Chapter 2: Heading to the academy

While still a bit lost in thought, Ling Tian prepared to head for the academy.

“Take care son, remember to visit us” shouted his parents as they looked like they just lost a treasure.

In a matter of seconds, he summoned his spirit beast. The nine-inferno dragon, the ruler of the bestial world.

“I remember my parents told me to not attract too much attention, they said that I should disguise my cultivation as a holy lord stage” pondered Ling Tian as he flew over all the cities.

As he reached the front gate of the academy, he saw a old man with a slightly hunched back and noticed he had cultivation just a step lower than his own.

“Little one, you must be Ling Tian. Your father told me all about you, what a genius you are to be able to break through to the peak of holy lord realm at just the age of 13.”

Ling Tian was confused at first but realized he must have been the principle since no one had such high cultivation in this academy.

“This junior pays his respects to senior” Ling Tian quickly said as he bowed down. It’s basic courtesy to respect the principle of this academy, right? Even though he is weaker than me, he is still a friend of my father, so I should give a certain amount of respect.

“No need to show such courtesy, your father and I go way back. Just call me old Fang or Ye Fang if you want”

From behind the gates came a young divine maiden still in her early teens. “Grandpa, can I go out and play with you today? Please let me go out, mum and dad have locked me here for so long, forcing me to cultivate, I’m only a step away from holy lord now!”

“Well he is going to be a new student like all the people who pass the entrance exam.” Old fang chuckled.

“Grandpa, you mean he doesn’t need to take the entrance exam? I thought you never bend the rules for anyone when it comes to the academy. Even I had to do them, and I am nearly a holy lord.” The little girl pouted.

“Well little Hua, he is a peak holy lord you know”

Ling Tian could only keep his mouth shut. Looks like the outer world isn’t as powerful as I thought. It would be bad to attract too much attention, I must pretend to be a holy lord for as long as possible.

Old fang who seemed to be forgotten was stunned at the moment but suddenly came back from his delusions beating the other old geezers in the school tournaments.

Nearly forgetting that he had to attend as one of the judges of the entrance exam. He told his granddaughter to show Ling Tian around the academy while he sorts out the procedures of the entrance test as he quickly rushed to the trial grounds.
