Chapter 1: The First Simulation
“Gobro, Gobro, wake up! It’s time to eat.”
In a daze, Luo Ying heard someone calling out to him while his body was being shaken vigorously. As he opened his eyes, he was met with the sight of a grotesque, three-headed monster with a massive head, scrawny limbs, and slimy green skin. It was an ugly creature. Around him, the lighting was dim, suggesting he was in a cave.
Seeing this horrifying scene, Luo Ying closed his eyes slowly. “Hmm, I’m still not awake yet. I must be dreaming.”
“Gobro, you’re awake! Why did you close your eyes again?”
Gobro? Are they talking to me? Luo Ying thought. In this dream, my name is Gobro? This monster can talk, and if I look closely, it even resembles a goblin. He’s calling me Gobro... Could it be... Luo Ying opened his eyes again, looking down at his hands. He quickly noticed that his arms were just as scrawny and green as the creature in front of him. So I’ve dreamt that I’ve become a goblin? This is an interesting dream.
“Gobro, hurry and eat! If you’re late, there won’t be any food left.” The goblin in front of him grabbed his arm and started pulling him outside.
A sharp pain radiated from his arm.
Wait a second... pain? This dream feels way too real. Could it be...
A sinking feeling washed over Luo Ying. In desperation, he pinched the other goblin’s leg, twisting it 360 degrees.
“Ahhhhhh!”
The goblin let out a scream that sounded like a pig being slaughtered.
That scream... it sounds too realistic. This probably isn’t a dream.
While Luo Ying’s face remained calm, a storm raged inside him. Was there anything more shocking than waking up to find you’d become a girl? Yes, there was: waking up to find you’d turned into a goblin. He used to complain about his unlucky life, but now, he wasn’t even human anymore.
It looks like I’ve transmigrated... How did I die in my previous life? I can’t seem to remember. I was an orphan, so no one’s going to look through my browser history, right? I used incognito mode. It should be fine... And hopefully, no one opens the “study materials” on my computer.
As random thoughts swirled through his mind, the goblin in front of him grew angry and swung a punch at him. However, Luo Ying had learned martial arts in his past life, reaching a professional level. With a quick backward step, he dodged the attack and landed a right straight punch squarely on the goblin’s face.
“Bam!”
The punch knocked the goblin to the ground. When he stood up again, he looked at Gobro with fear.
Gobro didn’t follow up with another attack. Instead, he asked, “What did you say you wanted me to do?”
The goblin, now terrified, stammered, “I-I came to get you for dinner.” His voice quivered with fear; he was clearly shaken by the punch.
“Dinner, huh? Got it. Lead the way.”
“Y-Yes.”
Luo Ying followed the goblin, who was called Gobra. Things had happened so suddenly, and he had no choice but to accept it. From today onward, he was no longer Luo Ying. He was Gobro, an ordinary goblin.
Still, now that I’ve transmigrated, do I have a system or something?
As he walked, he tried calling out in his mind.
System, are you there? If you are, show me the status panel.
The next moment, a game-like interface appeared before his eyes. Gobro let out a sigh of relief. Thank goodness, there’s a system.

Hope rekindled in his eyes. A system meant he had a chance. Surviving as a goblin would have been almost impossible otherwise. In his previous life, he’d seen powerful high-level goblins in anime. Hopefully, he could evolve and escape his current frail form soon.
He continued walking while inspecting his status panel.

The stats were straightforward. It was clear he was currently very weak.
As for the simulation attempts, he understood the concept. He had read simulation novels before, but he wasn’t sure what state his body would be in during the simulation. So he decided not to use it recklessly.
“Gobro, stop daydreaming and hurry up, or all the meat will be gone,” Gobra reminded him cautiously.
Gobro turned to him and said, “I need to... relieve myself. Go ahead and eat without me.”
Saying something like that in the human world would definitely get strange looks. But Gobro had heard that goblins weren’t very smart. If he said he had a stomachache, they might not understand, so he kept it simple. However, what Gobra said next shocked him.
“Relieve yourself? You can do that while eating! You can go anywhere, but we only get one meal a day. If you don’t eat now, you’ll miss out.”
Staring at Gobra’s innocent yet stupid expression, Gobro grimaced and insisted, “I need to go now. You go ahead.”
“Oh, okay.”
Seeing that Gobro was serious, Gobra had no choice but to leave.
Once alone, Gobro hurried back to the cave where he had woken up. It seemed all the goblins had gone to eat, making it a safe spot for the simulation.
System, begin the first life simulation.
The first life simulation has begun.
Year One: Your name is Gobro, and you’re an ordinary goblin in a small goblin tribe on the outskirts of the Monster Forest. Your chief is a troll, powerful but lazy, so most tasks are left to you goblins. Your main duties involve hunting and capturing females of other species.
With your modern intellect, you’re much smarter than the other goblins. You understand that working harder won’t benefit you because resources are distributed equally. So you always stay at the back of the hunting group and at the front of the line during meals. Privately, you keep training your skills. Over time, as you survive longer and eat more monster meat, your strength gradually increases. Meanwhile, most of the hard-working goblins die in hunts, and those who survive are badly injured.
