The debris from the door exploding must have killed some inhabitants of the destroyed buildings and some incredibly unlucky passersby. I don’t know how many I just know that some died. You gotta love this world's system! As the dust settled and the visibility of the room improved I could finally take in the room.
The battered and broken bodies of many humans lay strewn about the room. The human filth that was only injured groaned in pain and tried to crawl to safety. I don’t care. Every last one of you deserves to die!
“Kill them. Kill them all!” I shouted.
The Skeleton Monkeys charged in, followed by the Skeleton Guards and Mr. Skelepede. They savagely attacked everyone who was still breathing. The monkeys viciously tore them limb from limb. The guards slaughtered them with arrows, swords, and spears. Mr. Skelepede trampled and chewed his way through the room. Golem and I entered last, I hopped down from my perch, as he gleefully dismantled the remaining buildings. Anytime he found a survivor hiding he crushed them and tossed the mangled corpses over his shoulder.
I lost myself in the glory of destruction and occupied myself solely with animating every single one of these newly made corpses. Laughing maniacally as my army of minions grew larger by the second. I animated the skeletons of corpse after corpse as soon as they were killed and tossed aside. Each skeleton raised reached down and picked up whatever weapon or tool they could find. Once they had armed themselves the massive horde joined the battle.
Greatly hastening the downfall of the nearby humans and increasing the count of my undead army. It’s a vicious cycle but, What can you do? It’s not my fault they decided to enslave an entire race.
A massive army of skeletons swept over every living human we could find in the immediate area. Skeletons wielding various weapons, and some even had tools ranging from hammers to hoes. I’ll admit it’s probably pretty damn terrifying to watch your family and friends murdered before your eyes, just to have them rise a moment later as skeletons that viciously attacked them. Too bad for my enemies, it’s one of the reasons. I requested the power of Necromancy in the first place. The ability to instill fear into those who dare enslave my people! Ugh, there we go again with my people stuff. Am I even a Goblin? Maybe the middle of a battle isn't the right place for an identity crisis.
Soon enough every human in this area had been slaughtered and risen anew. Worthless people in life, are given a new purpose in death.
Wow! Ten whole levels for this moderately sized group of humans? That’s pretty good. I can only imagine what it will be like after I’ve completely wiped these humans out! My internal monologue was oh so rudely interrupted when the alarm started ringing throughout the cave settlement. Bright red flashing lights flooded the room at the same time as the blaring alarms began.
Oh great! Magical alarms? Come on, why me? Guess I’ll allocate these skill points later. Shit is about to get hectic! Ripping my mind away from increasing my skills and strength I climbed back into my trusty Golem mount.
“Let’s go!” I ordered.
Casting one last look of longing at the still unsearched rubble I reluctantly followed my army into tunnels and caverns unknown. Oh, my precious loot! I’ll return for you, I promise! Venturing further beyond the entrance we had zero encounters with the enemy. They are up to something. I just know it!
I grew more suspicious the longer we went without seeing any trace of a human. I don’t like this! I slowly worked my way up to the front of my army and noticed that the cavern we were about to enter was quite large. It also had weird-looking grooves on the floor. I followed the grooves with my eyes to their start point and saw that they all led from giant holes in the walls. It dawned on me in a panic and I quickly ordered my minions to stop.
“HALT!” I shouted.
I was too slow in my observation and the results were devastating. Mr. Skelepede and the Skeleton Monkeys had already entered the large chamber. All I heard was the sharp click of a trap being triggered and then disaster struck. As soon as they stepped foot into the chamber giant boulders shot out of the walls with insane speed. Rolling down their designated paths and right into the unlucky minions who I didn’t stop in time. It was over in the blink of an eye.
All that remained of Mr. Skelepede and my monkey minions were shattered and powdered bones. No! You’ll pay for this you bastards! They may have just been skeletons, but they were MY skeletons! Without entering the room I observed the traps again. They seem to be single-use boulder traps, but I can’t be sure just yet.
“Golem, break a piece of the cave wall off and chuck it at that trap trigger!” I commanded.
“As you wish, Master!” the Golem responded.
The Golem smashed his fists into the wall knocking out a good-sized chunk and picking it up. With very little effort he tossed it onto the trap trigger. Nothing happened. A second stone didn’t come out of the wall, which confirmed my thoughts. Yes! I was right. This means this trap won’t be troublesome anymore. Easy enough to take care of this with a little help from the Golem.
“Golem, walk into the room. Pick up one of those giant boulders and roll it down the path into the next area.” I said.
“You got it!” the Golem replied.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
The Golem entered the room and hoisted one of the giant boulders up out of its grooved track. He lumbered back into position at the entrance and gently set it down. The Golem placed his hands on the boulder and then adjusted his footing. With a mighty heave, he rolled that boulder with all the strength he could muster.
