldn't shake off. My heart raced as the hologram flashed with the message, sending me into a panic.

I lay there helpless choking on my own flesh bit by bit.

I glint shines in my eyes I touch the machine/ball and transfer my consciousness.

For the first time, the clone shows emotion, for the first time he had direction, a direction that would go on to create history.

Despite my fear, I couldn't help but feel a strange sense of detachment. It was like I was watching everything happen from a distance like I was an outsider looking in. As the siren sounds grew louder and the thuds and bangs got closer, I felt a strange sense of peace wash over me.

I closed my eyes and let out a deep breath, feeling a wave of acceptance wash over me. This was the end, but it was also a new beginning. I smiled to myself, knowing that my legacy would live on through my clone. I lay there alone...

Alone?
