Vol.2 Chapter 7: Fallen from Grace
< Genesis >
In the beginning there was only darkness, and in this vast emptiness, a single voice spoke which disturbed the silence and it's words spread throughout every direction.
“Let there be light.”
Then, like a huge curtain was removed from an open window, the vast emptiness was illuminated with a bright light that was almost blinding.
The owner of the voice was pleased but found that there was nothing in place where it stood, the light was good and it felt good, but it's such a shame if there was light and nothing else could be seen, and so it declared.
“Let there be earth where I can stand up to look down upon my creation and a sky that I can gaze up to and marvel at it's beauty.”
The space trembled and the light flashed so brightly while proclaiming every word it said with utter greatness and when it finished speaking, it was standing on levelled ground floating on the vast emptiness of light. It felt the solid ground on under it's majestic body but noticed it was a bit dry on touch, and so it spoke once more.
“Let there be a body of water and let it separate the land as well as give ease from it's thirst.”
The ground trembled and cracks formed on it's surface, from the broken land huge fountains burst forth spewing large amounts of water threatening to devour everything, but it soon calmed itself as quickly as the water appeared. It stood on top of the water's surface and it felt cold but pleasant, and it watched the water while it gently slipped into the dry land. When it finished appreciating its work, it ran up to the tallest mountain and gazed upon the land which was currently empty. It shook its head left and right as if telling itself that it wasn't enough, causing destructive winds and earthquakes in doing so, and it felt sad looking down at nothing else except rocks and water, and so it spoke once again in a larger more commanding tone.
“Let there be plants, trees, a forest!!! And make the same for the oceans of this world! Let there be beasts of differing kinds and genders that walk the land, that fly in the sky, and swim in the seas!”
"May their seeds spread throughout all corners of the land and be plentiful!"
“Let there be a greater mass of light and a lesser mass of light to separate the light from darkness, for even if the light is good, everything began in the presence of dark.”
The greater mass of light was to be known as Rah, and the lesser mass of light was to be known as Luhn and their children spread into the vast emptiness of the void to shed their own light on differing worlds all throughout. Hence, this was the beginning of night and day.
The creator spent five more of its days in the surface of the world and gave life to his messengers, which it called the Angels, and then it created a whole new entity from the Angels which it named the Demons to serve as protectors for its creations. On the forth day it gave sentience to the beasts which in turn produced intelligent races and also produced ferocious entities that would later be known as monsters. On the fifth day, it gave out names for all of its creations, and that would be what they will be called upon here after.
On the sixth day the creator decided to rest and marvel on its creation. It gazed upon them and it felt good…
On the seventh day… Humans was given birth by the world, breathed life from the image and likeness of the creator. The world… Gaia… Thought that the creator would be happy… She was wrong.
And on the seventh day…
God abandoned his Creations.
< Broken World; Gaia, Plains of Narghuz >
When the humans first appeared into the world, they were what one would call as the weakest of the bunch having drawn the short end of the stick, not blessed with magic, overwhelming strength, or intelligence to let them survive in the world where the strong rule over the weak and the weak could do nothing but bow their heads. However because of the love and grace of Gaia, the humans were given a chance, and no matter how small or meagre it may have been to her, the humans were able to use it to their advantage.
One of the blessings that she gave them were fear. Yes, as funny as it sounds this one was the most helpful, allowing the first generations to survive, being hunted almost day and night by the other races who blamed them for being abandoned, as well as the monsters who sought them for their flesh and bones.
And then she gave them a curious nature that far surpassed their natural fear of mostly everything. You can just imagine what the humans did when they first discovered fire.
Then she gave them courage, to brave the unknown allowing the humans to go forward and improve themselves continuously.
And finally she gave them the blessing of love, one that she longed for from the creator the moment that she was abandoned, which in turn was given to her by her children, her most beloved humans.
Centuries passed and the humans using her blessings were able to surprisingly get ahead of the other races, this in turn made her very proud of her children. Using their feeble minds they were able to create numerous things which amazed even her, and she remembered the creator whenever she looked upon them.
But because of what the humans were capable of, God opened the gates of heaven…
And out came pouring his overwhelming Wrath to all….
Seeing and not believing it to be true, Gaia kept shaking her head in denial, but the hurtful and vengeful truth is all to easy to behold, and so she made a decision to do everything in her ability to protect her children, despite how sorrowful it felt realizing that the one she loves came bringing death and destruction to all.
Using all of herself, she became what the humans would call Gaia Matrix, their only weapon against the destroyer of the world.
….
A young woman stood on the vast plains of their homeland, taking slow and easy breaths as she prepares herself for what is coming, calming her senses, and racking her brain for whatever strategies or tricks that she would use in order to defeat the enemy in front of her.
