My lungs burn and my nostrils flare, I feel alive.
Gasping for breath as I propel myself forward,
A cry of joy wells up from inside.
I let it loose, it feels wonderful,
No one but me and the scenery for miles.
My muscles are like springs,
Snapping me forward.
I’m alive, I’m alive, I’m alive.
I go for hours, not a thought but the wind,

I’m free for today, and I whip myself forward.
Dra-dra-Drum, Dra-dra-Drum, Dra-dra-Drum
A small river up ahead,
Thrill shoots down my spine as I gather myself to leap it.
I stretch, I expand, for a moment, I fly.
Snap! I pull myself back in, my hind legs coming forward.
Th-thump, and I’m off, singing out a note of joy to the wind.
For today I have no cares, nor worries or must do’s,
I Am the wind!
An exhilarating thought.
I am the Wind.
The mast on the forest floor flies up in my wake,
The small creatures and people are bewildered by the disturbance.
I laugh at my freedom,
Faster, faster, and faster again.
My muscles burn, my lungs on fire.
I love it.
I slow down to catch my breath, but it's long until I’m off again.
The sun is low on the horizon by the time I start nearing home.
My sides are so slick with sweat that I’m literally shining!
I breathe through my nose slowly and steadily,
My stomach is growling.
I couldn’t have asked for a better day.
