Steps Into The Dark: 1_The Ghoulish Necromancer

A young necromancer wearing a magical robe and hat walks to the entrance of a level 1 dungeon. A guard stops her and simply asks "Rank and status please." Era complies and hands the guard a bronze card and says "I consent to the status check."

The guard looks at a blue box in front of him and says "A level 5? This dungeon is recommended for level 7-10's."

"Well yeah but I am a necromancer so my summons are quite strong" Era responds.

"Fine, but Just be careful ok?" The guard says

Era smiles and enters the {DARK BAT DUNGEON}.

From what Era read from the dungeon guide, The {DARK BAT DUNGEON} was full of shadow bats and darkon spiders. With the occasional mimic of course. With her skills though, she was confident she could breeze through the dungeon.

She wanders about for a bit before a shadow bat swoops in from above with black fire emanating from its feet. Era simply casts a shadow bolt in the bats direction.

"Sweet. That was enough EXP for a level up. Though it was pretty easy to kill that bat" Era thinks to herself.

Era continues to wander, of course, not going off course of her dungeon map. Until she saw a treasure chest. She instantly shot a shadowbolt at the chest, it instantly shattered. Good, that means it is not a mimic.

She walks to it and looks at the destroyed remained of the chest, she sees a magic staff, sweet! It looks cool too, a wooden stick with a skull with horns on top of it, pretty cool considering that necromancers summon the undead. She then uses inspect on the staff.

It looks pretty good so she keeps it. after all, Its gonna help her when she enters the boss room. Which according to her map is not that far away. She walks in the direction of the boss room when suddenly a swarm of bats started flying towards her.

She quickly uses necromance and summons 4 skeletons, all of which are overwhelmed and dismantled by the swarm. She jumps out of the way of the swarm and quickly shoots 2 shadowbolts into the swarm.

The swarm simply disperses for a few seconds and reforms. Era panics and shoots 6 more shadowbolts into the swarm. again, the swarm disperses and reforms. Era is in a grim situation, with only enough mana for one more large attack.

She used lesser boss summon. A behemoth of a skeleton rose. It looked like 5 skeletons merged into one, instead of 2 leg bones it had 4 leg bones, with each bone being attached to another bone for strength, its femur was massive, with a even bigger ribcage. which looked like 5 skeletons ribcages were refitted into one ribcage. Its arms made of 5 skeleton arms combined into 2 massive arms. instead of 1 3 it had 3 skulls on its head and 2 skeletons on its shoulder. It welded a greatsword and each of its skulls had an iron helmet. it wore light armor on its legs and body.

Only for the bat swarm to enter the skeletons ribcage and dismantle it from the inside. The skeleton sword attacks were easily dodged by the swarm. Era was completely out of mana, but while the bat swarm was busy on the skeleton she took a swig of the mana potion she had in her robe.

Her mana was replenished but her attacks did nothing, there was no choice. She has to use her only physical skill, charge.

When her so called "boss" summon was completely destroyed, The swarm started flying towards here. She shot 2 shadowbolts into the swarm, it dispersed. and right before the swarm reformed. She used charge with her staff and killed a few bats

She continued the cycle of shadowbolt and charge until she ran of mana, where she would then drink a bit of the few mana potions she had remaining and restart the cycle. She did this for a few minutes until the swarm was gone

Now that the way was clear, and she was one level stronger. Era was going to challenge the boss. So she picked up her pace, stared at her map and went to the boss room.

After a bit, Era was at the door of the boss room. She burst through the door and looked around. Out of nowhere, a giant bat swooped from above and took a giant bite out of her shoulder.

Era screamed in pain, But she had to stay focused. She shot a shadowbolt at the giant bat flying across the room, a strange symbol appeared and deflected the shadowbolt right back at her. Along with a purple lighting bolt

She tried to necromance a skeleton to absorb the attack but another strange symbol appeared in front of her and she felt the necromancing magic she just sent out wash over her entire body at the same time shadowbolt and lighting bolt hit.

...

Era woke up without her hat and a giant headache. "wait wasnt i fighting the bat" she thought to herself. She rubbed her eyes with her hands. When she saw her hands she screamed. They werent human.