The north wind blew, and her long white hair fluttered in the air. The men and women at her side looked up to this beautiful scene and intended to burn it in their memories, because who knows when, or if they would even be able to ever see it again.
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Everyone was silent, patiently waiting for whatever orders that their chosen leader would give out, which they would wholeheartedly follow even if they were to meet their end.
“This world really is beautiful, mother did a wonderful job in caring for everyone." The white haired woman said with a hint of sadness in her voice.
“Freia it is time.” a similar beautiful woman with black hair flowing towards her back wearing an overly decorated purple robe that goes really well with the person wearing it, spoke from her left side.
“Thank you Ibaraki, i was just remembering some found memories.” she snapped back to reality and scolded herself for almost forgetting where she was and what was happening.
“Don't be too hard on her Ibaraki, this is going to be the last battle that we would all be facing, I can understand if she's getting cold feet. ” another woman spoke from Freia's right, wearing a black skin tight synthetic polymer on her body with short silver hair and golden eyes similar to a cat, her well endowed body on display for everyone to see.
“That wasn't my intension.” Ibaraki's similar golden eyes glowed as she rebuked the other, and strutted her way towards Saya. '' what!? You want to start fighting me first before the real battle starts, I promise to break a couple of bones and make sure to send you off safely away with Fuuka taking care of you.
“Pfft… Ahahaha! You two never change.” Freia laughed softly while looking at the two fighting like children. "Okay then, Saya about what I asked you to do, what happened to your discussion with the elders.
Giving out a tired sigh, Saya told her exactly what had happened. “Its no use, no matter what I tell them, those old senile fools just won't listen.”
"Tsk those proud dragons probably think that this isn't their problem and so they just easily dismissed everything layed down in front of them." Ibaraki sneered and gave a worried look towards Freia. ''So what now?''
“How foolish indeed, did they really think that everything would end with just us? And to think they are regarded as the most intelligent of all the races." Freia spoke defeated, having lost a card that could eventually turn the tides of battle. ''No matter, with or without help from the others, we will serve as the vanguard for the future.''
both women quickly nodded and Freia turned towards the men and women behind her and spoke.
“Brothers and Sisters, my fellow citizens of Urth, today we are faced with an overwhelming enemy, hell bent on dragging our dead bodies back to their master.”
“I know that most of you are afraid, feeling the great pressure that is seemingly crushing our chances of survival.”
“And I am certain that most of you will perish today, leaving your loved ones behind.”
“But let me tell you this, if you run away.”
“If you decide to turn your back behind all this madness.”
“None of us will take offence, not a single one will be blamed for choosing to stay with your most cherished individuals.”
She paused and looked deeply at everyone in front of her.
“But please keep in mind, that the more of you who choose to stay here with us to die, gives those left behind in our homes more time for them to escape death.”
“And once we fall here and now, our children, the elderly, our mothers, all of them left in our great city, will perish. ”
“for the enemy ahead has no interest in taking slaves or prisoners. ''
“that is why I implore on your good hearts.”
She bowed deeply and tears fell from her blue sapphire eyes unto the ground.
“ Please Die knowing that your sacrifice will allow others to live, I know this is too much for me to ask from all of you.”
The sky in the North trembled and a small crack could be seen getting bigger and bigger with every passing moment emitting a bright light from its crevices, and as soon as it reached its full length, more and more cracks started to appear from the heavens and the sounds of Horns blowing could be heard clearly, and the ground from which they stood began to shake underneath their feet.
Freia slowly turned around and glared menacingly at the scene that was happening, as her tears cascaded from the side of her cheeks.
“ But paying any less would result in our failure, and would ultimately mean the utter extinction of humanity. ”
The cracks in the sky opened up and from them came falling to the ground the 12 messengers of the creator. With the height of a 200 story tall building and as wide as a football stadium. The amalgamation of divinity with its white glowing humanoid body and three pairs of wings on its back, the same size of its head, which seems odd since it probably can't use it to fly, it held no eyes but one could tell that it saw more than anyone else that had a pair to begin with. And from that group, a single angel stood out from the rest, having six pair of wings and twice as large.
It opened its large gaping maw, revealing sharp humongous fangs lined in perfect order. It roared and a deafening shock wave hit the direction of where the humans stood.
And before the humans could reorganize themselves, a strong light gathered inside its mouth before quickly blasting large amounts of energy towards them. The night sky turned into day and destructive winds pushed in all directions, and large pieces of the ground split and got thrown away like a piece of crumpled paper.
The light was so strong that it blanketed everything in white splendor.
[ Nebulin Shield!!! ]
Then came a horrifying explosion!
When the dust and smoke settled, it revealed a large half crater that spanned for miles while the other half remained untouched.
Freia: " Arch Angel Mikhael huh?… I think we are being underestimated. ''
She looked left and right towards her close companions.
Freia: " he didn't even let me finish my heartwarming speech… the nerve of that guy.