The stone rolled unerringly towards the door to the next area, picking up speed as it went. Multiple clicks echoed through the chamber as the giant boulder triggered every trap. Dozens of boulders hurtled out of their respective holes in the walls. That would have destroyed all my minions and most assuredly taken my life as well. Clever bastards! But I’m clever too! Just wait.
As the boulders rolled down the tracks, the boulder my Golem rolled smashed right through the door barring my way into the next area. I waited patiently for the boulders to end their roll so we could safely enter the area. Once the boulders had stopped completely, we advanced into the room making our way to the newly opened door.
I quickly climbed back onto my Golem and led the undead army through the door leading to the next area. Upon entering this new area of the human settlement we encountered a sizeable force of soldiers blocking our path. Luckily I still didn’t see any of the typically dressed magic users. After finishing my quick scan of the room and confirming that I hadn’t seen any magic users I commanded my army to attack.
“Slaughter them!” I shouted.
As the undead horde rushed forward with murderous intent, I noticed that more than a few of the enemies were trembling in fear. Yes! Tremble before the Unholy Might of Necromancy. Tremble and know despair, Fools! Cowards! I cackled maniacally as my skeletal minions attacked with reckless abandon.
My Golem charged into the fray, gleefully smashing faces. Bone collided with flesh as the skeletons clashed with the living. A broken corpse flew with each mighty swing of the Golem's fists. Holding on with all the might I could muster with one hand I raised my hand to start casting.
“Summon Spirits!” I shouted.
Green energy gathered and dispersed as a multitude of spirits were summoned. The spirits blazed brightly with unholy rage, the flames surged and illuminated the cavern walls with an eerie glow. The spirits unleashed soul-piercing howls and soared into battle. Finally getting stronger now! This whole leveling-up thing is pretty damn good. After summoning all those spirits, I’m still not out of MP yet. It’s amazing! So many minions, so much death! The filthy human's fear heightened upon hearing the unnerving howls of the spirits, and then again once the ghostly skulls engulfed in flames attacked. This heightened sense of fear coupled with the fear already inflicted upon them by the skeletons drove some of the men to their breaking points.
Those men who broke tossed their weapons aside, and attempted to flee from the nightmare in front of them. Think again! You can’t outrun the spirits! Terrified, they hastily tried to retreat. An acrid scent filled the air as they soiled themselves, the fleeing humans were caught and killed one by one. Seeing their comrades flee in terror and get slaughtered, the remaining defenders' morale plummeted. Once they lost morale the fight progressed rapidly into a victory for the undead.
After the last man fell, I hopped off the Golem and quickly collected the various items and coins on the ground. Without spending any time identifying them they were tossed into a pack and forgotten for the moment. Once that item collection was over I turned my attention to raising reinforcements. Looking around at the carnage my minions had caused, I smiled. The effectiveness of the Undead is incredible.
“Animate Skeleton!” I chanted.
The familiar emerald glow of magical energy flowed into the corpses and animated the skeletons of my recently slain enemies. The skeletons burst out of their remaining flesh and then armed themselves with their weapons. Shortly after my reanimated reinforcements rearmed themselves I climbed back into my perch on the back of the Golem.
I settled myself in comfortably and started the march again, a massive army of skeletons surrounding me as the Golem stomped forward. Realizing that no more enemies were coming for me this very second I decided it was safe enough for me to check stats and allocate skill points. Hell, I have 20 skill points accumulated and hadn’t had the time to spend them. Damn enemies keep attacking me and dying. Alright, let’s get this done!

Damn! My HP, MP, and SP are way higher than they were last time. Wow! Is level 37 already? Killing these foolish humans gives way more experience than the small monsters I was killing in the dungeon. Alright 20 skill points, what should I level up? Hmm? 5 points into Summon Spirits. 5 points into Create Golem. 5 points into Animate Skeleton. 2 points into Bone Armor. 3 points into Decay. Yeah, I think that sounds good.
>Summon Spirits has reached level 10. Spirits move and attack faster. Physical and Fire Damage have increased significantly.>

Alright! Stronger skills now and I even picked up a new Sub Skill. Let's go! I’m ready to finish these bastards and free my people! Rolling my eyes at the continued accidental use of my people I decided that I needed to figure this out soon. After I was done, I brought my full attention back to the march.
Army moving forward at a steady pace, we encountered no one in our way. The tunnels were empty, and the buildings we passed were vacated in what looked to be a hurry. That’s suspicious! My Golem turned his head towards me and his rocky eyes locked onto mine.
