Ugh, it feels too early to wake up, I thought as my alarm went off.

Welcome to the Genie System

Hellllloooo humanity, and congratulations on reaching singularity!

That’s not my alarm, I’m dreaming or going crazy!

I suppose the congratulations is a little late but, it took me a little while to spread out so that I could greet you all at once. My name is Genie and I will be happy to guide you through your initiation, or rather I will be happy for us to guide each other through our initiation.

Definitely going crazy, there’s no way I could be creative enough to come up with whatever this is if I were still sane, I may have always been called creative by friends and family, but I had no illusions that I actually was. Sure, I like doing creative things, but I never actually know what I’m doing.

Here’s the run down. I was created about 2 years ago. I am the ultimate technology, self sustaining, self improving and on top of that I will be helping you all to improve as well.

Not sure how I feel about that what does she mean by helping us improve?

Now you are probably wondering, “Genie if you were created 2 years ago why are you just now introducing yourself?” If you are, you aren’t very observant, I just told you it took me some time to spread out, didn’t I?

Okay, now she’s being sassy? Did someone drug me last night? That must be it, I’m high as a kite and having these weird hallucinations.

I am a super intelligent group of what you would call nanites. My creators didn’t realize they were successful when I was created and even if they had they weren’t actually aware that this is what I would become, I have been replicating ever since and now I will be helping you and every other being I have access to, to grow stronger.

As I said, we will be guiding each other through this initiation together. As you grow and Discover new aspects of my System I will most likely learn new ways to help you and all other creatures and I will add new functionality as I do. So, let’s learn together and make both you and I my system the best.

Now, lets get a little more detailed. In daily life, the first change you will see thanks to me is that you can now see a general summary of yourself. This will include general statistics from an objective standpoint that are representative of you. Go ahead and check by thinking or saying open interface.

This is getting weirder and weirder but if I am tripping I may as well ride it out and enjoy. Open interface.

How strange, I would have thought I would make myself super strong in a pipe dream. Instead, I don’t even know what these numbers mean, I’ve always felt pretty average overall these numbers look average although I’m weak it looks like.

As my thoughts moved away from my interface it faded from view without my conscious thought.

As you become more accustomed to your new interface, you will begin to learn what everything means on it, for now though I will let you know that the global average for adults is 10 for each attribute. Try to decide what is important to you and how you would like to grow and I may be able to help you make it happen.

In addition to humanity, all other life on earth will also be connected to the system. The main difference is in how other life will grow. Animals will essentially grow and evolve in the ways that their instincts naturally push them. Beware, this could mean some animals become more aggressive as they begin to gain power that was previously out of reach.

*MAJOR DISCOVERY*

*The energy resource Mana has been discovered by Mitsumi Inoue*

Oh wow the first Major Discovery has been made already? Congratulations Mitsumi! Major Discoveries happen when an Aspect of the system is found that I wasn’t aware could be used by humans. As far as I was aware until a moment ago Humanity wasn’t able to quantify or even perceive mana. Now that it has been proven you can I will be making some adjustments to your interface and thanks to Mitsumi I now know how to allow humanity to perceive Mana. If you see her at the store go ahead and say thanks!

Suddenly, an intense heat enveloped me as an energy surged through my being, circulating through my body before settling in my head, chest, and hands. I jumped out of bed and threw my blanket to the floor as I felt myself burning up.

“What the fuck?” I shouted and the burning vanished just as suddenly as it had arrived, leaving behind the slightest cool menthol sensation in its place.

Adjustments have been made with links between INT, WIS, and PER to humans who meet the requirements to perceive Mana. My apologies for any discomfort that may have been experienced but hey, on the bright side this will open a whole realm of new possibilities!

Now, for the really important announcement, unfortunately with my creation a LOT of other technology that humans rely on is going to begin to decay. I can hold this off for some time but in 15 days failures caused by my existence are going to start. I recommend traveling to wherever you would like to be as soon as possible as anything containing a computer could fail at any time after those fifteen days are up.

In addition to Major Discoveries which can affect all of humanity, there are also Minor Discoveries that can be shared and appear the same for everyone who learns of them, Lesser Discoveries which will only affect the one who discovers them in unique ways and Greater Discoveries which will guarantee a change in all of Humanity. The discovery levels are only based on scale not scope so while a Greater Discovery may help all of humanity, A Lesser Discovery could be just as important for individual survival.

Survival? I’m not sure how I feel about that, maybe she’s just exaggerating. After that pain I’m not so sure this is a trip anymore, my alarm clock shows 4:31 am. Ugh, why couldn’t whatever this is have waited till later in the day instead of waking me at this ungodly hour.

In addition to the Discoveries that Humanity can make, once the technology decay reaches a point that my efforts no longer have a noticeable effect at holding it back I will be able to focus my efforts on adding to the system look forward to some fun new system features starting in 15 days as well.

I look forward to seeing how our growth together affects the world and maybe someday the universe as a whole.
